lols, yeah, me too... i had always wanted to drop in first but sadly never even made to top 5. hope you won't mind me hitching in this spot :)

and this blog is like kdrama addiction, you just can't get over it.

loving the fact that LSG will be gracing Best Love. and wow, this drama is getting me in a roller coaster ride. i can't agree more with girlfriday that we love LSG but darn it if it wan't dear Cha on Best Love.

and also, to those needing softsubs, Best Love, City Hunter and all dramas are subbed at super fast speed at this site:

If you're looking for even faster subs of Best Love, you can find them over on Viki. The video channel is down but the softsub page is thankfully up.

Actually, for Greatest/Best Love the usual sub release pattern is:

1. Darksmurf releases computer-translated BL subs. These are really fast, but there's definitely plenty of clunky bits.

2. Humans start going in and cleaning up those subs, so at any given moment the subs you download are likely to be more accurate than they were a little bit ago.

3. ViKi subs get released.

4. Humans finish editing the Darksmurf subs.

There's pros & cons to any of the "fast" versions of the subs depending on whether you prefer speed, accuracy, a particular translation style, etc.

Drama addiction, there should be a support group or fundraiser. I love these new shows. I hope Lee Min ho's revenge plot is successful unlike A man called god (still pulling my hair out about that one). I wanna see more of LSG and shin min ah, but alas I don't get to decide these things.

Ooh! I'm so excited for City Hunter after reading the recap!

... it could just be the multiple shots of Lee Min-Ho looking hot and badass, but I think this one will be the one that gets me actually watching. Its a bit of a hassle to get a hold of dramas where I live and I've been busy lately, so I've ended up just reading recaps. Best Love has almost tempted me, but I think a hot guy on a righteous vendetta of justice is just what I need.

Yay, Korea! Thank you for making awesome things. And yay JB and GF for enabling me to become addicted to those awesome things.

I love CYHMH! Kim Jae Won is killing me with his bipolarity as Dong Joo: the long-suffering son of a vindictive mother or a happy-go-lucky chaebol. Multi-faceted characters are the best.

Also, Joon Ha. I found myself crying when he ran into his halmeoni and she was like "my baby!" And he wasn't sure how to react at first. And I never cry watching TV. I can't even hate Joon Ha for being selfish, because we can see how weak he is.

And the bromance between those two - absolutely amazing. I like how they can go from joking to serious to being totally dependent on one another. But in the end they only want want what's best for one another.

Woo Ri is slightly less interesting because she's just so GOOD. But I like that she stands up for her family, no matter what.

Woori is a bit flat as a character. :p She was more interesting as a kid when she was all like "you must be thinking what a sly fox my mom is".

Ah, honestly, HJM's performance is kind of killing the drama for me. It's like she has only 2 and a half facial expressions:
enthusiastic ("Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" *insert a 180 degrees bow)
Angry ("bwoh?! yah! insret-male-character's-name-yah!")

But I love all 3 males - Dongjoo, Joonha & Seungchul.
Dongjoo - damn, he's not the prettiest flower I've seen, but he has so much on-screen charisma! And his voice & smile just make me love him. Plus, his character is actually well-developed and engaging.

JoonHa... I love his character the best. Cause he's just so damn believable. I can understand him - his selfishness, his sacrifice, his grief, his love... <333

Mother is effin amazing. Love her. Love love love. Though I hate her just alittle bit for planning to hurt Joonha.

I've to disapprove of HJE's performance.
As 1... is the character's setting and her performance have been improving since ep 13.. because the director cut down her yelling and that's great.

I think she's great with her crying scenes and the quiet scenes. I think she improved quite a lot since her high kick days. She's very emotive in my opinion.

Best kdrama for this season, runner up will be best love and the rest are just ordinary to me.

Oh finally someone who felt for JunHa as well...it was so sad seeing his expression whenever he runs into his father and grandma...

