Watch out for bunnies in Branding in Seongsu

As we head into the month of St. Valentine’s, LG’s U+ Mobile TV came out with more promos for the upcoming office romance Branding in Seongsu. But because we can’t just have nice things, it looks like a rogue Easter Bunny has a vendetta to serve, wreaking havoc for our soon-to-be body-swapped leads: Kim Ji-eun (Longing for You) and Park Solomon (a.k.a. Lomon)(Revenge of Others).

With a temperamental and no-nonsense attitude, our tough Kang Na-eon (Kim Ji-eun) has made many enemies while working as the marketing team lead. We thus begin the teaser with her firm belief that the recent attacks are not accidental and we watch as Na-eon is chased by her masked rabbit assailant in a creepy sequence, ultimately landing her in the hospital.

However, now that Na-eon and marketing intern So Eun-ho (Park Solomon) have switched souls, the situation is even more dangerous and complicated. In fact, it’s actually Eun-ho in Na-eon’s body who lies in the hospital bed, while Na-eon stands by helplessly in Eun-ho’s body. Although our leads want to know how they got swapped, our heroine decides that the more pressing mystery right now is, who is trying to kill her.

We then follow Na-eon as she looks into possible suspects at work, starting with obvious rivals. But recognizing that the culprit could be right under her nose, the list also has Na-eon’s friendly(-ish) colleagues, including a suspicious Yang Hye-ji (Sweet Home 2) and a concerned Kim Ho-young.

Once Eun-ho recovers, our main pair re-groups to discuss their plan. But Eun-ho realizes his foot in the mouth too late, wondering out loud, what kind of life Na-eon lived for something like this to happen. Backpedaling on his mistake, the teaser then ends as Eun-ho turns the blame on the evil bunny mask instead.

On the production side, U+ Mobile TV’s Branding in Seongsu has PD Jung Heon-soo (Twelve Nights) directing with scripts co-written by Choi Sun-mi and Jeon Sun-young. Premiering next week on February 5, the series will be following a 4-day weekly schedule, releasing episodes on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

I am loving this schedule of episodes on 4 days and series finishes in two weeks.
Not sure how I will deal with the killer element but it sounds like it could be an interesting watch with fast forwarding through scary.

Hum... I don't really like this schedule with 35 minutes long episode. It's short and looks more like webdrama.

Otherwise, Kim Ji-Eun is really an actress I would I would like to see in secondary roles and not main ones yet. There were some critics about young male actors not good at acting paired with older and successful actress, but it was the same with her.

She passed muster in One Dollar Lawyer because of NKM ... didn't see Longing ... now 🤷‍♀️ I don't really think she has the FL chops.

One Dollar Lawyer and The Veil... She was very lucky that NGM helped her.

I was worried that this rom-com, because it centered on soul-switching, wouldn't have a violent death involved, meaning there wouldn't really be a romance. So I'm glad to here there actually will be a murderous bunny. Since it is appearing around Valentine's Day, though, I think a poisoned heart-shaped brush would be more appropriate. Might as well have soft hair before you love--and die!

I hear there's a holiday war brewing, over chocolate and candy rights. The Easter Bunny is out scavenging and won't settle for just eggs. 😏

I feel like I would be so much more excited if the FL wasn't played by Kim Ji-eun. It's no secret that I remain baffled by her quick rise to main lead-dom.

I am confused.
Availability. For US viewers LG’s U+ Mobile TV‘s BRANDING IN SEONGSU is on Viki US’s “Coming Soon” List.
(Thank you Viki for licensing non Big 3 (Kocowa) dramas. Please keep it up.)

Besides the idea of bodies being swapped (which will be confusing enough) I am confused about BRANDING’s episode count because Asianwiki is reporting 8 episodes and MyDramaList is reporting 24 thirty five minute episodes running from Feb. 5-March 14, 2024. At 4 episodes airing per week BRANDING will have a 6 week run.

I think MyDramaList is the correct one. Namuwiki says it'll be 12 episodes, with each episode split into part 1 and 2.... which doesn't make it any less confusing, but it does explain the 4-day schedule...
