Dramabeans 5-Year Anniversary Giveaway #3

girlfriday: Week three of the blazin’ birthday giveaway extravaganza extraordinaire!

javabeans: You know what that means: More presents! Man, what a spoiled 5-year-old Dramabeans is.

girlfriday: Right? If DB were a kid, we’d have one needy brat on our hands.

javabeans: Then again, most 5-year-olds receive presents, and DB’s giving ‘em out. Although I don’t know who gave that kid my credit card info.

girlfriday: Is that what’s going on? That explains a lot. This time we’re giving away a brand new iPod nano, but that’s not the best part. It’s chock full o’ goodies! It’s got a Javabeans Playlist on it, which I’m gonna venture to say is worth more than the player itself.

javabeans: We’ve also got a few more premium memberships to give out to Dramafever, in case you want to get friends/siblings/parents addicted to your drama poison of choice. Because as we know, drama addictions are best shared, not cured.

girlfriday: Yeah, rehab’s for quitters, and we’re no quitters!

javabeans: So get crackin’! By which we mean, please post up lots of nice thoughts for our many many guest posters over the years.

girlfriday: They know how much we appreciate them, but as we know from personal experience, sometimes the warmest thanks comes straight from you guys, so please be generous with the love!

And the winners of Giveaway #2 are…

  • Bethany, winner of a one-year premium subscription to Dramafever,
  • PrincessSerenity81, winner of a one-year drama membership to Crunchyroll,
  • and Bluefyre, winner of one $100 gift certificate to Yesasia.

Congratulations! We’ll be contacting you shortly via email. On to the next one!

Giveaway #3

Question: Actually it’s not a question this time, but a prompt: Thank a guest blogger, any guest blogger. That can mean any of our current contributors (i.e., gummimochi, kaedejun, HeadsNo2) or anybody who’s ever written a guest post on Dramabeans in the past. (*Don’t forget to use a valid email address, and please indicate at the bottom of your comment if you are NOT a resident of US/Canada.)

Prizes:

  • 1-year premium membership at DramaFever (US/Canada residents only)
  • another 1-year premium membership at DramaFever (US/Canada residents only)
  • an iPod nano (maybe with some stuff on it, wink-wink).

DramaFever offers free legally-licensed dramas and movies with high-quality English subtitles. With a premium membership you can watch unlimited, commercial-free, and enjoy extra content as well as unlimited mobile device access and high-definition. Check out recently added titles here.

Winners announced: Sunday, January 22, at 8pm, Pacific Standard Time*

*Or, 10pm in Mexico City, 11pm in NYC, 1am in Buenos Aires, 4am in London, 5am in Paris, noon in Singapore and Manila, 1pm in Seoul and Tokyo, or 3pm in Sydney and Vladivostok. I'd like to thank Samsooki for amazing recaps of My name is Kim Sam Soon. It's so nice to hear about these dramas from a male perspective. Every so often, especially when I am on dramabeans, I suspect only females watch Korean dramas.

Having watched MKISS so long ago, it was nice to reminisce through your recaps, laughing and crying all at the same time. Your entertaining recaps and insightful wit made it a pleasure to read!

Samsooki - My favorite drama of all time probably will always be My Name Is Kim Sam Soon...so when I saw that someone was recapping that drama, I got super excited. I usually watch an episode and then read the recap because it is nice to be able to say "I so thought that too!" (plus the thoughts of..."huh...I so didn't notice that...wow!")...anyways...thank you samsooki for providing recaps to this show that made me enjoy it all over again! (and it did make me rewatch it again...lovely trip down memory lane)

Kaedejun - I appreciate all the time you put into recapping Iris...it is a great drama but I would think it would be hard to recap with everything that was going on in it, so THANK YOU for recapping and sharing your thoughts on this awesome drama! My thanks to you for all of your other recaps...especially since you are so busy on your own blog too!

To All of the Guest Recappers for the end of the year posts - These are probably some of my favorite posts every year because I find out what I probably should have watch and then go do it! Hearing the thoughts of so many people makes it so much more interesting!

Please keep up the great work here on Dramabeans...I and so many others really enjoy it! Thank you! :)

I would like to thank Samsooki although you've written plenty of other things I would especially like to thank you for your Kim Sam Soon recaps. I started reading them and watching the show at a time when i thought perhaps I was over my drama addiction. Your obvious love of the show restored my faith in K dramas again so you have my most sincere thanks. Thank you Samsooki! From the NewYorican K drama obsessed girl.

Thank you, cassie.opeia and red pill for you're amazing, funny, heartwarming, and at times touching recaps of Sungkyunkwan Scandal. Since I'm the only one of my family and friends who's... how can I phrase it? obsessed (at least, according to them), I can't really talk about an episode once it's out. But reading your recaps made me feel like I was sitting around and talking to close friends. You seemed to share my sentiments and when we didn't agree, it was always fun to hear another's perspectives.

So from the bottom of my heart, thank you!

Dear Headsno2,

Thank you so much for the recaps of Tree with Deep Roots. It helped me a lot on understanding the drama to the fullest as sometimes I could not undertsand some of the convo/method/reasons and I would turn to your recaps and get my quesions answered. Therefore, I'm forever grateful.

I'm a resident in CANADA.

Thank you for you time.

I would like to thank Red pill and Cassie.opeia for Sungkyunkwan Scandal, which is one of my favorite shows, your recaps were amazing. But mostly I would like to thank all the guest recappers because the recaps are what have helped me find some of my favorite shows and have kept me watching.:)

HeadsNo2, thank you so much for your Tree With Deep Roots recaps (i never got to thank you in all the individual posts/recaps for the episodes.) I've also noticed that you've recently added Wild Romance and History of the Salaryman to your recapping list. Remember to get some sleep!

Orangy911, thank so much for the Me Too Flower recaps!! I would have never really discovered this drama without them. I was all ready to dismiss it until your episode 2 recap. Then I was hooked! Despite some missteps around episodes 13-14, this was a great gem of a drama and made Bong-sun one of my favorite kdrama heroines of all time.

And Kaedejun, you have a special place in my heart for doing dramas that I feel not a lot of people watch but reaaaally want to know what's happening in them - i.e. Athena (thank you for suffering through it!), Romance Town, What's Up.

I want to thank kaedejun, after subbing the lackluster Musical, I was worried you might skirt away from subs of musical-type shows but then you came back for What's Up which is so much better. Thanks because I probably would have avoided the show had you not subbed it.

I'd like to say thanks to kaedejun for her recaps of What's Up and The Musical! I was really looking forward to both of these shows, but wanted to read some plot summaries and impressions before committing to watching them. kaedejun's recaps are consistently high-quality and entertaining, giving a clear picture of what the show stands for along with some great analysis. So thank you so much for your hard work!

Thank you sooooooooo much Samsooki!!! XD

I cannot express how much I grew to love City Hall because of your recaps--and thus, the username..hahahaha... I absolutely love your fun & witty comments, and all the more that you're a guy writing it.

Though I was kinda sad after City Hall ended and your recaps stopped, I was more than happy when I saw that you had begun to recap the the timeless classic drama "My Name Is Kim Sam Soon". Though I had watched Sam Soon beforehand, I had more fun watching it again this time around, since I was reading your recaps along with it.

Here's hoping you will recap another drama soon and enlighten us all ;)

Sincerely,
A Fan of your Writing--CityHallFan
