Answer Me 1994: Episode 11

Here we go. We knew the pendulum was bound to swing back this way, because, well, that’s what pendulums do, and also Oppa is Oppa. We finally corner Garbage long enough to ask him some questions, and in true Answer Me style, what we find out only opens up countless more questions. It’s a doozy of an episode, perhaps to make up for the fact that we only get one installment this week.

Ratings continue to inch upward with this episode clocking in at 9.3%, with a 10.6% high during the hour friggin’ hour-and-a-half.

EPISODE 11: “The only way to end a one-sided love”

It’s February in 1995, and we open on a public notice for changes in proper garbage disposal, hur. Dad rushes the local grocery ajumma to hurry it up before he’s late for the opening. He cries as he runs off that it’s her fault if he misses it, and dashes home to the family waiting in the living room for snacks. They’re glued to the television, and soon we see why: the title card for Sandglass’s finale comes on the screen.

The men all swoon at Choi Min-soo, who is now the ideal of every man in Korea, and Dad asks stupidly whether Mom thinks Choi Min-soo or Dad is more handsome. Mom: “Lee Jung-jae!” HAHA. This lady knows what’s up.

Na-jung agrees wholeheartedly, swooning at Lee Jung-jae’s brand of silent, loving-from-afar stalwart bodyguard hotness: “That’s my ideal man!” LOL at Chilbongie side-eyeing her as she says this, practically harrumphing out loud with his eyes. It’s priceless.

Binggeure points out that in the end it’s still a one-sided love, and Dad agrees that the man Go Hyun-jung will remember is Choi Min-soo, not the silent bodyguard who loved her from afar. It deflates Na-jung, and Chilbongie most of all.

We fast-forward to the spring of 1995, and Na-jung sits with her head on Haitai’s shoulder as they look at pictures of Brad Pitt with his Legends of the Fall/Interview With a Vampire hair. Haitai wonders if it’s time to change up his hairdo (Yes, yes it is, Haitai) but Na-jung tells him not everyone can pull off his look. One might even argue not anyone.

Binggeure joins them, noting that they’re always together at school and now they’re joined at the hip at home too.

Na-jung finds an article about the signs that you’re in love, and the group stops at a weird one, that says a woman will show the nape of her neck to someone she likes. Na-jung tests it out, and Binggeure decides the writer must be a pervert.

Cut to: Dad getting all hot and bothered by Mom showing off her neck. Heh.

Yoon-jin holds up breakfast, and when she finally comes downstairs, everyone’s jaws drop in unison. She’s no longer hiding behind a wall of hair, and she’s got it curled and up, out of her face.

Everyone takes turns oohing at how pretty she looks, nobody catching on to the fact that she’s wearing a couple shirt identical to Samcheonpo’s. Garbage strains some brain muscles and declares that something’s different about her, and asks if she’s dating someone.

And to everyone’s double shock, she nods shyly. The trio who read the magazine article about nape-baring all turn to each other with wide-eyed wonder. The group starts to ask who the boyfriend is, wondering how she could’ve dated someone when they were always together in a group.

It’s pretty hilarious that they wore the couple shirts expressly for this purpose, but no one even thinks to mention Samcheonpo as a contender, and then he finally bites the bullet and throws his arm around Yoon-jin.

Chilbongie actually covers his eyes in horror, and Na-jung outright asks, “Why?” Ha. Garbage asks Yoon-jin if she needs money or something, and offers to save her from this obvious arranged contract relationship.

Dad leads the group in cheering for Shincheon Boardinghouse’s first official couple, and Haitai accidentally lets it slip that he always assumed Na-jung would be the first to date in the house. That gets Dad’s future son-in-law radar up, and he looks around the table asking which of the guys it is. Dad, don’t play that game if you don’t have to. Trust us.

Dad’s sweet on Chilbongie of course, while Mom likes Binggeure, and Haitai pouts in a bit of meta that no one is putting him in the race. Mom points out that girls don’t like boys like their father, and Haitai is pretty much Dad the Second.

Haitai keeps blathering on about Na-jung’s love life until she finally has to run over and clamp a hand over his mouth to shut him up, and she ushers him away to school before he does any more damage.

Samcheonpo and Yoon-jin are off in their own world of adorableness, and I love that Garbage smiles sweetly when they’re not looking, but scowls whenever Samcheonpo looks over at him, as if to say Oppa Is Watching. It’s very cute.

The whole discussion about Na-jung’s future husband has Chilbongie in a funk, and he looks over at Garbage, who’s equally ill at ease.

Chilbongie lets his mood get to him during baseball practice that day, mixing up signals and arguing with the catcher (who responds with the middle finger, heh), eventually giving up hits to the other side.

Elsewhere on campus, Haitai runs alongside Na-jung, apologizing profusely for his blabbermouth and swearing that Mom and Dad have no idea that she has a crush on Garbage. He asks if she confessed, and she tells him that she did, but she hasn’t been technically rejected yet because Oppa said nothing.

Haitai is a good friend, and tells her the harsh truth that no response probably means she’s been rejected. He follows it up with an offer to buy her drinks, and she sighs that maybe he’s right, and maybe she’ll let him buy conciliatory drinks after all, ready to face the truth. Haitai: “Just don’t bite me after.”

He tells her that he might be a little late because he has a chance to see his latest crush this afternoon, and Na-jung sighs at his constant stream of one-sided loves that go nowhere. Aw, is this why you two are such good friends?

Na-jung guesses that this one’s got a killer body as per usual, while Haitai insists vehemently that she’s pure and lovable and kind-hearted… and then drools openly at the dance instructor’s pure, kind-hearted chest.

Na-jung heads to her movie club meeting, where she’s told to bring a date to the club’s fundraiser this Friday, or pay a fine instead. Her friend asks her to bring an extra guy from her boardinghouse for her, and Na-jung heads to the payphone.

She pages Garbage, deleting the first message where she accidentally says her sunbae ordered them to bring boyfriends, and then asks if he’ll come. She sits watching her pager until it rings, and lights up to hear Oppa say he can make it. And then he adds that he has something to say to her tonight. Uh-oh.

At home, he’s already delivering the news to the rest of the kids: He’s moving out. He explains that his hyung is due out of army, and that’s where he lived before coming to the house. Apparently his hyung is even more garbagey than he is, and needs Little Bro around to keep him from living like an animal.

Na-jung comes home and the group tells her that Garbage is moving out, and she goes running to her room. Oppa goes after her, and Chilbongie grows stone-faced.

