Rumors of another Yoon Eun-hye drama

…may be greatly (or at least slightly) exaggerated. But still, even though the talk is still in the rumor stage, where there’s smoke…

If we choose to take the optimistic approach, Yoon Eun-hye may be making her return to television this year, according to reports that she’s considering the project Sweet Scandal, which had previously gone by the title Lie To Me.

Sweet Scandal is a romantic-comedy drama planned for a post-Midas broadcast on SBS, and Yoon has been linked to it in the press before. It seems both sides (her management and the drama’s producers) are a little exasperated with the press’s preoccupation with her casting, and the PDs have stated that Yoon’s casting news is premature. Her rep also stated, “She has considered the project, but there has been no decision. Reports that she’s been cast have come out three times now. With the reports coming out every time she’s considering a drama, it makes it difficult to actually consider the drama.”

But it’s tough when you’re Yoon Eun-hye, whose every movement — however minute and/or insignificant — tends to draw huge amounts of attention. She’s also something of a hitmaker in dramaland, even more so than other, bigger, A-list-ier stars (like, say, Sohn Ye-jin or Jung Woo-sung, whose names alone haven’t been able to save sinking drama ships) — I think Yoon manages to hit that perfect sweet spot of big-name recognition, popularity, cross-generational appeal, and likable public persona. Even her lesser series have performed better than average, and her attachment practically has HIT! written over a project. (Goong and Coffee Prince were uber-hits; Vineyard Man was one of the only dramas to survive the Jumong juggernaut; and My Fair Lady still pulled in upper-teen ratings despite being a dismal wreck of writing and acting.)

The drama has two noted directors onboard: Kim Soo-ryong of the short melodrama series Father’s House and Kwon Hyuk-chan of this year’s body-swapping melo-fantasy Secret Garden. That would be right up Yoon’s alley, since I think she’s at her best in rom-coms with a few melo moments, rather than, say, straight-up drama like Love Song, the melodrama remake of Comrades that she signed up to do last year, but which has understandably stalled since Park Yong-ha’s suicide last summer.

There have also been rumors placing Yoon in contention for KBS’s upcoming Maids, the follow-up from Pasta‘s writer, and MBC’s Discovery of Affection, the Hong Sisters project that also teased a Gong Hyo-jin possibility. Frankly, I’d be happy to see her in any of these dramas. She’s not the most skilled actress out there, but she’s just so darned likable — she puts so much of herself into her roles that what she lacks in technical ability, she makes up for with her big, open, enthusiastic heart.

Currently, Yoon Eun-hye is promoting her rom-com movie My Black Minidress, which releases this month.

i think park han byul is more better than YEH in this movie....i love her but i dont like her overacting when do photoshot....miss YEH there are so many talented actress out there not only you....sorry

As actor or actress, there will be some people who doesn't like you for any reason. Actually I found YEH is very likeable and loveable. I adore her because of her personality. I found her acting is great too. Mostly as Go Eun Chan. She was really let herself into the character. Even Gong Yoo has praised her in his many interviews.

I don't know why some people doesn't like coffee prince, may be because not one of their favorite genre drama. Coffee Prince is one of well made K-Drama ever. The cast, the ost and even when we watch it now it still very entertaining.

YEH put much effort to bring Eun Chan life. Some actors who acted in Coffee Prince also said how different the real YEH with Eun Chan. YEH is feminine girl but she could bring out the tomboyish Eun Chan very well. She didn't put much make up because Eun Chan is a tomboyish girl who wont use make up. But she still look beautiful without make up, she is natural beauty. She had to piggy back Gong Yoo who is much taller and bigger than she was. She didn't afraid look ugly. But most of fans found out that she is adorable as Eun Chan.

Anyway I may not her biggest fan, but i always interested in her projects because YEH is great actress who always work hard in any projects that she does. So if she is very popular now it is because of her hard work and support from all people who love her.

i just finished watching take care of aghashi

hope she does another drama series, shes a likable character and brings a certain cuteness to the show.

i hope the directing is as good as the two shows "coffee prince" and "take care of aghashi"

agh ! im so disappointed about the news ive read somewhere that eric would be yoon yeh's partner on her upcoming movie "lovesong" my! it would be better if her partner would be LEE DONG GUN 0.o
hope they'll team up on a romantic movie/drama project...

The 1st time I know about YEH was on LTM drama. It's an excellent drama for me. It's like ...she didn't acting at all...like..that's her doing things in real life!

I'm a lil bit different from you guys...I'm tracking her backward. From LTM...then finding her previous dramas to watch. I adore her very much like you guys did. I never thought that this pretty easy-going girl caught my eyes and mind to watch her over n over again in her dramas.

The most I like about her is her teeth..lol. Like a notty girl but cute in her own way. I think many PD nowadays like to have a not-so-perfect actress to be in their project. It's more realistic to viewers. Like Geum jan Di in BOF...starred by Koo Hye Sun, she's not pretty...but very cute when you watch her face doing this and that.

Now, after I watched LTM...I started dressing like YEH in the drama...lol. I never wore any skinny jeans before...but now I did.

yoon eun hye is the best korean actress and korean idol.'goong,vineyard man,coffee prince,my fair lady,lie to me' best korean drama.yoon eun hye is the so popular in iran and she have many fans in iran.i hope more drama from yoon eun hye.
