Park Ji-hoon does dark so well. I really hope that he accepts Bastard, which is Sweet Home's better cousin.

Me too! Sunwoo Jin undergoes a tremendous emotional journey throughout the webtoon, and Park Jihoon demonstrated he could play such helpless but at the same time strong characters in Weak Hero Class One.

It was expected, but I love how the design team for The Heavenly Idol incorporated photocards in the promotional posters, another element of idol stanning culture. Photocards are collectible cards inserted in the music albums, and they feature selfies or individual photos of the idol or members, and you get them at random. Photocards are also one of the methods to increase album sales because fans buy more albums to get a complete set or further their chances of getting their favorite member.

What's the best here is taglines on both posters - ML is praying (for a success as an idol - new life, new priorities lol) and FL is confused because of ML's sudden change of personality (wow, a character in a drama literally turned into someone else overnight and people actually NOTICED that!).

Go Bo-kyeol's character is described as a devoted Wild Animal fan whose favorite member is Woo Yeon-woo, and in the world of K-pop, idols are highly encouraged to engage in parasocial interactions with their fans, so as a result, they end up revealing a lot about themselves to their fanbase, and their actions and words are closely monitored, so yes any change could be easily perceived.

Tbh I wouldn't trust those fans judgement that much, because let's be real - many of them are delulu as hell and only see what they want to see while ignoring everything else. Also, there are dramas (and tons of manhwa) when even direct relatives didn't suspect a thing in such circumstances... It comes with the genre, I guess. Still nice that this drama at least tried to add some common sense to their story. Makes great contrast with wild premise)))

Also, isn't FL also group's manager and not just some - even hardcore - fan? Now that's a close view...

1. Perfection. From the bright pastels to the photocard aesthetic, this gets the ladynightshade stamp of approval. I’m so excited for this show.

2. My boy Yoo In-soo booked and busy as he should be. Hopefully, portraying this vast array of diverse supporting characters in a relatively short time will catch the eye of some PD and they cast him as a lead.

3. I’m totally here for Jang Geun-seok’s facial hair era, though not really the drama he got it for. Cool poster though.

4. Undeniably gorgeous cast, but the posters are so airbrushed to hell and back that it’s actually preventing me from appreciating any of their features. Like, I’m sorry, why does Park Hyun-sik look like…that? Zero points for effort or execution; this inspires whatever the hell is the opposite of how I feel about The Heavenly Idol posters.

5. Park Ji-bin is not a name I’m familiar with, but Lee Dong-wook and Kim Hye-jun headlining the drama is all I need to be sold.

6. This sounds very familiar to Park Ji-hoon’s other roles. I guess he found his niche.

7. *Sigh* They had to find a way to sneak a cop in there somehow, didn’t they? But importantly, Shin Jae-ha??!? Maybe I should finish season one after all.

Park Jibin is one of the less fortunate child actors - he debuted suuuper young and got huge right away (as a kid version of ML in BOF), completely disappeared afterwards, then made headlines again by enlisting right after graduating from high school (and for gaining some impressive abs while at it), after that boy struggled with his acting career for a long time only to start finally climbing back into spotlight very recently. Career worth a drama adaptation itself.

I think PHS is supposed to be looking melancholic due to the curse he is under. I personally can feel it.

1 - as long as authors don't try to lower level of absurdity midway, this can be hella fun)))

4 - pretty, pretty cast indeed. There's also character descriptions and relationship chart out, but that's probably way too many text (and spoilers) to publish here. Just gonna add that I was surprised by some details of ML's family situation (and his "curse") and very unsurprised by the confirmation of your good ol' kdrama love triangle (of course FL's unfortunate fiancee HAS to be none other than ML's best friend!). The new teaser is a bit... Let's just say that my previous worries about sageuk romances being dry were somewhat confirmed - few steps, some longing gazes and warm smiles with little to no skinship or Big Dramatic Couple Moments is how the drama views fanservice? Really? Ouch. Promoting this as a love story with such melancholic and chaste vibes is not gonna be easy. The only positive moments are the increased variety of pretty hanboks and (this is personal, okay?) the impression that FL is gonna be the one who falls first. If drama really dares to break the stereotype and go there ofc. Oh, and I finally got what original title means! It really should've been literal Youth Talking Under The Moon... Is everyone finally so done with all the "moon" sageuks hence the name change for international audience?)))

7 - hmm, since when SK jails allow such creative hairstyles?

Not only the hairstyle, but the body oil to make the torso gleam! I have to get myself some of that, although I'm not sure it will properly highlight my sagging old man musculature.

As a US viewer I am experiencing severe availability angst for No. 3 Coupang Play’s Friday drama BAIT: SEASON ONE (6 eps). Episode one is scheduled to air on Jan. 27 and still no legal US stream has been announced.
No. 4 tvN’s M/T drama OUR BLOOMING YOUTH (20 eps) will be available on Viki US with episode one airing Feb. 6.
No. 6 BASTARD sounds to me like a remake of MBC’s COME AND HUG ME (2018).