Oppa swears this has nothing to do with her, and says Mom and Dad already knew he was only staying at the house for a year until his hyung was discharged. Na-jung cries, convinced he’s running away because she’s making him uncomfortable, and he promises that it’s not because of that.

She throws her arms around his waist and buries her face in his chest, asking for reassurance that it’s true. He pets her sweetly and swears it over and over, until she finally believes him.

They come back up to join the party, and it’s no time before Na-jung starts winking at Samcheonpo. Yoon-jin starts doing the same thing, and the boys wonder when she picked up a new drunk habit. It sure is less destructive than her other one.

But just as they say it, she launches into her real drunk habit, and tells the whole group that Binggeure got scammed by a producer who told him he’d make a demo if he handed over cash, and Binggeure blew months of part-time pay for nothing. Garbage looks alarmed and asks why he didn’t say anything, and Binggeure swears it was months ago and he already took care of it, more embarrassed than anything.

And then she tells the group that Haitai still hasn’t used his condom, and it’s still tucked away in his room, past its expiration date. Oh noes, don’t jeopardize the roommie bromance!

Samcheonpo starts to drag her away before she ruins anyone else’s night, but she gets one last one in, and it’s the biggie. She yells at Oppa for letting Na-jung’s confession just hang there, and tells him he’s a terrible bastard for not telling her yes or no. Yikes. Chilbongie leaves the room, and Haitai asks Garbage if he wants to grab another drink.

At the local market, Haitai is a godsend and asks Garbage straight-up what his deal is, and if he doesn’t see Na-jung as a woman, or if he has a girlfriend, or if he sold his soul to the devil to get into med school and is therefore wary of forming any lasting attachments (okay, so he didn’t ask that last one, but this is what happens when you make us wonder for eleven freaking episodes).

Garbage asks Haitai if he’s Na-jung’s friend, and Haitai suspiciously takes a beat before answering yes. Garbage sighs that he wishes he had met Na-jung as just a friend and classmate. He explains that their two fathers are closer than brothers, and that when his own father went bankrupt or had heart surgery, it was Na-jung’s father who was always by his side.

The same goes for Dad being there for him and his brothers. In other words, they are irrevocably linked as family and family first. (I wonder if that’s the whole story, but at least it’s a start.)

He sighs that his head is swimming these days. Na-jung keeps coming closer, “And I can’t accept her feelings, but I can’t NOT accept them either.” What… the fuck does that mean, Oppa?

Haitai presses for an answer, which I love him for, and asks again if Na-jung were just a friend he met at school, would he like her and date her then? Oppa thinks on it, and for now we don’t hear his answer.

He pops in to check on Na-jung, who pretends to be sleeping while he lingers in her doorway. He heads out to his balcony lost in thought, and above him on the second floor is Chilbongie, doing the very same thing.

On Friday, Na-jung gets all dolled up for her fundraiser, and totally forgets her friend’s request to bring an extra date for her. She quickly covers it up with lies and then runs to the phone to call Haitai, then Binggeure, and even Yoon-jin (to borrow Samcheonpo for a night, ha). She gets turned down by all.

I’m cringing at the thought that she’s about to call Chilbongie, but she doesn’t, thank goodness. And then to top off her bad day, Garbage calls to say he’ll be late because of class. She rips her stockings on the way out, and then leaves her wallet at the payphone. What a day.

Haitai, meanwhile, is finally getting somewhere with his crush, who flirts openly with him while getting drunker and drunker. He piggybacks her home happily, convinced he’s getting lucky tonight.

Na-jung only realizes she lost her wallet when she gets to the convenience store to buy new stockings, but just then Chilbongie and his friend (the catcher) happen to pass by after dinner.

He pays for her stuff and his friend introduces himself as Chilbongie’s wife. Hee, I can’t be the only one who heard their pitcher-catcher husband-wife explanation and went to a dirty place, right?

Na-jung perks up and asks the catcher if he happens to be free tonight, and scores him as her friend’s plus-one. Chilbongie asks if she’s not going too, and then realizes from her awkward silence that she must be going with Garbage.

She says Garbage will be late, so she’s planning to just hang out here with snacks until he shows. Chilbongie jumps on that and says he hasn’t eaten either (even though he literally just walked out of a restaurant not five minutes ago), and offers to wait with her. Kid, you’re killing me.

He eats some ramyun while Na-jung settles on eggs, and she cracks one on his forehead without warning… and it’s totally raw. Eww. She drips runny egg everywhere, but it does the trick of breaking the ice between them, and they giggle and laugh like the old days.

Na-jung eventually goes to her party and sits at the bar alone, looking up expectantly every time someone walks through the door. Her one beer turns into two beers, and then three, and with each new guy that isn’t Garbage, her shoulders sink a little more.

Garbage sits in his lecture hall dying of impatience and checking his watch every other minute. The delay grows longer and longer until he finally can’t take it anymore and gets up and walks out of class.

He rushes to the bar, and finally the sound of that damned bell is followed by Oppa’s arrival… but by the time he gets there, Na-jung is gone. Oh no.

He stands there in the doorway and thinks back to the question that Haitai asked him. If he were just friends with Na-jung, would he accept her feelings? He waits for what seems like forever before answering…

Garbage: “Yes.” Eeeeeeee! He continues, “If I had met her as a friend, I would’ve confessed first.” Dagnabbit, Oppa, then what the hell is holding you back? He admits that he has feelings too, because otherwise he wouldn’t be torn about it in the first place.

Haitai’s date takes forever and a half to open her door, and he’s nearly undressed by the time they finally make it inside. He throws his arms around her saying that he can’t wait any longer, and he looks up to see her entire family gaping back at them. Ack.

She slurs that they can have a drink with her whole family, and then his pants drop down to his ankles. Hahahahahaha. Poor Haitai. I literally don’t know what’s worse—standing there with your pants down, or wiggling them back on in front of everyone.

Garbage sits in his car outside the house that night, when Chilbongie comes out and knocks on his windshield, wondering what he’s doing home when he’s supposed to be out on a date. Garbage doesn’t explain, and asks to tag along to the park to throw the ball around.

He asks Chilbongie to teach him a few signals between catcher and pitcher, and he shows him a few, including the one for “frontal attack.” They toss the ball back and forth, and Chilbongie shows him how to pitch.

After a few rounds, Chilbongie works up the nerve to tell Garbage that he confessed to Na-jung, knowing that she likes Oppa. He says that just having a one-sided love was so pathetic that he figured even if he gets rejected, it was better to confess.

