Drama viewership ratings for the week of July 19-25, 2021

There were pre-emptions this week, due to the 2020 Summer Olympics — meaning no Penthouse, Revolutionary Sisters, and a whole lot of variety shows. Along with that, we had a pretty slow week overall. You Are My Spring’s numbers dipped to 2.1 percent, while At a Distance, Spring Is Green came to a quiet end at 2.2 percent.

Numbers stayed relatively strong in the latter half of the week, at least. Hospital Playlist’s numbers continued to grow, bringing in 13.2 percent this time around. And Voice and The Devil Judge kept their high numbers, with 3.8 percent and 5.6 percent respectively. Even so, it feels empty without Penthouse and Revolutionary Sisters here!

I know 3.3% is nothing to shout about, especially for a terrestrial channel, but it's actually quite miraculous that On the Verge of Insanity managed to maintain its ratings on Thursday even as Hospital Playlist 2's continued soaring.

I was about to comment exactly like that!
Hospital Playlist 2 and On the Verge of Insanity, both air at 9pm on Thursday.
I'm so happy OTVOI maintained its ratings!
Hope ratings will go up!

This is my favorite show of the summer! Who knew the household appliance industry would be so entertaining. Love the slice of life profession dramas.

Thank you for your review of Imitation. I really enjoyed it so much, and it reminded me of Vicenzo in that the cast are obviously having a blast and good grief! how well those boys dance! Bearing in mind how much scandal has hit the internationals press about the way Korean boy/girl bands are used and discarded, paid nothing and expected to perform sexual favours, it is definitely a step in the right direction to expose how badly some managements treat these youngsters. I do think Korean fans have something to answer for, they are absolutely viscious in the way they turn on their "idols" at the least breath of scandal. And they are all so gorgeous but they are not allowed to date? How unhealthy is that!?!

The word "scandal" is extremely ambiguous in the Korean entertainment industry. I find the ambiguity somewhat funny but especially frustrating. When an idol or actor is said to have a scandal, it could mean anything from getting married to being the owner of a human trafficking ring. Are we really saying those two things can be define by the same word??
