Beanie level: Wrongly accused fugitive

Dropping by to bless your timeline with Yeo Jin Goo styling from My Absolute Boyfriend / Beyond Evil era🔥

I don’t mind his tops in Link at all. It’s his pants that are a huge crime to society😭

🤣 I liked Absolute boyfriend. They really conveyed the sense of confusion, frustration and rejection felt by the ex boyfriend when he realised he had messed up and could not rekindle the relationship because she was now in love and preferred AI over him.

I haven’t seen it, but if that’s how AI looks in tight jeans …

I loathed Absolute Boyfriend. I made the mistake of volunteering to write subtitles for it so I felt like I was committed to watching/subbing it but even still I think I ended up dropping it. It was the first time I saw YJG in anything and, unfortunately, it left such a bad taste in my mouth that I never want to see him again because it just brings back bad memories.

Oh gosh that level of watching for something you hate must have been awful. I don’t blame you for walking away to save yourself from untold frustrations. Was there a team of subbers?

          7

Yeah, it was on viki so there was a whole team of subbers. I think they managed to finish it just fine without me.

Can I ask a question? I have always been intrigued as to how the work is divided up. I had to transcribe small sections of audio for my therapy training and it’s loooong drawn out process requiring several listens to catch all the words.

Yeah, each episode is divided up into about ten minute blocks. Only one person is supposed to work on a block at a time.
Before the subbers can sub the episode, first the segmenters have to decide where each subtitle segment is going to start and stop.
When the subbers see the episode, the segments are ready to be filled in with the subtitles. When you click on a segment box, it will play the part of the episode that that subtitle will be displayed for. So you have to translate what is being said during that part and put it in the segment box. If you need to listen to it again, there’s a replay button so you can play just that one segment again.
Each episode probably has around a thousand segments.

Thank you! Ten minutes is long enough, especially if there are multiple people talking. That explains why the details say the percentages as the sections come in I guess.

Thank you for all that you do/have done to help those of us who would otherwise miss out on the shows good and bad!

You’re welcome. I actually haven’t helped that much though. I’ve only done a few shows and I’m not totally fluent so when I do help out I translate what I can but someone else has to come in and finish translating the rest 😅

We all have to start somewhere so please don’t down play it and you are further down the road than a lot of us who have picked up three words 😊

I only watched ABF for Yeo Jin Goo. 2nd ML was understandable at first but his schtick of not understanding that enough is enough got tiring really fast. Especially when he’s the one who dumped her in a very cruel way. I feel like ABF would have been much better as a shorter drama. 12 or less episodes would have been perfect. But still Young Goo was very cute and worth loving hahaha.

I agree there are a lot of dramas where they would be better off as 10-12 episodes so they didn’t need filler content. I had to forward through the held hostage scenes as I don’t do dramas with violence.

Oh he looks so good here
I didn’t pay attention to his styling before. But yeah they need to stop giving him baggy and ugly outfits

I just got used to it lol. I actually like some of his sweatshirts, ones that emphasize his wide shoulders and chest like this: https://imgur.com/6dhifdH

His pants are quite a shame, but whatever makes Gyehoon comfortable I guess hahaha. I’ll just headcanon that he’s trying to hide his great assets because he never wanted to date anyone till he met Dahyun xD

I think he looked soft with it which is okay i guess and yes i think the problem is his pants. His baggy pants are not looking good.
I suddenly have this thought that maybe stylist did it on purpose to show how heartbroken Eun Gyehoon is because of his personal matters that he doesn’t care about his clothes despite his status? I don’t know

I’ve seen Yeo Jingoo’s dramas before but i think this drama emphasize his young looks even more and Moon Gayoung looks so mature with proper styling. Sometimes i forget that Gyehoon and Dahyun are same age friends because of this…
        Is it just me?😅

I honestly didn’t care much about his costuming in Link at first because, (I hate to admit this) I also dress like at pretty often and I’m a university student. It’s not flattering at all, but it’s comfy so I get Gye-hoon’s logic (…if there is any). But then I remembered how hot he was in Beyond Evil with those tighter, all-Black outfits and immediately realized Link is doing this gorgeous man a great disservice. As for those jeans in Absolute Boyfriend, all I can say is WOW. Guess there was something to salvage from that steaming sh*tpile of a drama after all.

Yeo Jin Goo draws Lee Se Young
YJG: Jungjeon, don’t get too angry…
LSY: It’s alright!
*after finishing the drawing*
LSY: You did well.
YJG: I’ll draw you something better next time.
LSY: This one’s already nice.
*YJG accidentally rips the drawing*
LSY: *wails* JEEEONHAAAAAAA😭

So true! LSY keeps teasing YJG in the special like telling Jingoo how he probably enjoys playing Yi Heon cos he get to have a skinship with her. 😂

So true! They both joke around on-set a lot, especially Lee Se Young, and it’s so adorable how she calls him Wang Oppa. XD

I love how natural and comfortable Yeo Jin Goo and Lee Se Young are off-screen. No wonder it translates so well in the drama. 😄♥
