Another press conference, another eccentric ensemble worn by Jang Geun-seok, right?
On August 31, the cast of the movie Itaewon Murder Case [이태원살인사건], the mystery thriller based on a true story, convened for the film’s preview screening event. In attendance were actors Shin Seung-hwan, Jung Jin-young, and, of course, Jang Geun-seok.
The movie is based on the 1997 murder of a Korean university student in Seoul’s Itaewon district; Jang Geun-seok plays a Korean-American suspect in the case investigated by Jung Jin-young. (More plot details here.)
The film opens on September 10.
I’m no longer surprised by Jang Geun-seok’s aggressively eccentric fashion stylings, since it always seems as though he is determined to stand out as much as possible by going the unconventional route. That’s cool. I don’t think he always does so to his best advantage, however, which doesn’t negate the fact that he is cute and a promising actor. I’m just saying — dude knows how to strike a girlish pose:

Please dont put him in the gay section just because he has weird taste. Even if he is, there is nothing wrong with that. He reminds me of a vampire in that pale skin. You dont need makeup man. You look fine.

I am definitely looking forward to this movie! I’ve never seen JGS in anything before but based on JB’s previous posts about him it sounds like he’s very talented. He’s a bit like Lee Jun-ki, a little off-kilter fashion wise but never boring, that’s for sure!

@langdon813: Yup, he’s really talented, some people say he’s trying to be ” jack of all trades” ha ha . I’m not a fan of his fashion but I’m definitely a fan of his works : MC, singing, acting, and going to be directing somedays .

I saw the stills for his new drama “You’re beautiful” and is it just me or is there a Michael Jackson look/vibe to Jang Geun-seok there? I think it’s the hair and makeup…. It’s not as prominent here as in the stills…

Not trying to offend jang geun sook fans, but I definitely thought he was a cute new actress when I saw the picture. And then I saw the comment below it. Yes, it’s another offbeat ensemble, and it also reminisces of Michael Jackson’s outfits.

The wardrobe is one thing – I guess he has a say on what he puts on but doesn’t he have a stylist that makes sure his make-up is right?
Before I only blame his stylist (if he has one) everytime I see him with his weird (in my opinion) taste, now I blame his make-up artist, too. Unless he is channeling an Edward Cullen look, as mentioned above. But those actors (twilight) are edgy in their look, his is ewwy.
I also think he is turning gay or bi, not that his sexuality matters, it does not affect his acting skills, though. Maybe he is suppressing it (sexuality) and he can only express it in his fashion. i don’t know how Koreans are accepting about the sexual preferences of their actors/astist, but hey I am still interested to watch his movie, regardless of his fashion. Fashionista I am not, so who am I to judge anyway……….. OK I can’t help it , his taste is WTH????..
