Kang Min-hyuk debuted as the drummer of the pop rock band CNBLUE in 2009. They released their first Japanese extended play Now or Never in August of that year. In January 2010, they made their Korean debut with the mini-album Bluetory, which produced the hit single I’m a Loner. In March 2010, they dropped their debut Japanese studio album called Thank U. A year later, they released their first Korean full-length album titled First Step, which featured the singles Intuition and Love Girl.


Kang Min-hyuk bagged his first acting role in the 2010 omnibus film Acoustic. That same year, he appeared in the SBS series It’s Okay, Daddy’s Girl. In 2012, he joined the KBS2 family drama You Who Rolled In Unexpectedly, which won him the Rising Star Award at the inaugural APAN Star Awards. In 2013, he played a supporting role in the hit SBS series Heirs, which earned him the New Star Award at the SBS Drama Awards. In 2016, he became part of the main cast of SBS’s Entertainer, which scored him an Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards. In 2017, he was cast in his first leading role in the MBC medical drama Hospital Ship. In 2021, he starred in the MBC romantic comedy Oh! Master along with Lee Min-ki and Nana.


Kang Min-hyuk attended Digital Seoul Culture Arts University. He enlisted for his mandatory military service in July 2018 and was discharged in March 2020.