Also feel Woori is boring....she looks godawful in that bowlcut and those clothes really don't flatter her too....

The mother is great...just hope she comes to her senses and not hurt JunHa...she gotta feel something after raising him for so many years...

If there is a god in Dramaland, Mother will end up not damaging JH/MR for revenge. And if she does, I will get on a time/space/reality-crossing craft, hunt her down, and KILL her.

Of all the people in the show, the person who has the most to lose is JH/MR. Seriously, this beatiful man is more likely to be destroyed in Mother's hands than a glass hammer.

Action! Heart-breaking second leads! And the archetypal evil villain! Ooh, and if you understand Hindi, then an added bonus: the dialogues are soooooo bad-ass!

Ugh, i know right? That would be... just... so, wrong. BUt then, theyu never venture beyond that golden quartet do they? Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor and Ash, in a big-budget film.

Off the top my head, i don't know if you've seen it, but there is this film called 'Rock On!' (good movie, btw, check it out :D ) the woman who plays the fisherwoman wife, she's also in Dido's video, she really struck me as a perfect new Basanti.

0

Shahana Goswami!!!! Loved her and then never saw her in another movie again. :-(
I know the K entertainment world probably has it's fair share of drama (don't need to look further than Best Love) but I doubt anything could be as blood boiling infuriating as the nepotism in bollywood and how good talent gets ignored.

0

Agreed. It is so tiring when every generation of stars ONLY consists of Kapoors and Khans and the like. The problem with this is that our generation likes them so much that we seek to emulate them, and adulate them beyond all deserved levels. You need look no further than Koffee with Karan to see that some of them are really just rich airheads looking for their twenty minutes of fame.

Which is why i respect people like Shahana, or Aamir Khan. He does so much, and granted some of them might be PR stunts... but he does so much good for the country, in his own way. I really respect him for it.

0

Exactly!!! It's tiring ... And they don't provide anything new or inventive .... Bollywood honestly can not become a world player unless it becomes a meritocracy.

Don't get me started on Koffee With Karan! :-(

I also love Aamir Khan. He honestly seeks to provide intelligent entertainment. He really wants the viewers to get value for their money.

0

The only ovie i've seen recently, and LOVED, is Dhobi Ghat. I saw it twice because... it struck a chord inside me, yunno? I i'm a Mumbaikar born and bred so for me it was even more that just a well made film. It was a love song. To Bombay. And i gotta be honest, it proved Prateik was more than just an utterly gorgeous face.

The idiots who made movies like No entry and Golmaal need to take a leaf from Aamir's book.

I didn't watch LTM. So no comment. No time.

But I've been watching Manny...personally I think it's a bit boring...LOL. But I'm still watching cos there's only 4 epi left. I started cos this was the earliest of May's offerings.

BFB have been better since epi 5/6 ... Daniel is cute and dorky. JNR still looks awful with her haircut...but the story's been building up nice these past few episodes... The love triangle is also going on strong...just that the lie is right now still there...but it's gonna burst next epi I think.

I don't think I have the stamina to follow City Hunter now...and since it's a thriller..I guess it's best I marathon it when it's complete.

Just buzzed by here and caught your comment re:Romance Town.
I like (not love) it but it's entered into nutsyland after seeing ep 5.

Alert! SPOILER AHEAD! (kinda - once it's subbed it's okay to say, right?) Anyway....

The "Clark Kent eyeglasses disguise" syndrome has apparently hit the writer's room. How is it that our lead can get a free makeup job, throw on a few expensive duds and not be totally recognized by FIVE close friends?!?! In an elevator? And she speaks! No one can figure it out from 12" away?! And she's still wearing her maid shoes!
The only thing truly different about her appearance was the pony-tail hair extension. C'mon, SHOW - really?!

I feel better now. Lazy plot devices like this drive me nuts.

