Augh I finally got time to catch up with Brahms last week eps & just in time phew! But I’m glad I was delayed, waiting feels very painful, esp the way things ended.
Now ep 11 bring the feels on!!

Due to some rl obstacles that I’ll be facing this week (aka exams), it seems I’ll be delayed in boarding the Brahmsie Ship. I’m sad but it can’t be helped. T_T my reaction posts, which I personally enjoyed the most(yeah I’m the type that laughs at her own jokes lol), will be postponed to next Sunday. siigghhhh.
@letseatcookies please keep my plaque reserved until then.
I hope our Captain & Brahmsie-mates will accept latecomers.
well then…

This scene frustrated me so much. I want to scream at Joon-young afterwards.

      Both were being mean haha

Hmmm, I sympathized with Song-ah a lot more than Joon-young in that scene. I was dying with frustration over their lack of communication throughout the episode though. It turns out social awkwardness isn’t always cute; sometimes it’s frustrating.

They have to really see, understand & accept the other person’s perspective.
SA was right to defend her orchestra position but she was mean when she started saying “someone like him won’t understand” & everything after that so then JY became meaner haha.
Like you said, lack of communication.

Oh well they made up really nicely… 😁

I’m gonna add another ingredient: Hae-na one line this episode about Song-ah not being good enough for “world class musician”. It made SA lose confidence and mention it to Joon-young.

Of course, this issue is important and it’s better they deal with it now rather than later. What if they were already a couple and people start snickering at her?

Chaebols never had it this hard to date a Candy.

I found him annoying from the start and I’m still suspicious of that phone call he made after persuading Joon Young to do that Talk Concert.

Park daeri-nim gave me snake vibes from the outset.

He is right though…he is an asshole but asshole who knows business, has hustle and the kind Joon Young needs if he wishes to make money…Kyung Ho foundation put him in the back burner ….there’s not much left for him there

    2
    1

Yes. From a business pov he’s pretty efficient, practical, selfish & ruthless. In short he can make a good career.
But i still dislike him so much haha.

I don’t think he’d be great for JY’s career. He might be business savvy but he has no love of art or any idea how musicians work. The foundation gave him a break to finish his studies and take a break, after an intense year of touring – I don’t think that’s putting him on the backburner. He would break down from the pressure. The only good thing coming out of this situation is that Joon-young won’t feel like he owes the foundation all the time, so maybe he’ll start negotiating for what he wants.

I disagree, I did not have issues with his sabbatical but I was really, really angry when Young In told him they can’t help him earn the 20K USD because he won’t be able to fill the seats. That legitimately made me angry. He is their talent. It was their duty sabbatical or no sabbatical to keep his profile visible and hype him so that he can make a successful comeback when he chooses to do so. All they did was, let his popularity decline and push the other talent, (pianist who won the previous competition) that they have. Joon Young had a management that let him take things slow and that is not practical enough for him to sustain a steady income. Seung Jae has solid enough network that Joon Young’s manager from overseas agreed to let him handle his career in Korea. I think objectively, he needs people who don’t coddle him. He needs to be professional, in setting boundaries, expectations and needs to really think what he wants to do about his financial issues. Moping isn’t doing him much good. And its not like Director aka Jung Kyung’s grandmother cares about his talent. She bluntly called him a has been who will never reach greatness. How is staying with her foundation a good idea?

Like I said in the recaps, I have issues with the way they talk about musicians reaching their peak and fizzling out before they’re 30. He’s just returned from New York, had a big recital, and his CD is selling well. Musically he’s not in decline, he’s still growing. It’s just that someone else won 1st place so that guy has got the public’s short-lived attention for now. I think the drama is trying to show the bad side of having such a competitive system, how it can destroy young talents, and how it’s hard to have a stable income as a performing musician, even if you are at the very top.

To be honest, that is an issue I have with this show myself. Classical musicians get better and better with age, that is why there’s this misconception that classical musicians are for older generations, not true, most famous ones are older because it takes time to build a name, build skill and command an audience by name. Also, I think Lang Lang probably is close to controversial figure who commands an audience despite critics not favoring him all the time at the moment. So, its not impossible to get sold out halls without winning competitions/glowing reviews provided you know how to make yourself approachable to the audience.

Oh nono. It won’t be good for JY’s career
I meant that he’d do well in his own career with his sneaky & calculating attitude.
Poor Jy will have it even harder

Off topic of watch-reactions but this character’s wardrobe is mostly skirts & I like that they give the fresh vibes. But I really like this particular one; i wonder if it’s a wrap skirt 🤔

I don’t mind what Song-ha wears; Park Eun-bin makes it look elegant and pretty. But the other people in this show all wear such blah clothing.
