this drama is so terrible...

the storyline is bad, the writing is bad, the acting of two of the main characters(i mean yeh and the kid that plays sanghee) is bad also. even the chemistry between the two supposed main love interests is bad! agggghhhhh...

like some people have mentioned, the storyline now looks like it is just going to be a copy of kim sam soon, now that the director has said in interviews that he is going to try and change the focus of the story to the romantic plot. if the storyline is unoriginal, at least the writing should be good, but it's not. the actors lines are sparse and unwitty, with awkward silences galore. the dialogue does not flow naturally at all, i can actually imagine the whole camera crew in there with the actors watching the scene, geez.

kang ji hwan is a good actor. i know this. but i think his strength is playing quirky charismatic roles that have strong character. he always seems to have this detached air that takes away from any chemistry that he is supposed to have with his leading ladies. even in coffee house, i did not think he had good chemistry with park shi-yeon. he is a good "scene kisser" compared to some other korean male actors, so i think this is sometimes mistaken for "chemistry", which i don't think it is... (well, just my opinion, i know.) anyways, maybe with a better script he could do a better job at creating some chemistry but not here. he actually has better chemistry with yoonjoo, the anti-heroine. this is actually saying a lot, because although YEH is not the world's greatest actress, she has been able to build up her acting career thus far mostly based on her ability to create believable chemistry with her leading men. one thing she is really good at is conveying a certain sense of vulnerability in her characters, which makes her more winsome to her audience and to the viewers too... well it's just not working here.

as for yoon eun-hae herself... i am so sad for her. i did not watch the previous "lady-bodyguard" drama she did so i thought her acting had improved with coffee prince. she still had a ways to go but she still did a really good job with that role. so i'm so disappointed with "lie to me". the way she delivers her lines is just off the mark, which adds to the awkward tone to each scene, and even the crying sounds that she makes sounds fake. plus what is wrong with her stylist?? she looks so much worse than any of the other actresses in this drama, including the bit-parts! especially her hair... ugh i can't stand it.

sanghee dude just looks so much like a kid to me, despite his tall height and deep voice and floppy long hair (almost like a wig!)... i just can't even see him as being a factor at all in any of the romances of this plot.

*all right, rant ended. sorry to all y'all who are fans of YEH and KJH, this is just my humble personal opinion of course.*

lie to me is the only one drama that i can watch without a sub hhee...seeing those two makes my heart melt and jump....i am addicted aaa Monday i cant wait....ice cream and cola wow such a nice combination....hope there is candy kiss eeeee... sweet sweet sweet....

All I can say is wow. That kissing scene made my heart go all over the world and wish it was me.

The ex-girlfriend... I don't like either. I think she is selfish and wants what she wants without thinking about other people.

You can tell that the two's energy doesn't jive whereas YEH and KJH really explodes with energy...

The kiss was awesome (seriously, I watched it like 20 times today).

You can tell that they have a different PD now... I mean, the quality of the drama was just raised on this 2 last episodes, especially the 8.

I wished we had this dynamic since the first episode because even though I've sincerely liked Lie To Me since its first episode (I mean, Its KJH AND YEH, I'm easy like that ;)) I did think that it was their chemistry that was carrying the drama and especially her funny personality...
But now, we have a more dramatic setting; the lie is out (not only hers but So-Ran's marriage lie too and it makes me think that they will patch up their relationship over this) and the drama will have to start to move on to deeper things.

What comes after the lie is out? She is obviously in love with him but he is confused about his feelings for her and Yoon Ju (whom I seriously hate because of the actress... her acting is damn annoying, especially when you compare her to YEH) I hope that they dont do something stupid and have them JUST forget everything and like each other... mehhh... im hoping for something...

"A la... Kim Sam Soon" You know, there is much potential for the triangle between those 3.

Accckk... Sang-Hee... sigh... I seriously love the innocent puppy faces that he makes, but he is mighty annoying with his attitude. Let me point out that HE IS NOT over Yoon Ju and even though he is taking some likeing to Ah Jung, he isnt doing it because of her but because he wants Yoon Ju to be happy. His acting was not that of a person who was jealous for her but whom was acting like Ki-Joon was someone else's property. I hope he grows up... I mean, I dont want the story repeating itself. What? Ki Joon giving up the woman he loves because of his brother's immaturity? No way, Jose... that would be too dramatic for a Rom Com.

PS: Sorry for the long post but I just had to let it out somewhere. ^_^. Also wasnt YEH's acting in episode 8, AWESOME?? Oh! and I cant stop thinking that Ki Joon's cute secretary looks like a bunny.

I have been watching this drama from the beginning. Although it did not get a high rating like the other dramas that's airing on the same day as this one but I still love it very much. I understand that everyone like different thing n it jux happen that this drama is not ur taste. Now that there are also lots of people making comparison on the drama they like to this one. Overall I jux want to say if u like it then support it but if u don't then that's fine with it & plz give this drama a break.