Required fields are marked *

I know how you feel. I was major wtf-ing in that part of the episode. How can they not recognise her, considering how long she's spent with them? I can see why if it was from a distance, but not up close, like in the elevator. Although they did make sung yuri really pretty.

0

reply

Required fields are marked *

Me, too.
She didn't have bangs, and the eye make-up was really pretty, but come on! The shape of her face, any dots she had, her TEETH! Her voice, the way she phrases things.
I just kept saying, "You're an IDIOT!"

I skimmed 6 just looking to see if there was a kiss........................................................................................................
:/ I think this from now on is going to be a dl skimmer.

0
2
reply

Required fields are marked *

I know. even I had bangs put in recently and though people said I looked different, I was still recognised quite a distrance away (and I wear quite a bit of make up). This takes suspension of disbelief quite far. I thought min hyo-rin's character might have at least clocked on because didn't she chuck sung yuri's shoes at one point and saw them in the elevator? they must all have really low iq or something. I really hope they don't drag out this plotline because it's going to annoy me immensely.

0

I also watched all of 6 instead of skimming and must say the 'not recognizing her' stupidity is small in comparison to how AWESOME this cast is. Seriously.

Love the Loan Shark and all the maids.

They spent time with the supporting cast and I fell back in love with the show.

I still don't like Rich Son, but I guess his development needs to happen slowly to get through the series.

Young Maid/Rich Girl? Still on fence. I like her best with Loan Shark. I'm telling you she could be his Emma to her Mr. Knightley.

I really enjoyed Episode 5 of Romance Town probably because of how all the relationships were shown.

As to SG's 'new look' I think it was to show how rigid the 'friends' thinking is ie. there's no way their friend could afford a look like that. The look was totally different and the other maids were seeing her from the back most of the time so if if she hadn't spoken and had new shoes as well I think she could have pulled it off more convincingly.

I've just started watching episode 6. It's so good I had to come here and add to the above. Watch and you'll forget about the 'jerk' and if you're like me you'll also forget why the maid went to the department store in the first place:)

Well, she did look dramatically different with the wig and all, but like you said, when she spoke they all should have recognized her.

I think it would have been interesting if Jerk Boy had known who she was all along.

And speaking of "Jerk Boy" - c'mon! He had his face right into hers for the majority of their scenes - all that soulful staring and he couldn't recognize her with eyeshadow and a ponytail?!

Cripes. If changing one's appearance was that easy, we'd all be living wild times. (I think I'll use that ponytail disguise to get out of making dinner tonight for the family...)

This is why I'd like to cheerfully CHOKE SHOW!
This kind of non-disguise gimmick is a slap to my brain.

I think the writers have missed the mark a bit with jerk boy or (as I think of him) was-HUGE- but-now-is-buff-boy's character. They could have written a whole drama just based around him and his discovery of life after obesity. At the moment it feels to me as if they wasted the fat suit.

And if you hadn't guessed it I am a major fan of Jung Gyu Woon ie. was-HUGE- but-now-is-buff-boy.

Excuse my previous post. Episode 6 has done it for me:)

I'm still sad about the last ep of 49 Days. It ruined the drama for me, and now I won't even be able to rewatch it. I loved it SO MUCH right up to the last ep... *sigh*

Watched 1 ep of Baby Faced Beauty and something like 6 of Manny before bailing, though I may pick them up again when the good dramas run out. :-)

Right now I am loving Best Love. I am so glad the lead actor was changed out; I wasn't wild about the first choice, but Cow Beard seemed even worse; couldn't see him in a romantic comedy AT ALL. But I stand corrected! He is rocking that drama. And he has amazing chemistry with the lead actress!

Tentatively liking Lie to Me, and waiting for Romance Town to get off the ground properly...

