Sung Yuri debuted in 2008 as the youngest member of the now-disbanded girl group Fin.K.L. They released four studio albums and won numerous music awards, including the Best Female Group at the 2000 Mnet Music Video Festival. In 2002, Sung Yuri made her acting debut in the SBS series Bad Girls. The following year, she landed her first leading role in SBS’s Thousand Years of Love, which won her an Excellence Award at the SBS Drama Awards. In 2006, she was paired with Hyun Bin in the KBS2 drama The Snow Queen. In 2008, she starred alongside Kang Ji-hwan in the KBS2 fusion sageuk Hong Gil Dong, which earned her the Baeksang Most Popular Actress trophy. In 2012, she received a Top Excellence Award at the MBC Drama Awards for her portrayal of a naturally gifted chef in Feast of the Gods. In 2016, she reunited with Kang Ji-hwan in the MBC revenge melodrama Monster.


Sung Yuri completed her theater and film degree at Kyung Hee University in 2005. In May 2017, she married professional golfer Ahn Sung-hyun in a private ceremony. They welcomed their twin daughters in January 2022.
