So I’ve successfully caught up with LOM and MH, yet some unimaginable force keeps preventing me from hitting play for WWWSK. It seems like I have to let the drama go or place it on an infinite pause.

I don’t get it. I love the com part and the rom part is nice too so I’m not sure if it’s because the brother side plot is eh or if the tropes (eg. the accidental slips/falls) are too much for me.

@kudoran commented that it’s not doing anything exceptional. It’s using the same old plots & tropes – which might be why some of us aren’t feeling it. I have to say I agree, and also that I think the drama is relying too heavily on the actors Park Min Young and Park Seo Joon and not enough on anything else. :/

Yes it’s probably what you pointed out because other fluffy rom-coms like LUTYN and WLFKBJ had elements of originality mixed in with poignancy, chemistry and genuine heart instead of just chemistry+tropes.

If it wasn’t for Park Min Young and Park Seo Joon, I’m sure a lot more Beanies would be honest about this drama, this isn’t one of the best rom-com out there.
It lacks originality, I’m used to rom-com I can still enjoy them even with tropes involved but it needs a PLOT (lol).
For me, Secretary Kim is a pale rom-com copy. Funny how each ep makes me remember one of my previous dramas pwahaha, at this point it’s so pathetic that’s it’s a skill itself hahaha.
Anyway 2 actors can’t carry a whole drama for 16ep, even if I drop it (which will happen ’cause it’s only a schedule filler), I’ll know what happens in the drama with Beanies hype and the fanwall post/gif flood ^^’

Spot on! The drama seems to be reusing cliches which after the first 2 eps got a but stale. The 2 stellar actors and the colourful side characters are the only engaging bits. I don’t mind the lack of plot (eg. WFKBJ was an amazing coming-of-age rom-com) if they chose instead to focus on the characters eg.what drove Secretary Kim to be so competent, more about their 9 years past dynamic etc. I understand they’re “still fleshing things out” but maybe the drama’s concept works better in a webtoon where the nuances come across more easily rather than extended periods of numerous slow-mos.

Honestly, it’s also on hold for me atm. With Prison Playbook, Miss Hammurabi and Life on Mars, my kdrama schedule is full.

All the dramas you’re watching are exceptional! I’ve yet to watch Prison Playbook tho.

Liked the first 2 episodes, dropped it after episode 5, but now I must pick it back up for Lee Min-ki and Jung So-min.

It’s a pity because I really like both Park Seo-joon and Park Min-young!

I want to pick it up for the sake of BTIOFL feels but it still doesn’t draw me in especially since my July schedule will be packed anyway.