Chilbongie: “But honestly, it’s your feelings that I’m most curious about. Whether Na-jung really likes you on her own, and if you really don’t have feelings for her—that’s what I’m most curious about. Because the way I see it, that’s not the case.” Omo.

Garbage lets out a breath, and Chilbongie asks, “Na-jungie isn’t in a one-sided love, is she?” Garbage: “And if you’re right? What will you do then?”

Garbage admits that he didn’t think he was allowed to like Na-jung. There were their parents, and her oppa who died. And he thought that maybe he was just confused and it would pass, so he ignored it thinking time would change things. “But then I see her having a hard time on her own…” He knocks the baseball against his chest: “And it hurts my heart.”

“If what hurts Na-jung’s heart hurts mine…then that means I like her, right?” He lifts his head and looks Chilbongie in the eye: “You’re right. Na-jungie isn’t in a one-sided love.” Oof.

Even Garbage admits that it’s Chilbongie who made him wake up, and says he’s going to accept her feelings and confess his own, before he loses her to someone else like a fool. He muses that this will probably be the last time they play catch, and Chilbongie just answers with a fastball that knocks the wind out of him.

Chilbongie: “The game isn’t over. I won’t give up. You could still lose her, like a fool.”

Dad breaks up the tense moment when he arrives swinging a bat, and laughs at Garbage trying to pitch properly. He tells him to pitch one, and tells Chilbongie to play catcher. So Garbage takes the ball and looks up at the catcher, as taught.

And there it is: the signal for frontal attack, with Chilbongie looking straight at him, prepared to go to war for Na-jung’s heart. Garbage says in voiceover:

Garbage: Love and life are a lot like baseball. No matter what dangerous situation lies ahead, no matter how you try to avoid it, you have to win against someone else in the end to have victory. One-sided love hurts the heart, but you do it alone so there’s no other way—whether you win love or get rejected indifferently, the only way to end a one-sided love is to confess it. Only when you choose a frontal attack will you know the outcome. Maybe love is a lot like baseball.

He winds up for the pitch, and we fade into Chilbongie’s scrimmage game earlier. It’s the bottom of the 9th, and Chilbongie’s side is technically winning by two runs despite his earlier missteps. This time when his catcher signals him to walk the batter who scored on him earlier, he complies without arguing.

With the bases loaded, he finally gets the signal to go for it, so he lets one rip… and the last batter hits it into the outfield, and they score four runs on him, winning the game. Aw.

As the runners circle him in the field and Chilbongie watches dejectedly, Garbage continues in voiceover: “And the world is wide and the rivals are many. Maybe love is a lot like baseball.” Wait… are you trying to say that there could be a surprise batter who wins the whole game that you didn’t anticipate? You’re just saying that to mess with us, right?

At home, Na-jung consoles poor Haitai over beers, thinking it a good thing he didn’t end up in jail tonight. He sighs that he’ll never understand girls, swearing them off forever. Na-jung tells him he’ll never get to use his condom that way, and he grumbles that she’s poking a sore spot.

He asks if it’s any better doing it her way, but that just leaves her sighing, and she asks if maybe she’s just not that appealing as a woman—maybe the problem isn’t Garbage, but her?

Haitai turns to her: “If it were me, I’d have dated you. Long ago. If only you and I hadn’t become such good friends… I would have.” Awwwww.

The air gets awkward for just a split-second, until they both laugh it off as a joke. Haitai chides Garbage for not seeing what a great girl she is, and then tells her that Garbage has feelings for her, and would have readily dated her if she weren’t his almost-sister.

But Na-jung laughs in his face, thinking Haitai is just saying it to be nice to her, and no matter how many times he swears it’s true, she gets madder that he’s messing with her and grabs him in a headlock and gnaws on his arm. Haitai’s voiceover adds another layer to the unrequited love cake:

Haitai: But of course there are many more one-sided loves in the world that never get confessed at all. The idiots who know how to get out of one but can’t do it. That’s why one-sided loves pain the heart.

It’s moving day for Garbage, and Mom and Dad send him off like their own son, with a box full of rice and nagging reminders to check the expiration dates on things before eating them, and to stop wearing unmatchy socks.

Dad wonders why Na-jung isn’t showing her face, and Oppa lies that he saw her this morning, and leaves (with a kiss for Dad, hee). Na-jung sits in her room listening to Kim Gun-mo’s “Alone in Love” (posted above), refusing to come out. Garbage gets into the moving truck and smiles down at the massive box of individually wrapped rice from Mom, and the truck pulls away.

We go back to the world’s longest wedding in 2002, and Na-jung’s little brother interrupts Mom and Dad for a bathroom break during the ceremony. Dad sneaks out to help the tyke, who turns out to be Sung Dong-il’s real-life son Joonie, playing his fictional son Joonie. Oh, the meta.

On their way back in, Joonie sees a group photo of the boys and says that his brother-in-law is the handsomest, while Dad thinks he’s the worst-looking. Dad leads Joon away by the hand and he asks, “Dad! Where are we going?” Pfft. I luff that kid.

Back in 1995, Na-jung comes home from a week-long MT with her movie club, and is disappointed that her parents aren’t more enthused at her return. They just tell her that they’ve been waiting for her so they can eat, and add that they already have a new boarder living with them. She asks the group which department he’s in and gets a wall of blank stares back from every last one of them.

And then… out of Oppa’s room… comes Chilbongie. Eeeeeeee!

COMMENTS

These boys. They won’t stop making me swoon one right after the other. Okay, so Oppa. Yay for answers, for starters. Thank goodness the people around him finally got fed up and asked him what the heck his deal is, though I still resent the fact that the other boys had to poke and prod for some real answers. I mean, would it kill you to fess up on your own? I feel like the writers took a misstep with his character in waiting too long for this reveal. At this point the expectation has been built up (because we wanted to trust that he’d have a valid reason for playing ostrich) such that him saying that their sibling/family relationship is his main deterrent feels like a weaksauce answer. That’s a thing you maybe wait five or six episodes to sort out, not eleven. In being made to wait this long, we’ve gone down the path of assuming grandiose theories for why Oppa is so elusive, and when you give us the obvious answer, it’s a little disappointing.

Granted, there’s still lots of time for a twist on the family angst, but today I sort of shook my fist in Oppa’s face, even as I was phew-ing that he wasn’t dead inside and did return Na-jung’s feelings. It was refreshing to hear what he really thought (for once), but it did nothing to make me stop being frustrated at him for the past ten episodes’ worth of denials. I still love Oppa, because how can you not, but he’s also equally infuriating. I want his reason for being so cagey, for letting Na-jung hurt on her own, for making all of these one-sided loves hang in the balance for all this time—to just be better. Why can’t you be better, Oppa? I think if he had just answered Na-jung back when she confessed, even with the denial version of this, I’d be more onboard.

