Hope everyone have a great weekend. I felt so exhausted this week that I swinged to YT for some escapism and saw this:

K-drama magic at its best, arghhhhhhhhh. We have a few enjoyable dramas this year but will we be lucky enough to have a CP or CH this year?

Oh my that beach scene gets me all choked up every time I see it! Thanks for posting it and reminding me of how great that was. Now I have to go rewatch Coffee Prince This week.

The other scene I did not look at , although I know what that is too without clicking on it :) I need to save somethings for the re-watch this week.

@epyc & diadda

Awww~ that beach scene just tugs at my heart a bit, and the chestnut scene pulls angst towards the park scene where the cute Han Kyul leans on Eun Chan shoulders then kiss. Oh sooooo good! I rewatched CP a month ago and I can redo it all over again now.

@ 51 CapitalScandalRocks

Ok, I read somewhere viikii finished subbing PS Man so go here: http://www.viikii.net/channels/goto/MasterHeartrobberPSMan#VIDEO_FOLDER/11245... and click on the video folder on the left panel.

@ 52 asianromance

Ok, I finished this series this morning. I like the last two episodes (20 & 21) picking up some heroic scenes, tear jerking confession, and adorable proposal. I think any girl will melt watching those kinds of scenes. In my opinion, ep.07 is a highlight show where Blue serenades a piano song although he lipsyncs but that scene is a touch of fantasy romance any girl may dream. After ep.07 is where the tension betwn two guys feud over one girl gets intensified so the drama is a must see in any 'drama law.' Like I said, ep.15-19 gets boring however ep.20-21 really helped me appreciate why I stuck around to watch this show till the very end and IS IT ME or Blue got really HOT (OR HOTTER) looking the last two epis? Keke~ What is the Lord doing make Blue Lan look alike Takeshi Kaneshiro (my husband) so often? So, WATCH IT!

@ 74 miharatori
I have watched Shinee's "Lucifer" and all the boys got a new look! It was a bit confusing at first to watch however those boys look good.

I suggest watching new Se7en MV "Better Together." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBlZ_VWLos0

I also notice some Kim Hyun-joong variety show clips raising awareness. N I C E! I must profess I love KHJ's 4D personality. I like the variety show Star King more than Strong Heart for it's more entertaining for me than watching celebs confess issues on a show like Strong Heart (Keep watching KHJ on Strong Heart and watch him confess, again, his interaction w/ spirits/ghosts. I have experienced some encounters myself but his stories seem more funny than my own.)

@ 41 mellowyel: JB had ever posted that song in one of CH recap, I forgot which episode. I like that song too. Now, I'm in the middle of hearing its mini album, so far so good. Have you try urban zapaka? It has the same kind type of music, I think. The type of music, that I like to listen while I'm having my cup of coffee, reading my fav book, and enjoying the night. If you like 10 cm, I bet you gonna like Urban Zapaka too.

You know, what I love so much about this site, cause it is not just satisfying my drama addiction, but also my curiosity about the land from which the drama comes. It likes falling in love, I'm falling in love wholly, first to its drama, then to its music, then to its language, then to its culture, and then to everything else about this country
Ha, ha, ha I feel like I have cheated on my own country.

Thanks to JB for introducing me to all about korea other than its drama...

@ diadda or anyone that's been around longer than 5 minutes (lol!), who are posters referring to when they say "Korean Keanu?" I'm assuming they mean someone who looks or acts like Keanu Reeves, but is there one actor in particular who's been given this moniker by DB or someone else??

Korean Keanu means a really hot, really popular guy that can't act his way out of shoe box. Example: Choi Siwon's character from Oh My Lady. That first 5 minutes of that drama says it all.

LOL LOL.....Thank goodness that was the only first 5 minutes of that drama that said it all!!!! I couldn't stop laughing at that scene and thought it was gonna be a constant....but Si-won did a great job in showing he couldn't act as an actor on camera with an ego to match.....but put in a winning performance after that. His facial expressions come through every time. He was really cute in Spring Waltz.