Planning to look in on City Hunter and My Love By My Side, too. :-)

I'm actually watching 49 days again. Well sort of . It's up to episode 14 tonight and this week I really felt badly about the ending. Like it didn't match up. Last week though after seeing episode 12 again I didn't mind, but last night started with the hug and ended with scheduler finding out he's yi su and I was a bit upset for han kang who was so busy trying to find out how to make ji-hyun's father have the surgery etc. Gah! But it was nice to see them in better days too.
I too can't wait for smile mom to come off the air and my love by my side to start. I love kim mi sook and the lead actress.

I'm glad you're still able to enjoy the earlier eps! :-) Depending on the ending, I can sometimes do that too, but in this case, it just destroyed all of the previous build-up in such a way that it'd just be painful to watch again.

I can see the narrative logic, on one level. But it just doesn't feel right to me. To me, it's an extremely, humongously unsatisfying way to end it all, not to mention the tacked-on contrived other plots that suddenly shot up. But those I could live with. (Trying not to put spoilers here, that makes it a bit vague. *g*)

My Love By My Side is already up to ep 6 - maybe you're thinking of a different drama?

When I first read the end of episode 19 I was very sad but not angry when I read and saw episode 20 I loved the way everything played out. I liked the pacing the things they chose to put in it and to me it ended well. I always expected a sharp snap back to reality for han kang something like it would be revealed that yi kyung is just a girl who reminded him of ji hyun and she has actually died and then everything else that was happening would come to fruition and yi kyung riding off in to the sunset with min ho. Soooo my expectations were pretty low.

On the cable channel in nyc "the korean channel" tkc/sbs smile mom is still showing. I think episodes 41 and 42 this weekend.

Hm, I wasn't expecting anything like that, because the writing and characterization of the drama were so good. I can see how you'd expect some disappointing weirdness like that with a very badly-written drama...

Sometimes it really is best to go in with very very low expectations. It means you won't be disappointed, and may even be pleasantly surprised. :-)

Oh, I see! I can't watch kdrama on any TV channel, unfortunately... good thing there's the internet. :-)

Oh, and you've forgotten something really important:

I think our sanity takes a nice swandive out the window, when we (come on, we've all done it at least once!:P ) watch a makjang drama! :D (Do you hear me, BBF?!)

0

Husband or significant other? Although so far my hubbie seems amused by my addiction.

0

@bourbon: oh yes, sanity. my boss' temper gets tested everyday from hearing crazy kdrama conversations from me and my staff. it's definitely not the kind of team leader she expects me to be. haha! she looks like she asks, "who are you? and what did you do to izzie? and why do you keep on babbling about kdramas?" :D

@Linda 165: the husband of one of my co-workers got addicted to Secret Garden and it drives the wife crazy. I think he's watched SG three times over already, and the wife tells me that everytime the hubby couldn't catch sleep, he watches SG. the hubby wasn't able to resist the pull of the black hole. he's SO caught up in it. :P

Giant is awesome, I agree, and quite an accomplishment to get through it.

I am also currently watching Giant. After finishing Comrades, I decided that I need to finish this giant of a drama. I initially watched this for Lee Bum Soo (huge LBS fan right here!) and he is amazing as the revenge driven second son Lee Kang Mo but I've gotta say, Jang Bo Seok is KILLING it as the ruthless villain of the story.

Forget Mishil, Jo Pil Yeon is even more ruthless and badass. I am so glad that Jang Bo Seok won an award at the Baeksang this year!

Oh, something I've always wondered: I think many people read the recaps before they watch the ep?

I only do that when I'm not liking a drama much, and am wondering whether to skip a couple of eps or give it up entirely. :-) When I'm looking for a drama to watch, and want to get a quick impression of whether this drama could be right for me, I also read the recaps of the first ep (or first few eps), to see.

But otherwise? When I like a drama, or am expecting to like it, I don't want to know what happens before I watch the ep! Instead, I read the recaps after, and enjoy recalling the ep like that.

So when do you read the recaps, and why?