Sigh, I know it’s not all his fault, and Garbage is still the lovable perfect oppa. But I’m not gonna lie about the fact that while he was sitting around sorting out his feelings, Chilbongie won me over with his brand of un-hedgy romance. And now that Oppa has fiiiiiinally stepped up to the plate, I find myself reacting as if he’s encroaching on Chilbongie’s loveline. I know that’s not the order of how things happened, especially not from Na-jung’s point of view, but that’s the result of taking the long way around with Oppa’s feelings—I somehow end up all turned around. And okay, in the interest of full disclosure, I loved Lee Jung-jae over Choi Min-soo, so I might just be hardwired that way.

It’s not like I don’t understand that his dating Na-jung would upset the family order of two households. But to deny feelings that you feel for over a year? There’s denial, and then there’s futility. At least we know the important answers—that he does like her back, and that he feels a responsibility to be an oppa to her and a son to her parents. It’s almost enough to resent Mom and Dad for being so good to him, except of course you can’t resent Mom and Dad for being so good to him. I think overall the bigger reveal will be his confession to Na-jung, and how timing figures into it. Will he be perennially one step too late, or will he finally figure out how to be there at the right time and place to win her heart? Clearly we’re being told that love is not a game where you can declare a winner until you reach the bottom of the 9th with two outs and the last batter has his turn. And based on Chilbongie’s I-will-not-back-down attitude and Haitai’s late-addition regrets at being friend-zoned (sooooo cuuuuute), it’s just the beginning of the fight. Batter up!

The show is getting too indulgent and draggy. On the upside though, it's not draggy in the normal drama, drama, angst sense.

No..I dont find chilbong is annoying. The man is in love..if oppa didnt grow up with najung together..I dont think she will really falling inlove with trash. We dont even know what najung feels right now are purely love or just brotherly love. (Im all for chilbong..he deserve to get the girl) NJ and chilbong are perfect couple for me.

this is the reason why Oppa didn't confess before and why he wants to move out, are their feelings really love between woman and man, or are their feelings just love like family and they are confusing things since they know each other for years?

CB is a good guy, but please stop, Trash is also a good guy.

I finally caght up to the series and just want to join the discussion. Firstly befor I started watching I heard from so many opinions how CB is an actual contender, how he is o sweet and they think NJ will end up with him, and he is the perfect etc... But I didn't feeel this overhelming romance from him, from their relationship at all.

1. I don't see anything pointing towards NJ having romantic feelings towards him at all. And you cannot have an epic romance where only one of the couple actually tries... That is not a "they're meant to be" relationship.
In this episode when NJ was wondering wether no one sees her as a woman, she just compeletly ignored CB who just recently epicly confessed to her and kissed her. I understand that she is still in love with Oppa, but if she is meant to be with CB at this point there should already be signs that she is confused etc, after all we are past the half of the series. If those who are complaining that Oppa opened up about his feelings too late, I will say that it will be too late for me to believe NJ falls in love with CB genuenly, and not just simply settles for him.
2. I actually don't see his love to her as that genuine and sweet. The way we saw him falling in love with her, something bugged me, like he sees her as this Magical Pixie Girl, and I didn't find that romantic when he was laughing at things that well weren't really meant to be that special. It is like he found a rare exocitic pet (country girl).
3. I actually see more chance for HT to be the husband. It might sound starnge that I easier believe that NJ develops feelings towards him than to CB, but the difference is that CB openly pursued NJ and made it clear about a possible romantic relationship, while with HT they actually only recently got close, and they are at the freindship level of their relationship, so I can see NJ being ignorant about possible feelings towards HT but not towards CB.
4. About the sincerity and genuenity towards someone. HT despite he started to be aware that he has possible romantic feelings towards NJ decided to tell her that Oppa has feelings for her, beccause he genuenly cares and wants her to be happy. While you can argue that it is something Oppa should have said to her, and we didn't see CB interact with NJ since he knows her love is not onesided, but the main point is that to HT, NJs happyness matters more than his feelings. I read someone above who said instead of fighting for the love she helped him get together with his love one, and she never loved anyone else that much. ANd I can relate. WHile I didn't personally help them much but the guy I loved the most, loved someone else and eventually got together with another girl, and I just couldn't see myself "fight for love" when I realised how much he actually loves that other girl, I didn't wanted to be the evil girl who butts in and destroys his chance at happiness. I just think that there are cases when "fighting for love" is actually selfish and actually shows that you don't respect that other persons feelings, and CB no matter hos sweet he is is starting to reach that point.
5. BTW Oppa's concerns are not stupid. It is a slice of life series, and he is aware that in life sometiems relationships don't work out, sometimes people confuse other feelings with deep romantic love (and considering how many CB shippers wish that NJs feelings are just a confusion of sisterly love, it is quite laughable that they critises him...

(and considering how many CB shippers wish that NJs feelings are just a confusion of sisterly love, it is quite laughable that they critises him for a scenario they hope actually happens)
But he should have explained it to NJ, why they should wait until he moves out, and lets see how their feelings are at that point. NJ is not stupid, she would have understood.

well, if i were cb, i can't tell nj that oppa loves her,
it will make she feels bad cause another person told her and not oppa
and i think that the also the case for oppa, like we play unfair and disregard real confession for her
-we didn’t see CB interact with NJ since he knows her love is not onesided- they haven't met after that,
but really if cb does that, he will disregard oppa and nj feeling, it just like telling a bad joke

also for cb doesn't respect other feeling, i think he fight for nj happiness, he sad for his one side love and he doesn't wanted nj feel the same,
that why he asked that her feeling is not one sided
he is the one who make oppa realize what he want to do with his and her feeling
if you wanna be selfish, you just can tell the girl that oppa didn't like her in your guy perspective and make both of them doubt each other feeling

about cb fight for love, well he stated that to oppa because he thinks that oppa recently hurt nj feeling
and after the confession, cb is stated that he knows nj loves someone else, he just wanted to tell her, diferent with oppa case because he just try to be comfortable with they are now,

for oppa action that stupid, yes it wasn't stupid, if you see in another pov, it's all exact reason why he have to love her,
why people say it was little dissappointing because if you in nj position, that hurt and if you just another person who literally just know it like YJ or BG, it hust nj
but his hesitation of all i think maybe he is the one who love nj as woman later a sister, he said he will confess 1st if they weren't in sibling relationship,
so he better confess to nj than see what happen,

with nj feeling toward cb, she seems doesn't have any yet, but she now is in love, that's why she can't show/see anything
she'll learn her feeling later

it not because biased when people stated their argument, you just need to accepted both character,
when early ep more feeling towards oppa i think it's great to show the balanced with cb, that what the writer did,

the title is the onle way to ended up one side love,
that is by confession, but oppa didn't confess yet to nj

Also even though I want Chilbong to be the endgame, he's still ally-pally with her in 2013, actually all the guys are and they can still hang out, laugh at Jeong's wedding video and boss Baby Bro SukSukie around.