S diary has just finished. What a fun and sad story. Great acting by everyone and a pleasure of a film to watch.

I was wishing and hoping for her reality to be different. Her idealized and romanticized perspective in every relationship kept getting to me. At times I just wanted to slap her out of it. But when you are in love you have some serious blinders, so I forgave every foolish thing she did. Even the lessons while funny as all hell, were I thought, beneath her. She could have skipped that and gone straight to the end. But alas movies are about entertainment and filling in the time with humor and getting an audience of women to cheer for you. I guess means something.

I liked S Diary, but just a borderline like, not a love.

*** SPOILERS FROM HERE****

The storyline was simple and straightforward and I did laugh a lot at her revenges as well as other parts (the priest's glasses, anyone? for that matter, the whole priest thing). The ending was a little heartbreaking to see how the guys felt, afterall, and my biggest problem was in the 'lesson' she supposedly learned from all her relationships. What a letdown and she should have learned so much more, I didn't have high hopes for a good future relationship. Not sure if that was in the writing or the directing, but it didn't work for me.

Okay, no shooting me, but I am having a hard time getting into Hotelier. I know I should find it good, I'm just not ... yet. Will it get better in episode 5? 6?

And, anyone want to watch Last Romance/Last Scandal with me? I've been waiting to watch it again as it ripped my heart out the first time (real life events aided in that), but I so want to watch it again and try to be more impartial, and not be the only one bawling in her kleenex-ridden office .....

I stated it before, Hotelier is a time killer drama at best for me. The thing that makes it worth killing time is Bae(Frank). If you like you can fast forward to all his scenes :)

However if those looks and stares are doing nothing for you at all. You might give it a try later when you have more time and a bored mind.

Also, anyone else slightly nervous about the North Korean and South Korean tension? I really hate politics outside of drama, because real life politics get real life people dead sometimes. Sigh. Don't worry don't worry don't worry ..

@diadda, Leanordswench
S Diary was not my cup of tea either, Gong Yoo was a douchebag but made a nice pair with Kim Sun-ah but her and Kim Soo-ro? Not cool.

@HyeRi
Cheers for sharing that CF link, I was wondering whether Kim Soo-hyun could do something relatively lighter and fun after his dark turn in Giant and he was quite funny in this CF. Still want him to stay far, far away from rom-coms though, hee!

@janna
Loooving yooooou.... hoooo!!
Naww, it was the main theme but a haunting choir and orchestra version, but still with a nice vintage charm about it.
Speaking of the OST, a 3rd installment is now out and it's got heaps of instrumentals and stuff apparently, but there's no way I can hear it. Some sites have it available to d/load but only one song from it, not the rest of it. Gahhh! Why is everything related to this show so elusive.
So did you find the bow-tie wearing ghost guy on that poster? Shall I just tell you where he is then??
Oh hells no am I tired and after seeing a reformed KM in ep20 I'm all the more pumped up. Bring it!
Joo Sang-wook? Yeah I get you, the cranky-looking part anyway, haha. Oh well, at least Mi-joo has put a twinkle in his eye (even more so than when he first met JY) and hey, the self-assured smirk is back. JSW was actually a pleasant surprise for me, I'd heard he wasn't all that great an actor, but I shrugged it off thinking he doesn't have to do much but just smirk like he did occasionally as Wol Ya but then his teen version was quite a layered, intriguing character and I'm glad JSW was able to deliver and so well too.

Also, I have a new cat, a tomcat, looks exactly like the other one and he's 7 months old. We had such a crazy time with him yesterday. My older brother, dad and baby nephew brought him home while I was at work, it was a (very early) birthday surprise. But it shot off and hid somewhere when it saw my excitable nephew, we searched everywhere all evening. Tried luring it out with food but when I got up in the morning to see the milk and food untouched I called everyone up including the seller, his wife who came round with his (cat's) mother -- he sensed her presence and meowed from his hiding place in the kitchen. He'd got himself stuck horribly under one of my kitchen units. We had to take apart one of my units to pull him out. Soon as I clapped eyes on him and saw him with these huge beautiful eyes and a wounded and terrified expression a name instantly came into my mind. You'd never guess what name, yeah, just guess. Not Bidam though I did think of that later as it's short and sweet (but also tragic, so no). He's slowly warming to me so that's nice.

