His personal life aside, Lee Byung Hun is a great actor and portrays the nuisances required in all his roles. His performance in Our Blues is worth the nomination. Long before our seeing Kim Young Kwang’s “Back” in Call It Love, Lee successfully portrayed a very sad and lonely back without our seeing his face back in 2001’s Beautiful Days. That scene of his standing by the road side as the camera zoomed in to focus on his back is one of the most memorable scenes in my mind.
For this year’s Baeksang, I wish all the wins for Decision To Leave – it’s a piece of art in recent memories. Lee Sung-min should win the best drama actor by a big margin, I think.
He is versatile if you check out his comedy especially those in earlier years. Korean movies have come a long way but still a relatively small pool and hence, his being nominated frequently. The same can be said of Song Kang-Ho. Both are great in almost everything they do. It’d be more interesting to see who would emerge in the next two generations to replace them.
Nonetheless, the award this year should go to Park Hae-il with two nominations for Decision To Leave and Hanson: Rising Dragon. I have watched both. The two roles can’t be more different and one being a period drama. He is excellent in both – I hope he will win, fully deserving.

Baeksang loves Lee Byung Hun. They nominated him again. Every year, hes there. Was he good in that Our Blues drama? Have not seen it.

He seems so stiff to me in reel and real life. Very serious. Though, i know he’s a good actor. He has proven it
I just feel that Baeksang could have nominated another person, since he’s always there every year. Who? I don’t know.

Each segment is good on its own but somehow the whole thing doesn’t gell well. I usually like omnibuses but Our Blues doesn’t work for me.