That's enough, isn't it?

If only the matter of heart is that simple.... IF ONLY...

I've been in NJ shoes, being loved by someone but was in love with someone else. People around me said that you should love the one who loved you more than the one that you loved more, and I agreed with that, hypothetically, until it came down on me and I don't even remember those saying because I was so in love. So much in love that my eyes and my heart can only see him. So I understood NJ's non existence romantic feeling on CB because she is so focused on Oppa. Oppa has been her world for such a long time, and to suddenly shift her sight on someone else just because the other party was so sweet and kind and considerate and all the perfect gentlemanly traits anyone could ever have... NJ might feel that it is unfair for her to use CB as a rebound because we all know how long such relationship will last so I understand why NJ kept his confession to her own. It is in a way of respecting CB should there will be no progress between them, so the confession was only known to her and CB himself (including Oppa now that CB had told hm about it). Also it was to preserve the relationship they've had before the confession.

As for Oppa, I suspected that he realized that he has been seeing NJ beyond the adorable sister phase longer than NJ realized her own feeling but he kept it to himself in fear of rocking the balance of their family relationship should he confessed his feeling to NJ. What if NJ didn;t see him the way he sees her? What will happen afterward? What if the parents know and that strain their relationship? Oppa loves Mom and Dad as much as he loves his own. And throw the dead brother/son in the mix, it is enough to make him to just bury whatever feelings he has for NJ and stick to brother/sister relationship because he has more to loose. And who are we to say that those are just trivial matter and should not be the main reasons for him to stall and made NJ/CB/HT/BG or whoever that got thrown into this love pentagon suffer because he has been dragging his feet for such a long time he doesn't deserve to reciprocate NJ's feeling since now he knows that NJ is having the same feeling as he is. I'm not invalidating CB/HT etc feelings as secondary and unimportant but telling Oppa that you are too late to enter the game when he has been put on the bleachers for far too long, because the coach doesn't even consider him as a good enough player to take the pitch from an ace pitcher, that was unfair.

I am waiting how the story will progress now that everyone is putting their best game face on and swinging their bat/pitching the ball like their life depending on it.

I love that meta when CB walk the star 3rd batter off but got his best pitch sent flying for a home run by the fourth and unknown cleanup batter. There's a very good reason why the unknown was placed as the 4th batter, and one should weigh on all aspect why the coach chose him to be the 4th batter. Yeap, I've read all volume of H2 and watched the drama so the meaning behind that scene just jumped on my face and I find it an enlightening hint for what to come in the future.

Thanks for the recap GF

Can you spoil me little? Although I am not familiar with baseball (they don't really play in my country), what I got from that scene is that while CB is so focused on Oppa (3rd batter? ), and maybe he really won't be the one (he was late after all, in this episode), it is HT who is next to NJ while the other two focus on their rivalry, and he is the one who focuses on Her (the unknown one, no one takes him seriously, neither the boys, nort the parents see him as a candidate), and both the narration and that after that we got the scene with HT and NJ maybe can imply that. And I noticed that in the 2013 scenes, it is often HT who first responds to NJ (like when she was all winking at his hubby, he was the first to wink back and the others followed,...I am actually starting to believe more and more that it might be really really HT)

After all the candidates are CB (favoured b dad, but NJ doesn't reciprcate his feelings), BG (favoured by mom, he is gay), Oppa (not favoured by the parents, but NJ currently has feelings towards him, and CB has a rivalry with him), HT (neither parents nor the other two see him as competetion, but he actually got really close to NJ while all the love triangle mess is going down, actually the other two seem to got farther and farther away from NJ).

eiiih why so many arguments here.

about why theres no more bball: i think its not bad at all, in high school its fine if you fangirl like crazy, but R94 chose to focus on each character more than its focus on najeong and her antiques. i really cant disagree with this. its already 1.5 hrs long without najeongs fangirling so i dont mind it got cut off for HAITAI DROPPING HIS PANTS BECAUSE LMAO

about viewers complaining about other viewers talking about the husband: whyyy theres nothing wrong with that. this drama can actually gain you some friends. like hey im team chilbong too lets be friends! no need to take it so seriously. also, when people talk about the husband doesnt mean they dont care about anything else.

about fanwars: sigh, its just a tvshow. although im team chilbong, i dont mind if trash is the husband. and i dont mind team trash fangirling, no need to bash others!

tldr, im proudly
TEAM I WISH TRASH IS MY BROTHER, CHILBONG IS MY HUSBAND AND HAETAE IS MY BEST FRIEND.

idk if thats a team or thats just me being delusional. maybe the latter.

I love this drama! Every week I wait for the recaps and get all excited when I start watching and the story unfolds - I'm rooting so much for Chilbong because I feel he has more chemistry with Na Jeong. In the next episode teaser I'm really hoping that the person Na Jeong is running after is Chilbong wherein she realizes that she has developed feelings for Chilbong instead. I don't think Oppa would have the guts to act on his feelings since Na Jeong's parents are so good to him and look at him as their son. He knows that since they are so familiar with him, they would never look at him as a potential son-in-law. So please writers let it be Chilbong she marries.

I thought about that but you see.. it's still too early.. if she does realise she has feelings for Chilbong in ep 12, they can date for 2 episodes and then Oppa will be endgame. Because the pendulum swings back and forth...

I read a previous comment that said that Chilbong should tell Na Jeong about Oppa's feelings. Chilbong's a contender for Na Jeong's heart. He doesn't need to tell Na Jeong anything about Oppa's feelings. If Oppa has feelings, then he should be the first one to broach them to Na Jeong. Why it would be Chilbong who needs to do that even if he knows escapes me. He's already hurting as it is, he doesn't need to sacrifice himself further.

With regard to his actions, I think that despite his clearly rising aggressiveness with regard to his feelings, he has been a complete gentleman with Na Jeong. And I think Na Jeong knows this too. She did not think him creepy or anything like that as proven by the fact that she was the one who tried to clear the air between them by playfully breaking the egg on Chilbong's head.