0
24
reply

Required fields are marked *

well, I started looking for recaps because there was a show I was interested in that I couldn't watch because it aired while I was at work and the subbed versions sucked. Of course I couldn't find the recaps but the recaps I did read were of shows that I didn't watch because I thought were ridiculous ( mary stayed out . . . you're beautiful ) then I read recaps of shows I'd watched before and 49 days was the first drama I read recaps of before watching the actual show. I have the best memory and the best habits when it comes to novels and film. I don't mind if you tell me what happens, in fact I prefer it. I very rarely affects if I watch or read it because I usually forget soon and can watch it almost as if the first time.
however this makes me a terrible companion for watching something I recommend I'll "spoil" everything for you with no qualms! Please keep this in mind and "spoil" things for me if I ask you to. Thank you

Okay, I'll remember to spoil you at will! :-) But please don't spoil me - I never forget that kind of thing even when I try, and when I like a show, I want to watch it without knowing what's going to happen...

Required fields are marked *

nah anticipation kills me. honestly I would die if I didn't know what was going to happen when I wanted to know what was going to happen. I usually hold my breath when I get excited. I'm going to have to find why I do that.

Required fields are marked *

That doesn't sound healthy, no. :-) Usually I'm not like that at all, and like the tension. Except when I don't trust the drama not to do something that I absolutely HATE - then, yeah, that's the rare occasion where I might want a spoiler. There are just some things I don't want to watch at all.

0

Guilty as charged. I almost always read the recaps first,
mostly because i don't have the patience to wait for the english subtitles to come out and usually because i want to know whether the episode is worth watching, because unlike javabeans and girlfriend i don't know the secret of time travelling :( The only times when i watch the episode first is when there is a cliff hanger and i want to experience the whole effect, watching how it ends.

0

Required fields are marked *

If it doesn't bother you to be spoiled for the ep, then why not read the recaps first. :-) As it is, I've wasted a lot of time watching bad eps that I could have saved by reading a recap, and will no doubt waste much, much more time the same way...

0

Required fields are marked *

depends. i have already watched multiple times of raw of City Hunter now and am hooked deeply that anything about that drama now is like filling in my addiction.

but Dramabeans angels, please dont feel burden to do the recap. i can totally wait! i'm just hyper right now keke. i'm totally fine if the recap will be out tomorrow, the day after tomorrow or anyday. i'm already so grateful to have u girls recapping the show. but since i lost my mind right now, i'll just continue to refresh this page and continue rewatching the show.

btw, there are dramas for the latest episodes i've read the recap but havent watched them yet.

0
reply

Required fields are marked *

I've always wondered that myself.

In spite of the fact of whether I think I'm going to like the drama or not, I usually watch the episode first and then go back and read the recap. While jb & gf (and guest recappers) write good recaps of the drama, reading a recap (which is somewhat subjective on the writer's behalf) and watching the drama is not the same thing (at least not to me). I guess I just like to draw my own conclusions first before hearing the opinions of jb and gf (I already know I'm too easily influenced).

Now, if it's a drama I'm not heavily invested in or just don't have time for, I just do recaps, but only after I've caught the first episode or so.

0

Required fields are marked *

Good point, with the different points of view on the drama. I also notice sometimes that I interpret things differently from the recapper - and yeah, seeing the recap first (or even just the recap) does make a difference there.

And I don't like to know what happens before I see the episode. It sort of ruins the effect, particularly for plot twists.

I usually read the recaps after watching the episode. When I begun watching dramas I knew nothing about Korean (or Asian, for that matter) culture, so JB and GF's input and comments are always helpful.

Plus I really really really like their writing. It can make any boring drama *coughreturnofiljimaecough* (*ducks for cover*) entertaining.

It depends. Usually I prefer to watch first and read second. Even if i have to watch them raw. If i love the drama, thats not a problem. I have tried to wait for the recap and based on the recap decide if I´ll watch but i always end watching, like City Hunter. If i didnt have time to watch, I read first.