I would watch Last Scandal with you!!! I have never seen it, but I heard good things about it.

I am also nervous about all this talk of nuclear weaponry and the threats that are coming from North Korea. Sec of State Hillary Clinton already said that the USA will back South Korea up wholeheartedly, but still. All that talk about weapons of MASS destruction is making me unhappy.

I have a lot of family in the military, including one stationed in Korea, so I'm not anxious to have anything start or escalate, but what to do about the sinking of the Cheonan and those lost lives?

Starting tomorrow night, after 7:30 EST, I am a free woman to watch however many episodes I want to for three and a half days, until I my carriage turns into a pumpkin (like Cinderella) on Thursday morning, when I have to take off my drama fanatic costume to one more ordinary, like a cardiac nurse. Even so I can watch an episode or two a night when I am working. Let me know what our agenda will be, and I will follow...

My heart breaks for the seamen that died in the Cheonan sinking. I am also very aware that even though the culprit has not been revealed when the governing bodies condemned the attack, everyone pretty much knows that North Korea had something to do with it. Right now we are all treading a very thin wire, and I really do hope that nothing else happens.

@supah: His name is Jung-shik Cattington Jr. and he wears a bowtie. What do you mean I'm wrong?! But, yes! A kitteh. I bet he'll warm up to you soon, and try to smother you in your sleep like mine do! Cats. Your cat is an official Lee family mascot now. Don't let it get near a body of water or it will tear up n' stare into the distance and stuff. (Okay Mi-joo hasn't done this, but we have so much time left...C'mon crying scene) I am dubbing your new fuzzy pal cat-mo yahhhhhhhhhhh

Oh man I just thought you could name him Seo In-Woo and he'd watch you from a distance. . . . Never forget PP. I still got it in me. There's always space for In-woo jokes.

I really want the OST 3 now that I know more instrumental pieces are on it. I will go buy it if I have to. Those and the lounge songs are what I want. If we can keep Loving You to an entire cd by itself which I don't have to buy that would be great. It can be a limited edition single for people who want it. All 4 of you.

Ok I have only watched episode 1, 1 of Hotelier. I know if I don't pay excruciatingly large amounts of attention to this I will forget someones name.

HOTELIER: It's a story about people. Lots of people. Who is that person? Is he important? Oh right the credits list the names of important people! Wow that commercial came in midsentence, Dramafever. It's blasting my ears with its super loudness. I'm never buying cleaning agents again.

Now to our story. Or at least episode 1 of it. 30 years ago the Hotel Seoul was just a stupid forest. Now it is a steel testament to capitalism and luxury. Go Korea! (I'm joking; make with the calmness). This level of swank doesn't come without a price - a fleet of workaholics crank gears daily to make sure every facet within the structure is sailing smoothly. These are their stories...

...And how true does it ring. I've worked in a similar set-up. I consider a chef a person who willingly shaves off 3 years of their life expectancy. A hotel chef? Probably 5. Indiscretions between staff, corporate takeovers, lazy family employees - yes, it all rings true.

Oh there's Las Vegas. A place I've never been. Someone explain to me how this middle class housing situation has such a grand view of the glitzy shiny downtown. Is Nevada really that flat? Can we see Russia from this house? (Excuse my ignorance, as I've never been there. But methinks you're playing me for a fool show)

Where is BYJ? Oh wait he's at the end. Look, I understand. Anytime English is spoken in a drama it is up for scrutiny. I like to play a game called "close your eyes, and see if you can understand". Round 1, Manager-to-be and expert explicitly named drinks maker Han Tae Jun. .......... what. I don't even know. Uhhhh. Replay with subtitles. He said what. Ok. Fair is fair. You suck.
NEXT. Mr. Frank. Oh. I understand you. We have a winner in this match! Woo!
I don't care about accents in English. Try to find someone who doesn't have one. I can't even say the word water right nor can anyone else in a 50 mile radius from me so who am I to judge. Looking forward to episode 2. Perhaps more people can go into the ....sick bay (I must be really stupid on how hotels work, or perhaps there is no such thing) and of course there will be dating in secret with young people and dating in secret with employees and more crazy English times. Wow this got long. I'm sorry, this show is just jam packed. With everything.