Na Jeong doesn't owe Chilbong anything but that doesn't mean Chilbong should just give up at the first sign of 'rejection' or non-reception by Na Jeong.

That is the point, what matters more for CB, His feelings and hapiness or NJ's feelings and happiness?

If NJ doesn't even seem interested on CB, and is suffering for her one-sided love, why can't CB think in the best for her and tell her the truth?

Because it's not HIS truth to tell. It's Oppa's. Plain and simple as that. Chilbong isn't obligated to tell Na Jeong anything about Oppa's feelings. Neither is Oppa but Na Jeong at least deserves to know that her feelings are reciprocated and to hear it from Oppa himself to really believe it. And if you remember, Hai Tai actually does tell Na Jeong that Oppa likes her but she thought he was joking.

Yes it is oppa that should tell, but I'm just saying about CB thinking more on NJ's feelings than his own. Specially now that he moved in the boarding house. He can't win all the games.

If Chilbong were being completely selfish, he would've played dirty and moved in on Na Jeong before Oppa even had the chance to even realize he had feelings for Na Jeong. He knows how Na Jeong is feeling because he himself is in a one-sided love as well. But I think what pains him even more is seeing Na Jeong suffering from a one-sided love when in actuality, it isn't. Hence the confrontation with Oppa and getting him to admit and own up to his feelings. He's giving Oppa his fair shot, especially since he has the upper hand as the current owner of her heart. But Oppa isn't doing anything about it...yet. So technically, from Na Jeong's POV, she's still in a one-sided love because Oppa hasn't confessed. And the longer he waits to make a move, it's only going to be a matter of time before Na Jeong's feelings start to waver and move on to someone else; she's not obligated to wait for Oppa to come around. And Chilbong can't exactly back off of Na Jeong if he hasn't even started making any advances on her.

As for moving into the boardinghouse...why not? It's kind of hilarious how it's being made into such a big deal since we see Chilbong at the boardinghouse all the time anyways. Na Jeong's not the ONLY reason he's moving in. His cousin's there, he's friends with the other boarders, and since the parents already know him and like him, it saves the parents the hassle of finding another boarder they can trust. The only difference is that now he has his own room which he'll have to pay rent for instead of mooching off of the parents.

"If NJ doesn’t even seem interested on CB, and is suffering for her one-sided love, why can’t CB think in the best for her and tell her the truth?"

But wouldn't that make him a blabber mouth AND a Noble Idiot? And who's to know what's best for NaJung? As one commenter said, she doesn't see CB yet because Oppa takes up all the space in her heart. But then, it might only take a spark of awareness on NJ's side for the tides to change in favor of CB. Isn't that how CB started to like her? When he suddenly became aware of her when she made him laugh for some mundane reason? And suddenly, he finds himself falling for her.

I'm waiting with bated breath how this change in accommodations for Oppa and ChilBongie will play out when they start to woo our NaJung. May the best man win.

Do people even read the comments all the way down to this section? For the people who are hating on Oppa for his confession and finding his reason "weak", I want to give my opinion on why I can understand his hesitation.
It isn't that he was playing with NJ's feelings. He has more to account for than just his feelings and hers. The fact that the producers made them with a four-year age gap is also understandable. Where Chilbong and NJ are 20 years old and in the beginning stages of their youth, they're bold and they can put themselves out there whether they meet rejection or acceptance.
Oppa, has already been there and done that, he knows what 20 year olds think like and he knows he can't be like that. He's older than them for a reason and therefore sees things differently from the way they do.
While for Chilbong, NJ is a friend he met a year ago and grew feelings for. He's intensely crushing on this girl and losing her would seem like the end of the world for him. And note, I use the word 'seem' because the world WON'T end for him. He can still end up being friends with her and he can move on.
That doesn't flow the same way for Oppa's situation.
Oppa isn't just her 'older brother', he's the support for NJ's family that their actual son couldn't be. He fills up the gap of their deceased son and he knows that. The only person who can intimately connect and relate with them on that matter, is him. Because as much as they cherished Hoon as their son, Oppa did too as his best friend.
So when Oppa hesitates on accepting NJ's feelings, he can't just act on his own because he has so many things to consider. The relationship between him and her family, his family and her family; it isn't supposed to be taken lightly that the bond between the families is holding him back.

tl;dr Chilbongie is risking a year's worth of friendship whereas Oppa is risking all he has with her and her family. He's risking everything he has, and it makes sense that he would hesitate to take that risk. He's being realistic, but I guess people can be upset with that, because afterall, this is a drama.

Isn't there a saying that a son-in-law is like a half-son to parents? Why can't Oppa continue to play the role of a son if Oppa and Na-jung become a couple?

If Na-jung had not confessed, Oppa doesn't want to rock the boat. I can understand.

If Oppa is not sure of his own feelings or unsure of Na-jung's feeling, he prefers to maintain the status quo. I can understand.

But Na-jung confessed. Oppa is aware of his own feelings. So why can't they move one step further in their relationship? Wouldn't that strengthen both families' relationships instead?

May be because I'm an optimist, I can't see Oppa's realist POV. :)

they are not hating, they just little disappointed
maybe because most of people commented in the same way

also because oppa didn't confess to nj or at least discuss it to her
they are most in na jung pov, so it hurt when he love you but hide it with all the confession, with almost all support with the gang who knows, and it need another person to make you realize your feeling
it better to solve the problem together

technically oppa just live 1 year in boarding house, and not life with na-jung family all over year
he basically introduce as her friend brother, not as her brother
if you remember in ep 1/2, the parents including oppa in their son in law candidate, so if you including the personal feeling, nj parents most likely support them
that's why some thinking it's weak ,
he is the one who love nj first, so he already hold so long, but it doesn't justify everything if he didn't take action- that what people most said here

for me it's because he didn't try to solve his own problem
just thinking it and comfort himself that his decision is right, but still give hope to nj

the only way to end up one side love is to confess, he didn't do it yet

Um, I think the parents didn't consider Oppa as a husband candidate. The bio about the male boarders are shown because the audience should know that these guys are the husband candidate for NJ. The parents doesn't consider Oppa. You can see that in this episode, when Haitai babbles about Na Jung being the first to have a couple and he said "Older brother" that Mom and Dad didn't even looked at Oppa. It was as if they didn't hear what Haitai said about "Older brother." They immediately asked if it was CB or Binggeure. Oppa is left out because the parents looks at him as their own son, thus, Na Jung's older brother.