I ended reading 49 days and I enjoyed it equally. I didnt watch Boys Before Flowers, I read it here and it was awesome. If an specific scene interested me, I searched and watched, but only that.

For me, it's a bit erratic. It's 50/50 and it mostly depends on variety of factors: 1. how obsessed am i with it 2. do I have time to watch it first and 3. can get to a faster internet connection that day so watching it won't take 3 times as long?

Or in the case of Lie to Me, I'm super curious as to whether it will get better so I speed-watch it before the recap.

It's sort of hard not to read the recaps first when javabeans and girlfriday often end up posting it within 14 hours of the episode's airing and you know it's there!

If it's the dramas I'm really really excited about...I would watch it then read the recaps and join in the discussions. I love to read JB and GF comments and everyone else's comments too...makes me feel I'm not alone in my love for the drama. But for every new episode I would only read the first paragraph and the comments section...then watch the drama...then come back for the full recpas. I don't like spoilers...I just wanna find out if the epi is good! LOL.

I read recaps for first epi of the dramas I'm on the fence about....if it's so good, then I would watch it when I'm free. It it sucks, well obviously I would skip it.

And now, I'm happily watching many many dramas from my laptop (holidays just started for me! yay!) and I read the recaps after watching an episode to know others opinion on it :D Happy Friday everyone!

Hugs back! I am happy to see you're getting around the world healthy

izzie, I cannot tell you how important it has become to avoid spoilers for BL. Even with all these italics!!

The Hong Sisters have done a phenomonononononononal job keeping us jumping every episode.

Hide your ears, hide your eyes, cause they're surprising everybody up here.

They have done things we couldn't have come up with if we had a million monkeys working at typewriters over a million years.

I have always enjoyed the heartbreak they deliver, as well as the sweet sweet love, but this time, it's.just.so.amazing.

I haven't ever managed to hold out. Oh wait... i watched ep 4 before i read it, and booooooyyyyy was i glad i did!!! *Will not write anything for fear of giving Linda spoilers*

I've read the first two episode recaps of BL, but now I'm really, really keeping myself from reading the subsequent ones. I've learned my lesson well from 49 Days. (will talk about that later.)

Anyway, I'm downloading eps 7 & 8 and I'm sensing a long and enjoyable weekend coming up. :) BL marathon, baby! ;)

Someone else said this better than me that it's the type of show you wish you could go back and re-watch without remembering what happened.

Like the first time I finished Pride and Prejudice.

0

Oh Pride & Prejudice. I've long finished reading it but it's still there in my shelf of books to read again.

Oh, and I wish you good health too... with all that laughing-crying cycles that you (we) go through.

BL ep. 8. Got it. ;)

0

Jomo, in seventh grade my AWESOME English teacher, Mr Henry, lend me his taped version of Colin Firth's Pride and Prejudice. I forgot how many many times I watched that video. My mom got super tired of always seeing it on!

Come to think of it, Mr Henry was also the one who gave me Jane Eyre.. English teachers RULE!

Three cheers for all the English teachers!! :)

I haven't watched any Jang Na Ra nor Choi Daniel dramas before and I must say that I enjoy them act; I have seen Cyrano Agency but Jang Na Ra, zip. I find them really really cute together. The story just need to pick up some more plus develop that lie a lot better. I need them to reveal a lot more. I mean the whole thing so it crumbles already. haha.

here is something to share - jang na ra speaks mandarin.