I wanted to go for something that would show the true goofy romance epic that is Dong Yi. I felt it should speak to everyone on a base level. Unfortunately I can't stop laughing at the first video and that is the one being blocked. I tried reuping it. and it still got hit.

Total Eclipse of Dong Yi I think shall be my favorite of this weekend.

Okay, Hotelier episode 1: first, my personal filters.

I was a hostess at a 3-star hotel in my younger days, and so, the ins and outs of hotel management are not lost on me (sorry it wasn't a 4-star establishment, but there were none to be had in the area), and second, the English spoken by non-English speakers is never an issue for me beyond the frustrations of "what the hell did they just say?" because if I weren't that forgiving of my native tongue being mashed, then speakers of the 14 additional languages I speak would not be so forgiving with me slaughtering their native tongues (trust me, my Korean is worse than Daniel Henney's and Dennis Oh's, combined).

I speak very little Korean, in fact, although I can read it and understand a good deal that is spoken. Okay, but back to Hotelier, those are my two filters going into the series.

First, I'd read about the quick-pacing of this series and I was a little disappointed that it wasn't actually that quick, and we had a lot of 'background' detours that tried to emphasize to the unknowing how complex hotel management is (one of my early managers, named Dennis in fact, would say, "We're going to make 1,000 little decisions today, let's get 999 of them right." And where were the clipboards and leather-bound file folders, I ask? (Think Dark Ages PDA.) Fine, the party went off without a hitch and none of the guests were any the wiser for the massive work done to pull it off.

So immediately I was getting hung up on little details. None of the staff were near stressed enough, for starters. Then I needed to be interested in the leads, but in order for that to happen, something actually interesting needed to happen to them. Not so in epi 1, I thought. Okay, hotel owner dies, widow takes over, it's all fraught with .... not enough tension, I thought.

Vegas? Been there, done that, for the last three decades, so I can say the shots were authentic. (@janna, although, Nevada is pretty darn near that flat in many places, it has more of a steppe system of geographic piles upon which to build. But Vegas proper is flat as pancake for the most part.) Kim Seung Woo mentioned in an interview that the crew actually had to sneak around and film illegally because they could not get permission for their shoots.

Now, having said all of that, let me say that some series take me a while to warm up to, and I'm seeing Hotelier through to the end. I may be gnashing my teeth the whole way, but I'm in it now.

Off to find that interview, read ages ago, no context then, I just remember the night shoots in Vegas comments as related to Jackie Chan filming at the same time, legally. If I can find it ....

http://www.hotelier2002.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2474

There it is. Knew it existed somewhere in the vaults of my tired mind. Btw, I want to be interested in Frank, I'm just not interested yet. I am willing to be sucked in, however.

want to share this :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3yeN9CqQYqg&feature=channel

Yoo Seungho duets with IU, Believe in Love.
He has a nice voice ( I always love IU's voice btw )!

News from Kbites :
"The 2 had traveled to Sri Lanka recently for KBS 1TV ‘Love’s Request’. And for the show, the 2 also sang a duet song together. The lyrics of the song are written with reference to the diary which Yoo SeungHo wrote during his trip to Sri Lanka where he witnessed the lives of orphans of war."

I like YSH, he surely has potentials, and by watching the clip, my respect for him folds 10 times..
Maybe he should release single sometimes, but keep his priority in acting, because I bet he has bright future as a great actor.