I also think it will be a BIG DEAL for them when Oppa and Na Jung became a couple. At first at least. And I can totally see Dad giving Oppa a hard time because of it.

That's why I really believe Oppa is the husband.

:-)

in my opinion, they maybe didn't say it in the breakfast
but there's a possibility because they've thinking about it
so if you place yourself as a viewer who knows they inner feeling, you can count opppa as husband candidate,
means he have to work on his love

if you are mostly see in 3rd person pov, like yj or bg
oppa might not mention in breakfast but you may find oppa dragging his feeling in nj

that's why i said people have different opinion cause they place themselves in many pov

in depends on how wee see it
people disappointed cause most of them caught as 3rd person but also a viewer, just like yj frustrated on oppa but we know the answer

Yes, people read this far down (I did at least) and plus, I totally agree with you 100%. Oppa is being realistic and is taking the thought of dating an Jung seriously--meaning he's being serious about the thought and the situation. While she might be the only one for him, like he told her a few episodes ago, the fact that their families are so close means that any dating the two of them do has to be serious too--a breakup would damage not only them but the bond between families.

I didn't even think of that! It's been said that at this point everything seems like a red herring, but there have to be some pivotal, beautiful moments in the mix for us to look back on later and say "Ahhh... I get it now!', right? I hope that's one!

That would mean Chilbongie is victorious. Despite what anyone else thinks, I think he and Na Jeong have a really great rapport. Like when she calls him Bongie? Or they nudge each other because they're excited about his can-toppling prowess? Squee. Not to mention them giggling about the egg! TOO GREAT.

Garbage had this enormous advantage at the beginning of the story because he knew literally every thing about NJ- he's been around her whole life, so makes sense that they seem more 'comfortable' together, or like they have better chemistry. I have closer relationships with people the better I know them too! The fact that CB has managed to overcome that is awesome.

Obviously I don't subscribe to the first love, last love kdrama rule. I hope the writing team feel it's as played out and brain-numbingly safe as I do. (Seriously, what is up with kdramas starting their lovelines practically in infancy? It's EVERYWHERE and it's SO UNNECESSARY. Even if the heroes aren't pre-school sweethearts they always ALWAYS seem to encounter one another before the plot actually gets cracking- WHAT UP WITH THAT? I don't need my leads to have a contrived history which in no way contributes to the plot of the show. I really don't.)

I wonder if Chilbong himself realized how he basically asked Na Jeong to be his wife and she unknowingly accepted lol. Oh Chilbong and his roundabout ways of conveying his feelings. And it's not like the writer hasn't done a slip like that before! In R97, when Joon Hee introduces the doctor doing Tae Woong's surgery, he doesn't finish the word for surgery so it ended up sounding like he said "hyung's wife".

If CB is the husband then that baseball sequence does a brilliant job at alluding to that. I can't take credit for the following analysis: Chilbong gestures to Na Jeong to follow him. Despite there being a net separating them (Na Jeong's feelings for Oppa) and Na Jeong not exactly knowing where they're going or what Chilbong is about to do, Na Jeong sticks to his lead every step of the way until there's no longer a barrier, and Chilbong can finally put "his youth and his life itself" (the baseball) into Na Jeong's hands. There's just been too much baseball meta that it'd be a shame for the writer not to follow through with it.

I too think that their scenes together are more enjoyable to watch. And you witness a different dynamic every time! I love how Na Jeong is much livelier around Chilbong, and as smitten as Chilbong is, he doesn't treat Na jeong like a fragile doll and talks back when he wants to, and they just have great banter that I always feel giddy watching them. How can you not to want them to be the married ones in the future? The writer did a good job in developing their friendship that the foundation is there for them to take things to the next level, should Na Jeong move on from her feelings and pursue a romantic relationship with Chilbong.

Na Jeong's scenes with Oppa lately have been more bitter than sweet, with Na Jeong being reduced to an insecure girl in front of Oppa, that it makes me feel miserable. That's probably why, imo , they had a better dynamic as brother/sister. Plus, it's going to be hard for me to buy their romantic chemistry if Oppa still treats her like a little sister instead of a woman, which I think Oppa still has trouble coming to terms with (judging from Ep 12 preview). I love my fair share of "bffs turned lovers" but the longer history together doesn't automatically equate to having good romantic chemistry.

Yep, I'm going totally setting myself for tremendous heartbreak if Oppa turns out to be the husband. I regret nothing.

woaah! brilliant analysis! i especially love the one when CB threw the winning ball to na jeong. i really thought there's something more about that scene and that the writers wanted us to see something beyond it.

After the players bowed to the audience, they all went forward together and na jeong just stood there. I thought it was the end of that scene and I felt somewhat disappointed. I expected one particular smile from CB to NJ during the bow to set her apart from the audience but then he just walked on. So I thought the writers were telling me to keep my cool, CB was just feeling a little crush. But then he came back and silently, made her walk in parallel with him and threw her the winning ball. My heart just fluttered and I could see na jeong’s too.

On trash, I could tell that he really cares deeply for NJ. But whether its sisterly or romantic love, I think he is still trying to sort it out. I understand his hesitation because in case he starts to date her and then realizes later on that its only a sisterly love after all, it will somehow change everything. and being the protective oppa that he is, im very sure he doesn’t want to hurt NJ. He wants the best for her, the same way he wants the best for binggrae when he helped him to decide and when he literally gave him the opportunity to join that contest. Watching him watching SCP watching YJ just made me see him as an amazing oppa. I know that by not confessing, he’s hurting NJ now but how could he? He isn’t really sure if it’s a yes or no for him yet and my heart breaks when he said this during his conversation with haitai. Oppa frutrastes me in a sense that he is hurting NJ because of his uncertainty. But can he really forcibly ascertain his own feelings? Indeed, it will take time.

And it’s up to NJ to choose. Whether to wait for oppa or move on. Personally, I would want her to move on. Love is indeed very complicated and there’s no one right way on how to love. But im pretty sure because I based this on my experience, those who have the best love are those who are willing to take the plunge, risk everything, and willing to face the uncertain. After all, no matter how bright the future is today, everything may change tomorrow.