I am glad that the lie is out. Its interesting how So ran and Ah Jung are kinda in the same position just trying to one up each other. It puts them on a good base to rebuild their friendship^^ I kinda hate the younger brother atm seriously can't you just pick one woman, also angry at ki joon for this.
The kissing is really good in this drama, what is the count now like 3?? keke. I can't say its the best drama or the worst drama, but I still like it ^o^

I agree this drama has faults and holes. (plenty of them... ha ha) But it has been fun to watch and I can forget the real world for an hour or so. It is a pretty good light entertainment! Can't wait to watch ep 9.

for me SANG HEE was only upset for what his brother had done to YOON JUN. Yoon Jun looks very happy when she opened the door because she was expecting that it was Joon Ki. And when he got to Joon Ki's house he saw them very sweet. maybe he only feel responsible for what happened to them a years ago..

FOR JOON KI i hate him for what he did... HE MAKES AH JUNG expect for something but IN the end HE choose Yoon Jun...

I REALLY HATE THIS EPISODE poor AH JUNG.....

Some says that Lie to ME is boring but really it's not yet finish maybe in the next episodes that will be airing will be more interesting. And some people might that way but for me when I first watch the first episodes I already had a good feeling that will be really interesting drama. I hope for more interesting scenes in the next episodes.

I agree.. I'm basically watching this because of Yoon Eun-Hye and Kang Ji Hwan.
So Ran was and is pathetic but now she's more like pitiful.
Before she got to my nerves but now she's more like a scene to skip... unnecessary and dragging.
Yoon Ju as now the one starting to get on my nerves... I don't know why, prolly because I know sometime in the near future she'll be frustrated at loosing both guys since she was the one they were fighting for before.

I have to admit though... their kissing scenes are HOT! specially that one with the coke and everything. xD

In defence of the cliche filled tedium of this drama...

I recall CityHall didn't find it's groove until nearing the mid way point and then it just became the AWESOMEST drama rom/com ever, so lets just wait and see.

(Of course, then you have stuff like Mary Stayed Out All Night, which I was SO looking forward to, ripping out my positivity with each episode and the decending into the chaos that it will now be forever remembered for...)

YEH is really great in emotional scenes, she got me totally invested and crying with her.

The intro part was all lovey dovey and I really like it but there was still no direct proclamation of love from HGJ to GAJ. I was really liking HIS character but with yoon jo on the look out and without closure on her part, I see HGJ as a player. I n the end, he chose Yoon Jo which was just too sad for GAJ leading to her revelation of their fake marriage.

We are finally seeing some real action and real situations here ! LOVED THIS EPISODE!!! No preview and we are in the middle of the drama . No more fake marriage , i'm dying to know what's going to happen next !

The tempo has picked up and since there is no preview for Episode 9, almost everyone's imagination are running wild with their own scenarios.

They had us thirsting (pun not intended) for more, more, more, and more of the same roller coaster ride.

Ok, now my thoughts, lol. I never found the filler particularly annoying (I like the cute assistant and the random singing girl at the restaurant) but Yoon Joo is starting to work my nerves. I know Sang Hee is starting to bother some too but not me. I'm trying to figure out what his deal is because I'm not sure that it's just jealousy (or jealousy at all). There's more to it and I can feel it, lol.

YEH and KJH are great but I hope the characters don't lose their minds and it becomes another show altogether now that the BIG LIE plotline is dead. I know there isn't much happening in this story but at least they should keep the writing consistent. Don't go all wacky like it happened with the Mary Stayed Out All Night storyline!

I read some comments and I find many of them amusing. Just because we watch a drama does not make us fans. So if we do give a critique, it's probably because we are invested in the show so we so want it to get better. In other words, to the hard-core fans of LTM out there, chill.

I do agree with many comments about the drama and I think the discerning ones have hit the nail on the head. It's an average drama with lazy writers who think they can up viewership with kiss scenes, and they are right on the money. But the ratings won't change the fact that this drama lacks depth with regards to characterization. For the life of me, I still don't understand why or how Joon Ki started to fall in love with Ah Jung. And for those who noted the bench near-kiss to be right after her puking session, wow! I'm so glad I wasn't the only one to have thought the scene to be icky.

LTM thrives because of shippers, but seriously, superior writing is found in Best Love.

It took forever to finish watching this episode. The last 5 or 10 minutes of this episode were so difficult to watch... I kept cringing FOR her. I don't know how they'll recover from this, but of course I'll try to keep watching until the end. At this point the only thing holding this drama together for me is KJH and YEH, but if it's going to drag out the angst I might have to bail.

It's true there's no chemisrty between YJ and KJH whatever angle I look at it it doesn't really click.Anmd I have no idea why KJH and his brother made them like her.It's makes me pukes. The acting is so bad even though she cries it doesn't have that effect to carry the audience to cry w/her. But anyway I watch it for KJH and YEH sake. This two are awesome together.

Did anyone else get the Coffee House reference in ep 8? Where Ki joon says to Ah jung "you want me to eat and die?" when she hands him porridge. Because that's what Kang ji whan's character on Coffee house would always say to Ham Eun jung's character when she made him coffee.
