Yes, it's snowing where I live too ! (France) It melted yesterday, but I think it will stay this time. I hope there will be at least 10 cm of snow monday !! (so that the teachers won't be able to come lol).
Ack! Giant is (for me) just now getting good, and now the websites with english subs are getting iffy on me. I am not a big fan of WAT.tv and sometimes can't get their videos to load up. I was so desperate I watched a RAW episode. While I could gather from the actions and music what was going on, there were some moments when something dramatic was being said and I'm left in the dark. Just had to scream in frustration.
Also, the very last scene of Secret Book made no sense to me whatsoever. Can someone explain to me what happened to him?
Finally finished watching the last two episodes of Joseon X-Files and it was AWESOME. This drama was well produced: great actors and fantastic writing. This is definitely one of my favorite k-dramas.
Javabeans: PLEASE recap the last two episodes soon! I eagerly await your thoughts on episode 12, the final. I have few interpretations on the ending but I'm not completely convinced in my interpretation. I need another voice to either confirm, clarify, or refute. My initial thought after the final scene was "huh...what just happened..." I was curious to see how the drama would end and I'm satisfied.
On a different topic, I am just adoring Secret Garden. So far, it is so well done and the actors are just fantastic. The dynamic between the two leads are great and I'm also enjoying Oska. Previews of Hyun Bin acting like a female is just priceless...
Hi everyone! For those that are in the States(and/or American) belated Happy Thanksgiving. Hope you had a wonderful holiday and must needed rest during this time.
Oh how Kdramas have gotten their act together this latter half of the yr! Secret Garden is wonderful, M3 is adorable, Giant is holding strong and JXF is better than I ever imagined! On top of all the many tangible things in my life to be thankful for, I can't help but be reminded that kdramas definitely make the top 5 on my list. You guys too! Thank you everyone for being fellow buddies in my drama watching life.
Whether we watch the same dramas, recommend dramas, agree to disagree, squee or laugh hysterically at our own and others comments or quotes, my drama life is much lovelier with you in it.
I just started on secret garden this weekend, currently on ep 2. I like it but not that much.
is jxf that good? seems like a lot of people like. I don't know if sci-fi is my thing though.
you are so so sweet! I'm also thankful for kdramas and this site as well!
You know it is really good. If you don't want to watch right away read a recap here on DB. My drama buddy started it and didn't love it as much as me until ep 6 or so. I think that if you love a mystery, a good solid story, and beautiful scenery, its for you. And I don't know about alot of other people but what draws me to dramas is the literary context. This drama has so much woven in it that its great to pick and tear at. I can't say this is the case for everyone but that's what has me watching.
I'm still on vacation so I haven't watched the last 2 eps but I will sit down with icecream and a coffee when I get home and savor. I'm so excited! It's in my 2010 Top 5!
friday was great!! I stayed up all night watching kdramas lol. catching up bc I couldn't sleep. I've been so so busy these days that I haven't been able to watch anything for awhile. But I get my updates and recaps here! I ate a lot on Thursday, well this whole weekend and then went Black Friday shopping at walmart, target and sears. It was so cold!!! and fun. I usually don't go black friday shopping because of the lines but this year I just feel more adventurous and just want to try out new things.
I enjoyed reading all of the "you know when you are addicted to kdramas." lol... all I can say is I love dramabeans.com! because I can share my thoughts, well, mostly read others' thoughts and javabeans' thoughts on kdramas.
I keep on thinking of Minho nowadays whenever I eat beef or meat in general and I try to smell and savor it, lol.
Other websites aren't as in depth and has too much kpop or idol stuff, which im not into.
i just like dramas in general.
im late for open thread but I just wanted to drop by.
and i can't believe it's sunday!!! i want to cry, I do not want to do hw and go to class on Monday.
ehhhhh
Quick take on Episodes 6 of The Oska Show (i.e. Secret Garden, Starring OSKA!!!)
Even with the identity switch, OSKA PWNS ALL. Oska is the K-drama equivalent of Jack Sparrow. He comes into a scene and destroys it without realizing he's bumped over everybody. I love it. I love Oska. Gawd I love Oska. (I even love Oska's brief flirtation with Yaoi) It's like a K-drama parody of Song Seung Heon, except here SSH looks like Kimura Takuya's twin brother.
The switch is funny, but it's not Hong Sisters funny. It's fun watching Ha Ji Won get to play The Dude (and yes it's delicious watching HJW's trademark sensuality being knowingly exploited among the various characters), but you can't help but think Kim Sun Ah would turn this into a laugh riot. Binnie is almost doing an impression of 2AM's Jo Kwon here, and there's definitely SQUEE watching Binnie finally lay out his Pretty Boy-ness in all its bashful, sweet glee. Marvelous. But -- I don't know -- it started to feel tired. That is, until . . .
They do this shtick AGAINST OSKA. Then it becomes The Switch becomes Hong Sisters Funny. Oh Oska (aka Jack Sparrow)!!!
fffffffffff pull the trigger. CPY is like the Joker - debonair...and crazy as hell. Girl, you go right ahead and write yer dang resignation. Sheeeesh. I also enjoyed the little quips of third tier characters present comical romance timez.
So, when do we know it's business time? Leather gloves of course! I'll never look at the back of someones head in the same way again.
I think the elevator scene deserves a crazy caption challenge of some sort. Lets make up stupid reasons why they just can't be. (I sobbed! ....I lied.)
Ok, now I need to find Nagareboshi. Quick Yutaka, punch all the other dudes in this show because they're worthless. Worthless!
Also I watched Saengchori <3
Phantom of the Opera - it's gonna get our Maths back.
The third tier characters were funny, particularly the one who lost his shoe and something else mid-fight. but it has to be said bro, SM was the real riot this episode. Guess they like to do this with him sometimes, that is to unexpectedly elicit laughs just before things go epic levels of insane on him. (OMO, this episode was INSANE!)
1) HTS had me in tears during their tet-e-tet, but then as the convo went on it took a more violins and woe-is-me turn... And then SM slams the table and shouts the Korean equivalent of: ''Cut. The. Crap!'' Then silence. (Best. Scene. Ever!)
2) The mysterious case of the bullet-proof vest -- you see it, now you don't. That was hysterical. Maybe it was purposeful in the same way as Jung-shikee's glasses. It's black, it's white, it's W, it's B…
ok picked up Secret Garden this week cuz i just couldn't wait anymore. Trying to watch it slowly so that I can last till this weekend (since i saw the spoilery picture JB posted this morning haha)... and I'm sure it's been mentioned before but.... is it just me or is Binnie scarily skinny?! i mean, i feel like his face is SO skinny. granted, i'm remembering him from MNIKSS days but dang... really...
He's still so uber hot though...
oh and i got a Yummy header right when I got onto DB's site and it made me stop and smile and kind of lose my mind for a bit... <3 Are there Yummy+Moony banners yet?! omg time to troll thru DB's header page....

My rant must have reached the ears of the K-Drama Gods, as I've stumbled upon a website that has the English subs I need.
Oh, I'm not up to date at all. I'm waaaay back there where the siblings have just realized that they're siblings.
