Dramabeans 5-Year Anniversary Giveaway #3

girlfriday: Week three of the blazin’ birthday giveaway extravaganza extraordinaire!

javabeans: You know what that means: More presents! Man, what a spoiled 5-year-old Dramabeans is.

girlfriday: Right? If DB were a kid, we’d have one needy brat on our hands.

javabeans: Then again, most 5-year-olds receive presents, and DB’s giving ‘em out. Although I don’t know who gave that kid my credit card info.

girlfriday: Is that what’s going on? That explains a lot. This time we’re giving away a brand new iPod nano, but that’s not the best part. It’s chock full o’ goodies! It’s got a Javabeans Playlist on it, which I’m gonna venture to say is worth more than the player itself.

javabeans: We’ve also got a few more premium memberships to give out to Dramafever, in case you want to get friends/siblings/parents addicted to your drama poison of choice. Because as we know, drama addictions are best shared, not cured.

girlfriday: Yeah, rehab’s for quitters, and we’re no quitters!

javabeans: So get crackin’! By which we mean, please post up lots of nice thoughts for our many many guest posters over the years.

girlfriday: They know how much we appreciate them, but as we know from personal experience, sometimes the warmest thanks comes straight from you guys, so please be generous with the love!

And the winners of Giveaway #2 are…

  • Bethany, winner of a one-year premium subscription to Dramafever,
  • PrincessSerenity81, winner of a one-year drama membership to Crunchyroll,
  • and Bluefyre, winner of one $100 gift certificate to Yesasia.

Congratulations! We’ll be contacting you shortly via email. On to the next one!

Giveaway #3

Question: Actually it’s not a question this time, but a prompt: Thank a guest blogger, any guest blogger. That can mean any of our current contributors (i.e., gummimochi, kaedejun, HeadsNo2) or anybody who’s ever written a guest post on Dramabeans in the past. (*Don’t forget to use a valid email address, and please indicate at the bottom of your comment if you are NOT a resident of US/Canada.)

Prizes:

  • 1-year premium membership at DramaFever (US/Canada residents only)
  • another 1-year premium membership at DramaFever (US/Canada residents only)
  • an iPod nano (maybe with some stuff on it, wink-wink).

DramaFever offers free legally-licensed dramas and movies with high-quality English subtitles. With a premium membership you can watch unlimited, commercial-free, and enjoy extra content as well as unlimited mobile device access and high-definition. Check out recently added titles here.

Winners announced: Sunday, January 22, at 8pm, Pacific Standard Time*

*Or, 10pm in Mexico City, 11pm in NYC, 1am in Buenos Aires, 4am in London, 5am in Paris, noon in Singapore and Manila, 1pm in Seoul and Tokyo, or 3pm in Sydney and Vladivostok. Okay, you get the point. (You can refer to this handy Time and Date converter to find out what this is in your time zone.)

RedPill, you were amazing at recaps. Using innuendo that tvxq fans could understand. You never failed to make me laugh at blunt observations. I would always remember you :)

First, I would like to say Thank You for HeadsNo2. I first know you through your Tree with Deep Roots recaps. That drama is one of a kind sageuk drama with its witty script, so I gues that's makes you a wonderful and lucky recapper.
At first I'm anticipating Tree with Deep Roots only for Song Joong Ki, but then I check on dramabeans and they pick it up to recap. And you're the one who write the recap, I don't know you, but I read your writing and your writing really hooked me to watch TWDR again. Sageuk is not my favorite kind of drama, but thanks to your recaps, I stick to it. HeadsNo2, If TWDR's charm is the great dialogue, your charm is your writing.
Great to know you!

Second, My Thank you goes to gummimochi who kindly assisting javabeans recapping my favorite sitcom High Kick 3. I like your recap on Running Man too but because I'm not watching it so sometimes it makes me confused. But still I always drop by to read your recaps.

Third, I'd like to say thank you to kaedejun. I know your a long time resident here, I first read your recap on Prosecutor Princess. I'm glad you're also recapping What's Up, I'm just so desperate I thought no one gonna pick it up, but thank God you did!

