Beanie level: Chaebol’s poor doppelganger

This is the sageuk we’ve been waiting for. Directing, writing, acting, cinematography, editing, even the dang music, it’s all there. I’m grinning like the clown and laughing like the crazy king. Jin gu, you’ve done it again. You, too, Jin gu.

SKJ as NS III has to do so much with so little expression. Yet every emotional beat hits straight through the heart. I’m running out of words to describe how good his acting is in this.

It can cover the bad review from his last drama, he prove it here that he deserve the lead role

I agree. He’s doing an amazing job. I don’t understand how people even confuse Shin and Shinnamon because they look so different even though they’re played by the same person. And the way he portrays Shinnamon’s emotions is beautiful.

I haven’t watch this drama and I mean to. I’ve liked him since Cheese In The Trap, my first and only SKJ drama. Since then, I read criticisms of how awful his acting is. As I never watched him in anything else besides CITT, I had wondered if that was a fluke. Thankfully, it’s not.

Nah, Entourage was the fluke. I think it was bad writing and directing though more so than acting.
I feel like SKJ does best if given a challenge to rise to.

When your director stays on your perfect face for 15 seconds straight to capture all your subtle changes in emotion you know he believes in you as an actor.

The change in his face and eyes was heartbreaking. He is really hitting out of the ballpark with his skill in this role.
    Kudos to this young man!

I know Gramps is a trash can. He deserves to die lonely and sad. But when Shinbot decided to hug and comfort him anyway, damned if I didn’t tear up.

Our little bot wrestled with who he was vs. what was programmed into him, and decided he wanted to be the kind of person who would hug someone when they cried. That’s beautiful.

In my mind choosing to be kind even if people are faulty and they don’t necessarily deserve it may be the whole point of the story

I find it immeasurably sad that he spent his entire life trying to create the perfect little sociopath only to realise at the end he was completely wrong about everything.

I used to be an adult with a job and a life. Now I’m counting tissues.

Tissues can dry my tears but what about making me exist again?

HYUN MOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I’m convinced all 3 ladies were corpsing hard during the scene where YJ whacked the dough. (Corpsing is where an actor breaks and laughs for real)

Also other funny moments cause ep 10 was hilarious.

Noooooooooooo!, my heart screams.

Oh we’re going here, show? Let’s ride!, my mind says.

Na Moo saying over and over again how much he liked her between little whimpers…MY HEART. He wasn’t the only one crying.

Wait. Hold the phone. A misunderstanding that could have been drawn out for episodes and they just like, forgive and forget and go on being happy. UM WHAT? IS THIS DRAMALAND?

(also kisses)

Is it just me, or was, “Let’s stop here,” supposed to be a tense, drumroll moment, as in, misunderstanding that he wanted to chuck the relationship.

MY SEC KIM BROS THEORY: Hyung was actually the one who abandoned YJ, then lost his memory. He took on the memories of YJ. YJ and the fam went along with it to save hyung from the guilt. #twisted

Wildest theory I’ve seen: The red lady who kidnapped YJ and MiSo was actually…. YJ’s Hyung in drag. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

That’s what I thought too. The hyung claim YJ memories and for the sake of his family, YJ lose all of his memories. Mom know about it, that’s why how mom look at YJ is different from the way she look at SY.

PSJ gets a lot of love (for good reason), but my girl PMY is such a rockstar actress! Just look at those eyes! Convey the words she’s saying and all the words she’s not saying. 😍

Don’t know how I still feel sorry for a guy that stabbed his own brother, but I do. Nothing gets me in the heart like a broken bromance. Helluva scene.

Anyone else more moved by the apology than the confession?

But I was still screaming during that confession, tho 🙀

I actually breathed a sigh of relief when he said sorry. Like phewww boy is sincerely in love..

Same! I was worried she was gonna apologize first and let him off the hook. I love how willing he is to try new things and to change for her. He’s never had a woman to care about (really because of his trauma with Red Lady) and so never really had to be anything but his super self-involved self. But he is rising to the occasion!

*raises hand* oh me too girl.

That moment where you realize you’re watching a drama as much for the viki comments as the drama. (I’m looking at you Chinese fantasy). I can’t be the only one.

I seriously love Viki comments. 😀

Reading over the top and thirsty Viki comments is sometimes more entertaining than the drama itself!

Junho is my treasure, but the charisma of Jang Hyuk in suspenders cannot be denied. I forgot how charming he is in romcoms. I’ll just take both with a side of jajangmyeon, please. #wokoflove

And then there’s Junho playing a chicken like it’s a trumpet. Get in my life, Wok of Love!

All I could think of when I saw that, was that he shouldn’t do that with a raw chicken. He could get salmonella.
