Go Soo’s classic-movie shoot for Bazaar

Ah, I do enjoy this time of the month, when all the fashion rags put out their teasers to upcoming photo shoots. It gives us such pretty pictures, like these from Harper’s Bazaar featuring Go Soo in a spread that looks like something right out of a classic old movie.

Go Soo’s current visibility in the press is due to his new movie, the highly anticipated war film The Front Line (or Gojijeon), co-starring Shin Ha-kyun. It sounds like an intense and compelling movie, set in 1953 amidst the backdrop of stalemated negotiations for a cease-fire between North and South, several months before the armistice would eventually be signed.

The body of a fallen commander is discovered, shot with a bullet from his own side. Officers suspect a traitor and send Shin Ha-kyun to investigate, where he reconnects with an old friend (Go Soo) whom he’d believed dead. The friend, once a weak student, is de facto leader of his own squadron. And yet, there are some rather suspicious circumstances surrounding his old friend and his speedy promotions over the past two years, the barely 20-year-old unit captain, and the curious squad. What could have happened in those lost two years?

Ah, forget Bazaar, now I really want to see this movie. Not that we have long to wait; The Front Line released today in Korea.

Cool pics. If this shoot were actually for a movie I'd say Go Soo's character would be a detective going undercover as young professor to investigate a series of mysterious "incidents" on campus.

I'm in love with this photoshoot, it's like something out of a Wong Kar-wai-heyday flick.
And Go Soo looks utterly gorgeous as always.

Flick sounds great, it's like Chungmuro is having a revival, after a slump (did I just imagine it, or did it just suck for a bit there?) but now it's suddenly sounding all promising again. Hopefully.

Heyzz... *waves* :)
I'm still around very much around, and thank you!

Ohh... Wouldn't EVER dream of making grabbyhands at JB's man, haha!
I'm not watching Spy Myungwol, nope, 'fraid it's not my cuppa cha, it's just not depressing enough for me. Y'know?
But if by mentioning it on a Go Soo thread you're hinting at WISFC? Then funnily enough I wrote a recap-memoir-thing about the show on Thundie's blog a bit ago if you wanna read: http://thundie.wordpress.com/2011/06/27/will-it-snow-for-christmas/

Oh and I could have told you Supah wouldn't touch Myung Wol with a ten foot pole. I was looking forward to it myself but after two episodes am really disappointed. Hoping it gets better.

Umm, In the Mood for Love part 2 with Go Soo please! ;)

He is so beautiful but especially in these pics. Totally swooning here. Can I please get a poster of that third one to hang?!

You just imagined it btw, supah! I still say Ahjussi, I Saw the Devil, and Bedevilled were great. But I do love violence in my movies so I may be biased. Hello Ghost was kinda cute too and actually made me cry at the end believe it or not.

This flick and Moby Dick look like they have potential.

Yeah, I thought of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=23oBMOvt85o -- and now that folks have pointed an Al Pacino likeness, I'm thinking that above clip crossed with Michael Corleone in Havana.

Yeah, those two and Coffee with Kim So-yeon. Wheeee!

I wish we could see more of him and less of the street!

Some of his shots, not so much here since we can't see him, look like he could be a young Al Pacino.

The setup kinda reminds me of Jack Nicholson's "Chinatown" but you're right, Jomo, he's like young Al Pacino with those intense dark eyes. I remember Al Pacino in the first Godfather as young Michael, and like Go Soo, those eyes just stay with you even a long time after.

Oooh! You're a fan, too?
Yes, in Godfather II, there was definitely a look from Michael that killed poor Fredo.

Love him and love the look.... but what's with his posture in the first picture? That is not a comfortable position to sit in (I tried it, just to be sure). Thanks, JB, I was needing a Go Soo fix.

hmmm that's weird! I watched this movie six days ago in Myungdong...I wonder if it was an early release? It was good though considering I don't like war movies (my friend gave me two choices - the new horror flick with Park Min-Young and cats or this)

I've adored Go Soo for a while now (how could I not?), but lately I love him even more imagining his younger self as Kim Soo Hyun. :P BTW, that first picture is screaming The Graduate at me...

i saw the long trailer in Arirang TV last weekend and it was sooooo intense. Go Soo's transformation from a coward who just wants to go home, to a very mean squadron leader is really something. Sent goosebumps to my skin watching it. I will really wait for that movie, it might take a year though =(. Just hope it will be shown here in my country too =(

I guess in classic movies they still had 21'st century sunglasses....

Still, GoSoo is one hot piece of man! Shame theres no close up ... You cant get the full effect of his eyes.

The shoot looks to be inspired by WKW film and Go Soo by Tony Leung Chiu Wai in a WKW film. I say good inspiration.

And I'm also intrigued by the film SHK is a great actor and usually chooses interesting projects.

Ah, the movie does sound interesting. He looks so good here, and I'm loving the pictures. I especially think the last one is swoon-worthy.

Speaking of this time of the year and photo-shoots, can the next one you post up be either Cha Seung-won's L'officiel Homme's shoot? Or his High Cut shoot. Or both. ;)

loving the photos and styling on this one. classic photoshoots are among my faves, and Go Soo is working it on this one. I have yet to enjoy his presence in a drama/movie, but that's probably because they're all weepies/war movies and I generally avoid both. The premise of this one seems interesting, but I'll wait for reviews to come out before deciding if I want to see it.