PS. people keeps comparing him as Little So Jisub, while I can see the resemblance, I think he's better looking. I love SJS, he has tons of charisma, but IMO YSH has better look...but not yet charisma like SJS has.
*don't hate me, I love them both! :P *

The first was episode 29 the first 10 minutes edited down to fit the almost 5min song.

The second was episode 31 the first 15 minutes edited down to the almost 6 minute song.

This one is taken from 8 minutes of episode 32 footage and shaved down to 3.5 minutes. It is the kiss scene. And it looks like it has passed without many restrictions. Worldwide release except Germany :)

Okay I watched Hotelier 2. I don't hate Dramafever, I mean.. I'm okay with the watching ads for content. But I'd be even more happy if my computer could override marketers need to blast your ears (The stupidity of some marketers knows no bounds. If it's louder I must listen and buy? Um no. I turn on mute and curse your brand forever)
But I do have a different problem. It might take me like 4 hours to watch one episode of a show. I get distracted easily or I just can't sit still or maybe a scene is just so good it stops me in my tracks and I will literally pause and walk away. Dramafever then decides in that amount of time that it will reload back to the beginning... yay. . .

So Hotelier 2. I think Jin Young was right in every aspect of things she did. Like, she had every reason to bitch at the restaurant if she wanted to. I don't know if jumping out of a vintage (how did he get that) car in the middle of the desert in a country you don't know and could get killed in is such a great idea. But the previews have me to believe that only Korean people use that road - she's gonna get picked up by the Frankster. He's so cool and all. He's been looking for a spunky hot headed girl. Las Vegas is so full of prudes you know. My favorite character now is Jenny. She is a loose cannon and could destroy everyone around her. Oh please don't water her down when she gets off the plane.. she does get to come along, right? (fingers crossed)

@Leonardswench: Ah, thanks for the clarification. It's noticeable at times in episode 2 that some scenes were stolen, but it's not too distracting. I'm guessing there are patches of houses around Las Vegas. I'm not used to seeing a house with a yard so very close to the center of the city. To me it would be more understandable that they lived in a cramped ghetto apartment (but where would Tae Jun store his sweet ride)

Laughing my pants off over here, the expressions in conjuction with the lyrics of the song - priceless.

@epyc
Watched two episodes of Bad Guy back to back and seriously it's so much better an experience this way, I was glued to the screen. You're doing well banking it to savour it in fewer sittings. May aswell make the most of KNG while we still have him, sniff!
Those Coffee Prince clips were adorable, thanks! It's weird how I'd forgotten scenes like those and only remembered the rarer angsty ones.

@janna
Re Hotelier: Eeeh, thou doth protest too much.
Re Cat: I'm SO damn fed up with Sung-mo right now! I guess he likes sauntering off into dark corners and remaining completely silent and then getting himself into risky life and death situations. Going to try finding him tomorrow morning before work and then again after work I'm going to get a broom out and force him out of hiding whilst shrieking ''yaaah, yaaah, yeesungmoyaaaah!. Soon as I find him this time he goes straight back into his basket and back to the previous owner for a trade-in with his sister. She looks exactly the same and I've been told she's much more sociable. I mean at least he should make a sound so I don't have to worry he's stuck somewhere horribly or ran away from the house completely. No, I doubt he's left completely, he's still somewhere. Sorry sonny, for taking you away from your mother, don't swear revenge on me now. (Remind me to lock away all knives and sharp objects.) Cats!

It's slow to load but it's worth it, you're gonna love iiiit. ;)
(I'm so glad 'this' era is now over for these two characters. Good riddance.)

@hotelier: Fine, fine, fine. I know I'm not supposed to really think or nitpick with this show. Hey, the thugs that chased after them were interracial. So.. there's that. I'll just make it up as I go along. New ending: Jenny burns down the Hotel Seoul. It's gonna happen.