It seems that Reply 1994 had a positive impact on its audience. There are shippers for every character and its fun that the general audience are enthusiastic in sharing their own theories on who NJ is gonna end up with. Everybody is entitled to their opinion because everybody is different and has their own experiences that they can relate to.
But it saddens me that a few post are getting a bit personal.
The drama is a slice of life. And anything can happen (realistically that is Reality). Im all for Oppa. But if NJ is gonna end up with CB or HT or even an alien , its all for the name of Good Ole Fun.
I mentioned before that for NJ (or in reality, any of us) , has their own paths to choose. AND NEITHER IS BAD.
To justify that NJ is better off with "him or him" ( and I mean whichever character ) kinda kills the fun. Its just a drama. And its ok and nice that we get entertained , but its sad when someone gets riled up.
No offense to all the fandomness but NJ is gonna end up with whoever the writer decides what is best for NJ.
And Im pretty sure, whether its CB, HT or Oppa or even Grae.... NJ will have a happy ending.

I would say charismatic and somewhat indecisive, which is not the same as manipulative--because he has to be conscious of it to be manipulative. As for the "I can't refuse her feelings." as in if he does, he loses her. If he accepts her feelings then he loses everyone else. I guessed that too and got it instantly.

Now I'm sure who will win.

Then again it took NJ a while to put her own feelings forward, and she was second to YJ telling everyone how she felt. These two seem to be a lot alike.

Totally agree with you Mel. Youve just put sugar on my tea. The writers are doing a great job in getting us all hooked and obsessed. Everybody has their own apple cart. Reality wise we have no control who NJ is gonna be with. We are after all we are just mere expectators on how NJ life is gonna turn out.
All I know, its gonna be a happy ending because she LOOKED HAPPY ON HER WEDDING DAY. Our princess did end up with someone she truly lves.
Lets just enjoy the rush of the ride.???

Is it just me that i find Oppa's response to CB inquiry a little too cocky or rude during their intense playing of catch the ball thingy? It seems like he's saying I like her so what are u going to do about it so just back off.!!!!And plus the fact that he said " since this is our last time playing catch the ball....," i just didn't see this coming from him knowing his character in this drama. Why can't u just say Oppa, U like her and I like her too, so may the best man win, and we can still be friends....poor CB.

didn't cb started though?

""I know NJ likes you. And I think you also likes her. But either way I confessed even though I know it and I'll win this game'' because you know doesn't matter if NJ and oppa like each other, what matters is he is not going to give up.

He was provoking trash and trash gave him a honest answer, that is all. There is no ''poor CB''

I think CB is hurting to see NJ hurting that's why he initiated the conversation with Oppa. Yoon Jin even share the same sentiments as CB that even when she got drunk she started cursing Oppa. After CB' s confession to NJ last NY's eve, months passed by and we didn't even see him forcing himself to her. It was just certain intances that lead them to spend time together just like the grocery scene. It wasn't like he was stalking NJ. It just so happened that he was there and for him i think he's just happy to spend even short periods of time with her. And if im not mistaken it was after oppa's harsh cocky words that CB responded " oh well im not going to back down then"....

if just cb didn't meet na-jung in the store and knows that oppa didn't ended up meet her like their promise
he'll will not asking oppa
the way cb said is a clarification
he said, i think na-jung didn't have one sided love, isn't it?

what provoke him is oppa behavior is actually
when he like waiting, why oppa didn't tell why he didn't meet na-jung while cb 1st question is didn't you have appointment today? but asking to play with him (his reall appointment is play with dad)

he didn't being poor, he willing to take a risk
we feel sad cause in my opinion, if you one-sided love didn't work, it also really hard to see the person you love have one sided love but actually not, and the one who makes him realize is yourself

When Chilbongie gave oppa that frontal attack signal, I literally fist-pumped. What's more attractive than a guy willing to go all out and fight for the girl he likes? EEEEEEE
Chilbongie-ya, you make my heart go duguen duguen XD
Seriously though, if that surprise batter winning the game metaphor is true, then it can only be about Haitai, right? If he ends with Najung in the end, I'd be half mad at the writers and half amused at their guts. But I'm kind of sure its just a red herring.

Oppa said his brother's name is Jae Young... so Oppa can def. be Jae Joon, thus the husband Kim Jae Joon.

And the more I think about it, the more I feel that Dad would never call Chilbong ugly if he were the husband, so at this point I feel Oppa has a higher chance of ending up the husband.

But I'm sure the writers will make Oppa/NJ go through more angst in the 2nd half of the story...

About the dad calling his son-in-law ugly in the 2002 wedding scene. Well..if you watch the previous episodes..NJ's dad said to chilbong that if CB will not play in seoul twins team and instead playing to the other team especially the OB bears..the dad said..he and chilbong will be forever an enemy. (So how about in the future..chilbong will not play in NJ's dad team? There's a possibility that he will dislike CB..right?

Look at the picture at the wedding! The groom is Binggrae. He is center in the picture. I know that writer is messing with us and that is what makes this drama so good and so addictive. But something as obvious as this has to be true or they would not have shown it. We still have 9 episodes and years before the wedding. Anything can happen. Even the groom being the quiet confuse kid.

How else will they remain friends in the end? All three guys would renounce their "love" for Najung if she chose Binggrae. His cousin, the older brother protective figure and the friend who wants to stay friends. This way they all stay one happy family.

For this show, my bias is on the second lead. I mean, come on, chilbong has been giving so much effort for her and even when it seems like he's going to lose he just fights even harder. That's how much he likes najung. The minute he met her he was absolutely smitten by her. Solid emotions. I feel like trash's feeling are indecisive and confusing, and infuriating to watch. He doesn't really deserve her. He says that he likes her, but I don't really see him giving anything back to najung that purely shows his likeness to her. I mean, he's a nice guy overall, but when I see him perform these good deeds I don't see it as him showing his affection towards her, but fulfilling his responsibilities as a caring brother figure. Other than that, he's got his own things going on and his own life.

Rather Na-jung ends up with Oppa or not, I've always been a Jung Woo fan since HE WAS COOL, so I've always been in his corner. I've always felt Jung Woo needed better roles for his sort of talent and I'm glad he's been given this role. I hope for the best for him in this role and if he is indeed the future husband, I will cheer all the louder. *fingers crossed* I really hope he's the husband hehe..

so, oppa Is the husband

Ugh this whole thing was nonsense. I started out in the Garbage camp but he's too bland and wishy washy as a character to be it. I think they're just trying to throw us off, but this is just bad how they're unravelling Garbage's awfully indecisive, weak and diluted character growth.

Why do I feel like Trash will confess, then he and NJ will date, but now that CB lives in the boarding house and Trash doesn’t, NJ will get closer to CB, and in the end date/marry CB?
If the writers do this to my heart imma sue T_T
Please don’t let her part with Trash when he’s finally decided to confess. That line Trash said “when NJ hurts, I hurt more.” Just killed me T_T
