Drama viewership ratings for the week of September 4-10, 2023

Either ENA has really good mid-week dramas, or something is up in the dramaverse, because they continue to beat the Lovely dramas in the Monday-Tuesday slot, and the conclusion to Longing for You hit 4.1%, beating everything in that slot as well. One wonders how ENA will fare when they crank out their Saturday-Sunday drama next month…
Speaking of the weekend, The First Responders 2 finished on a high note of 9.3%, while family weekender The Real Has Come ended without much fanfare. And then there’s Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun, which premiered to a nice 5.0% but dropped a bit from there.

I’m watching the two My Lovely shows which coincidentally are the two with the lowest ratings. Am I doing this wrong?

Nahh! Mon-Tues usually has the lowest numbers compared to the rest of the week.
If you like the show, just continue watching it regardless of the ratings. This is just a gauge for the domestic audience.

Foreign audience have 0 influence on these ratings as the shows need to be watched live/first hand, not on Viki, Disney+ or Netflix.. Only South Koreans who switched on their TVs at their own homes will be able to influence these ratings.

Do not think rating always tell the whole picture consider I sees My lovely liar is one of the most watched drama on Tving (Korean streaming site) beside it get allot of buzz having highlight videos top on Naver after airing. At least most young people do not watch dramas true linear tv but stream it either true live streaming or true Tving or other stream sites.
I did see when At a distance, spring is green aired it got low rating, but many korean talked about it online clearly watching it true streaming. Even PD mention it and said he and the team was happy about it and said even though it got low rating it got buzz showing how the rating system is old fashioned.

Glad to see that MLL has a big jump from Monday night.
Also with Behind Your Touch that had a bigger increase from Saturday night.

Happy for Behind your touch. I did not actually expect this drama to go on air without issues and be pulled out eventually due to the sensitive theme lol. Just to see this end without any k netizens complaint is already an achievement. I hope they can reach double digits if the next 6 episodes are good.

Longing for You is ENA's third highest-rated drama after Extraordinary Attorney Woo and Not Others. I'm rooting for Evilive to be ENA's next success.

I really am enjoying Longing for you now, though it got really interesting only somewhere by ep 9 or so for me, maybe as I was not that focused on what was going on there first 8 eps, but glad I stuck up with it.
My lovely boxer is good imo.
My Lovely Liar I guess is purely relying on Minhyun’s handsome face and Kim So Hyun’s popularity, if only they also had good script to work with, and, I should admit, Minhyun is yet not ready for leading the drama.

I think I'm now just officially committed to being a "2-4% market share drama" watcher. It's like a persona.
Indeed, I might consider starting a policy of dropping a drama if it gets too popular in South Korea...just on principle at this point! 🤩

Dang, is The First Responders that good? I haven't finished the first season (on hold) but I remember it was really fun.
TRHCome finally ended? I feel like I've been waiting centuries for a new weekender. I just hope I get to watch a good one before this year ends.
