I holed myself up for a week and binged the entirety of Prison Playbook. There’s so much that can be said but the one thing I can’t stop thinking about is Hanyang’s story and how he didn’t resist at the end… I feel so heartbroken.

I spent a weekend in July watching Prison Playbook, and the sour taste of Hanyang’s end stills lingers…

I feel so crushed. I know they kind of alluded to addicts being the biggest reoffenders, but I was really holding out hope that he would make it and finally be with Jiwon 🙁

This time I like to believe that his mother will bail him out and have him enter a rehabilitation center cuzz that’s what he needs not imprisonment😪

you’re so right… but trust is such a fragile thing. I want to believe that his parents (if not Jiwon too, because it’s so hard) would’ve overcome those emotional difficulties and given him that support 🙁

Exactly. He had no treatment while he was in prison.

That scene still hurts. Very good performance by LKH.

      Also how’s your supervisor?

I was seriously not ready for them to rip my heart out like that… Props to LKH, though, he was really excellent!

Supervisor’s still being a jerk sadly. I don’t think that’s going to change any time soon, boo 🙁

Stick through till October, you’ll have better opportunities in the future hopefully (having someone like Manager Oh will be a cherry on top).

Finger’s crossed!!! August is my busiest month on paper and it’s nearly over so I hope things look up from here!

I hope the week ahead treats you well ❤️❤️

OMG yes, sooooo sad, so unbearably tragic. We’d been with him the whole way, seeing him sick and seeing him become stronger. I can’t say more, but it was shocking. It took me ages to get into it, but once I did, I loved every minute. Another “quiet” almost uneventful drama that said so much, with so much warmth and a wide spectrum of humanity on display. It was great then to see Hospital Playlist afterwards. Brilliant work.

Yes, I had the same experience!! I actually watched the first four-ish episodes when they first aired but the length + the heaviness made me hit pause and then,,, whoops it’s been 3 years! LOL. But I’m so glad I went back and finished it. I was so emotional throughout, especially in the last quarter. What a great piece.

I can’t wait for Hospital Playlist Season 2!

Years have passed but the pain is still there whenever I think about Hanyang 🙁