@supah: I know you don't want to hear this, but cats usually like being in pairs. I used to have two brothers. They still get along well (I shared them with my older sister and she took 'em when she moved). The cats I have now are of no relation and different age so of course they want out of each others business all the time unless it's bonding at food time or playing who gets to sleep on my head time. What's this link. It better not be lovin-I can clearly see these lyrics. Oh man it didn't even load at all. Jokes on you, fool! Some sort of mystical internet power won't allow this to go down. Neverrrrr! (Oh and when I got the cats I have now, both hid in separate places and hated me for an entire month. You just need to get a steady stream of snacks going. Snacks = loyalty)

@supah: Oh and about the poster. Oh man the bowtie guy is scary as heck. Did they just run out of room for Jung-shik or hadn't decided who to cast yet? Because I can't even begin to think who that could be... hasn't Jung-shik bought all the bowties in a 10 mile radius anyways?!

@ Gigi, watched episodes 1 and 2 of Last Scandal of My Life/Last Romance:

WOW. Laughed a lot, lot, lot more than I expected to, and how cute is Jung Joon Ho and Choi Jin Shil together? I loved the chemistry from scene 1 (isn't he? isn't she? weird, it looked like him/her?) together, but then, I'm a fan of both actors. I did get a little weepy at a few lines of CJS, again, but this time around, I was able to laugh a lot more and not be so caught up in the off-screen reality.

SPOILERS from here:

My favorite part? Her hair, her make-up, and nearly every face she makes. When you take a woman that beautiful and she pulls of the ultimate ajumma without missing a beat, what can you say? Love the Hong Sun Hee character! Falling asleep at the ob/gyn, is that even possible?? Seriously more fun than any rom-com-dram that I've watched recently. Vaginal lift? Didn't know it was possible, but I was roflmfao!

Jae Bin, the lovable cad, is too cute for words (I know, huge JJH fan and it shows) but I love it best when he gets in over his head (aka, the "I'm yours for the night for the price" scene). His comedic timing and amazing facial gymnastics are why I love him, and they are on full display as he flips from haughty movie star to fan-friendly star to 'omg-that's my ex' panicker , all in one scene.

No complaints; fast pacing, good chemistry between all the players (wanted to smack the mother-in-law every time she opened her mouth, and who doesn't want a best friend who really is a best friend? love the gal next door ajumma!), and very little filler dialogue/scenes.

I'm loving it!

Sigh, I wake up to find my last two vids have caused my very first warning on that account. Sigh... And that they are now disabled. I need to come up with a better location for uploads. Sigh...maybe just go with a server for storage and download and call it a day. I have no intention to start mass copy write infringement. Only promoting and showing off the goofier side of a specific show for a few days. :(

Oh well, I'm off to go watch my streaming dramas now :)

@janna
Thanks, I don't know whether I could handle pairs. As it turns out he'd been hiding under my bed from yesterday afternoon to today morning, and he's the first thing my groggy eyes caught sight of in the morning, so he didn't run too far from me after all. I guess I'm ok with anti-social, reclusive types, he can stay. I'll just leave his things out and let him do his own thing, he is house-trained really well, so *shrug*, easier for me (the kitchen is off limits though, I'm not pulling it apart for him again). We'll get used to each other eventually, I'm game.
Tiger (my previous cat) was stray and wouldn't leave me even when I tried, he was really affectionate and was never this much of a snob, but oh well.

The video didn't load? Dammit! I knew it was slow, it takes a few minutes for it to buffer up but not load at all? Dammmn! I so want you to see it. There's a link if you scroll down that related vids tab to a really neat Edelweiss MV with all the kid actors (all taken from episodes 5-8), that's relatively faster.
Yeah, that must be Jung-shik's semi-completed illustrated version then, it's definitely not Baek-po, looks nothing like him, he wears bow ties too y'know. (I can't believe I keep calling him Baek-pul, which is the OTP in GoS, d'oh!).

@ ockoala

i finished THnK late last night.... and i absolutely loved it. it just felt like a simple and genuine love story - no evil crazy characters trying to sabotage their every move, no best friend turned backstabber, no trickery. sigh. on to HnH now. at this rate I'll be watching HnH2 live. crap. gotta slow it down lols.