@mariolawpanda:

same here! my first time to watch jang nara, and my second time to watch daniel choi.

this drama may not have a hot stunning couple as its OTP (like LTM) nor an awesomely amazing brilliant script and lead actors (like BL) but it has charms all its own.

i confess i watched it at first because im also in the design business but i was surprised by the beautiful development of the relationship between the characters of JN and DC. it helped that lee sojin (jang nara's character) is actually 7 years older than daniel choi's character. she was not looking at him romantically in any way due to the age gap (unknown to him) while he was actually trying to exact revenge on her for making his life miserable. but it is in this unlikely set-up that their friendship grew deeper even before any romantic notions got in. for me the easy-going camaraderie between the two is what makes the show very appealing. at this point, we are not even sure if they will actually end up together due to the age gap plus they have this other guy (the company president, who is closer to lee sojin's age) and we see his interest and respect on her growing as well which earns the ire of the resident b**ch. so this sense of unlikelihood and uncertainty also adds up to the mystery...

as for the lie, i think the lie being perpetrated by the female lead here (all because of her baby-face beauty, hence the title) has more weight than the flimsy one in LTM, soooo.... ;-)

anyway, you got to see this show to truly appreciate its hidden charms...

very simple story and entertaining too !.

Happy Friday everyone!!

I FINALLY finished the drama Comrades earlier this week . I was really hesitant to watch the last two episodes because for one, I didn't want the drama to end and two, I didn't want to beat my my heart any longer. But I must say, I am so glad I did.

Comrades is probably one of THE BEST, most gut wrenching and heart wrenching dramas I've ever watched. Period. It is essentially a love story of a squad that will do anything to keep their comrades together and alive. I'm surprised this drama passed by me at first, it was just so low key compared to Road Number 1 but so so so much better.

I'm also kinda pissed that it didn't really win any awards. Jung Tae Woo AT THE VERY LEAST should have won an award for his portrayal of the "coward" Cheon SeongIl. Not even Choi Su Jung as brave, father figure Sergeat Lee won an award. Geez! Too bad they had to go against fellow popular KBS dramas such as Chuno, Sunkyunkwan Scandal and Baker King. For me, this drama has got nothing on those dramas (well, haven't seen Baker King yet). But superb acting on all the actors. I was blown away by everyone, even the minor characters.

I highly recommend this to anyone who loves watching historical dramas, war movies or just drama in general. Not for the weak of heart. I'm not a crier at all but there were scenes were I was sobbing my eyes out. The only time I've ever sobbed watching anything before was the movie Passion of the Christ. So yea...

Happy Friday All! Yesterday made a month at the new job! Which I guess means I can, mostly, stop boring you to tears about it.

Except for this one thing: So I guess I've been asking for the label maker downstairs a lot lately, so the guy who handles all the office supply stuff offered to give me one of my own. A brand new one, no less. I was shocked and touched (you have no idea how much I love office supplies) and excited. Here's where things took a turn for the drama-addiction... So the Office Supply Guy (who's an gent) sits with Hot Asian Guy in this wee little office. Don't ask me how or why this popped into my head, but after OSG gave me my spiffy new labeler I somehow got it into my head that HAG had put him up to it! O.O I know, I know, I know...crazy. But the idea wouldn't leave me. I even concocted a whole mini-storyline/conversation. Which kinda goes something like this: http://cmrprindle.blogspot.com/2011/05/tell-her.html

No, I'm not sane.

Anywho, re-loving The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry with each re-watched episode. More than that, remembering why we love Bummie so much. It's not just b/c he's cute, oh no! The fury on his face when Lee Shin Young gives him the "Lets do this for 10 days" thing and he thinks she's toying with him, or when he overhears hers and Sang Woo's conversation? It's pretty subtle. No growly face. Blessedly no shouting. I'm not as amused by Smug Face, but he's still growing. If he can get over the shouting, he can tone down the smug. It is, however, putting a wee bit of a damper on the fanfic I was going to write covering the interstitial time betw Shin Young leaving for Finland and her return. Oh! And Boo ki! I don't always like what she wears, but I love her moxie. For a fairly minor character, she really commands the scenes she's in. And Sang Mi...

Clearly I could go on this tangent for a while.

Oh, question for the class: So I'm pretty sure that my fave deli by work is owned by a Korean family. I usually see the mom in the morning and early afternoon, and I am soooooooo tempted to try my fledgling, I-learned-it-all-from-dramas Korean with her. Good idea? Bad idea? Thoughts?

