After feeling sorry for myself all Saturday night I got up and watched 2 more episodes of Pegasus Market. How can this show only air one episode a week????????????????????????
Did my usual de-stress project and dug up a huge old rhododendron bush and cleaned up around the yard. Watched (or re-watched) more of The Untamed and worked on some photos of some happy dahlias and zinnias in my yard.
So, while I can hardly move today from soreness, I am feeling so grateful that I can count on all you wonderful beanies around the world to envelope me with virtual love and hugs.
Thank you @raonah
I had no idea that I wasn’t watering them enough all summer until it started to rain and cool off for several days. Then they all just went wild with blooms. I call them my happy dahlias.
Oh, and zinnias are such crazy flowers – I love them!
Actually they aren’t difficult at all. I plant the tubers in the ground and then try to stake them when they are bigger.
And I think what makes them hard is digging up the tubers and storing them during the winter.
Here in the Pacific Northwest our winters aren’t so harsh that I have to dig them up.
And they come back every year. There is a dahlia farm about 1.5 hours north of me that has a festival over Labor Day weekend. You should see all the crazy photographers in the 40 acre field when the sun is just coming up.
Try them – they even grow in pots!
@stpauligurl thanks for the info and advice! I live someplace where the tubers have to be lifted and I think hardly anyone sells dahlias locally. I know I can find them online for my pots, that’s a good idea.
And when you get them – look online for all sorts of information about growing them. I use GOOGLE for EVERYTHING. Even what bugs are eating my flowers?
good luck!
OH no – our weather is slowly turning cold. But we haven’t had such a hard freeze. yet.
Right now I’m grateful for every not-freezing-raining day here.

I too hurt that Pegasus is only on once a week. I find myself on the weekends watching it from the beginning.

I’m savoring every episode and making sure I don’t binge…

I’m going to pick it up but only when I have a few more episodes. It’s bad enough that the Good Place is only 20 minutes a week.

Thank you Bam- this kind of photography feeds my soul. Now I just have to figure out how to make it feed my bank account.

I understand that they are difficult to grow, you are to be commended! I’m too chicken to even try them 😕

Here’s more hugs for you, girl. Thank you for shoots of beautiful flowers. Now I am imagining all the character in Pegasus wearing them. HAHAHA. 😀

I’m so jealous. A hard freeze killed all of mine last week. I usually have them until at least the end of the month.