Happy Friday!

I laughed a lot reading your story! Cute.

Wow, a month already at the job. It doesn't seem like we've been chatting about it too much. I have been enjoying our exchanges on OT.

I think it would be fun to find someone to speak Korean with. Go for it!!!

I used to speak French with a coworker when I first started working, she retired, but it was fun and challenged me with my French (completely lost it all, some 20+ years later.)

I tried my tiny smattering of high school French on some tourists a few months ago with terrible results. They asked for something where the answer was, like, 30 and I think I told them 3rd. Luckily their French was decent enough that all I got was a dirty look. Meep.

But yeah, a whole month! I'm pretty shocked, too. I try not to bore the OT with my work drama, or lack thereof, and I'm not that good at sharing anyway despite appearances to the contrary, lol :)

Ooooh, if only the cute guy was Korean, what a great segue.

I am in love with Yoon Kye Sang!! He is soooo adorably cute when he smiles! Best Love is quite funny, I must say and everybody is cast properly and perform great! Lie to Me is interesting, the last scene in the last episode was SUPER OMO-OMO! I think I squealed and clapped so loud, my husband thinks I'm a nutjob. HAHA! Anyway, always fun reading your blog. Dear KIDNAPPERS

I require your services again. Due to the release of certain pictures of Lee Min Ho in a shower, grave concerns have been raised, as to the whereabouts of the One Speedo of Power. I thought the Handtowel had it in his posession, how else to explain his almost supernatural head tilting powers, his ability to mimic any wooden surface, and his eternal youth?!

Even if it is not The One Speedo of Power, but one of the lesser Speedos, the potential for devastation, worn especially by a man of Lee Min Ho's stature is titanic! How many more fangirls must weep because of these sadistic obscuring Speedos?!!

So I turn to you dear Kidnappers, and any one else who is interested, please to rid the Lands of Middle Dramas of these marinading, obscuring horrors.

We few, we happy few, we band of fangirls/boys must join together in The Fellowship of the Speedo. I know it's a big sacrifice, the road will be fraught with dangers, and uncountable hours of sifting through pictures of half naked men to capture these tricky and elusive speedos, but in the end it will be all worth it. You can do this!! For Middle Dramaland!!!

Your highness, maybe you are shaking not because of excessive laughter, but maybe unknowingly, you have become the host of one of the lesser Speedos? We know for a fact that the Handtowel posses the One, but there are nineteen other hanging out somewhere....

Three Speedos for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven Speedos for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Dramas where the Showers lie.

Since I like you, and don't want you to die, I hope you got one of the ones meant for the Elves. :P

0

Dear Ms. Viola,

We've already changed business. We no longer abduct people or snatch their belongings. Due to being exposed to The One Speedo, we've lost interest in criminalistic activities. We've moved on from being henchmen to... lifeguards, which is rather fun since we are often joined by showering kdrama men. The last one who was with us was a strange guy named Dokko Jin, who loves to take a shower at least twice in a drama. He goes along well with the Hand Towel, who also loves to shower at least twice in a drama.

Although the other day Lee Min Ho passed by our beach on a kayak, no one ever noticed if he was wearing a Speedo of Power, since Dokko Jin kept making a scene while waxing his surfboard... while donning a pair of power trunks, of course. He turned the shore into an instant catwalk, while dragging around his humongous... surfboard.

You might wanna drop by sometime. Every month we organize a bikini hunt at the beach. It will be fun. Who knows, the trunks you find might be Speedo of Power.

Come at the East Sea.

Yours truly,

The Speedowraiths

Ya know, iI've always wondered if kdrama will ever trend on twitter. I'm so tired of no-one understanding what 'sajang-niiim! #coffeeprincewithdrawal' means! And the sheer fact that Pantyman, or Dokkobot hasn't trended even once... how do these people live in a world sans the potato grower?! :D