And last but not least, Dahee_fanel I love you so much..!! <3 <3
I'm so in love with your writing, you captivate me, your like an espresso for me, the taste is still linger on..
Please write again on dramabeans....

P.S.
Can't I say Thank you to javabeans and girlfriday too?
I hope you don't mind. I'm truly glad I stumbled on your blog, reading your writings, thoughts, comments, become a part of this community you built, it means a Lot to me.. Having a bad day, check on your blog, read your conversations, make my day better. Like someone once say you're both like butter and bread, but because I'm an Asian, you're like water and rice (you can't cook rice without water, right?), inseparable.
Love you guys!! muach muach <3 <3 <3

A big thank you to HeadsNo2 for keeping up with History of a Salaryman!! That's my new dramacrack and I'm so grateful that you're my recap supplier. And you're so quick!! I check the day the episode airs and there's my recap! Do you know how happy that makes a drama-addict? Freakin giddy as hell. I watch episodes raw but my ignorance of the Korean language prevents me from fully understanding the funny. Thanks again HeadsNo2!

it's crazy to think that your recaps of running man was what got me started with that show... my parents are huge fans of the show and i never understood why they would like it and dismissed it as 'silly'. but by chance i stumbled upon your recap one time and after reading it decided to give the show a chance.
now it's a common family pasttime ^^ i cant thank you enough!!

Also, I know that she has her own website to maintain. Thank you, kaedejun, for pulling double duty on dramabeans and at your own personal site. Millions of thanks for your talented posts!

I appreciate and look forward to your work =) I love the recaps for Running Man, Whats Up, history of the salary man, etc without you guys, either JB and GF wouldn't get any sleep to have to recap all dramas and variety shows, or they wouldn't get recapped at all, so thank you very much!

keep up the great work and have a lovely 2012!

OK, I'll say this again - thanks to Thundie for the hilarious crossover/slashfic/mashcap that she did of 'Can You Hear My Boss Protect the New Gisaeng's Heart" - it was moving, and beautiful, and freaking hilarious. I felt really bad for the (ridiculous) amount of flack Thundie recieved cos of it.

Also thanks to Samsooki for My Name is Kim Sam Soon - it was one of my first kdramas, and a pleasure to relive.

Thanks to all the guest bloggers though, you guys are dedicated, which I respect =]

I wanna thank only1tony for the movie reviews. :) I visit Dramabeans everyday for updates and drama reviews, but the movie reviews are a special treat 'cause sometimes dramas get too long too watch, I prefer movies. I'm quite selective when it comes to dramas and movies, so reading the reviews help me pick which to watch. It's also nice to see a movie from a different perspective, so thanks for all the effort tony! :)

Big thanks to all the other guest bloggers as well. Some dramas which I love were recapped/reviewed by you guys, and without them, I'd have some serious problems. >.< So thanks for all the hard work! :)

You want us to pick just one? That's like asking a parent to name their favourite child...in front of the others. But I guess the price I 'll have to pay. So my favourite guestie would definitely have to be Kaedejun. The reason? Too many of them. And I still don't know how to pronounce the name.

kaedejun (and aberdeen_angus)
.....

What to say about you....hmmm
I read your recap on Athena while I'm trying to look for Athena synopsis.
I'm quite kdarama-starving at that moment.
I'll stalk any drama on air.....anything watchable LOL
Then I fall upon Athena, which genre I like, action with spy, double agent spy, love triangle bad and evil etc etc.
And....I found your recap (a week late as I recall) but the content is so deep and I'm stuck following DB to keep reading it.
Alas...the drama is getting worst but still I watch it - I don't know what lure me to keep stalking this drama - and nobody ship the Athena board when ... voila ... I still can read your recap in DB and you feel the same way too.

Final word.....thank you to stay in Athena ship while others not, reading your recap is such an encouragement to me to finish the drama whatever the ending will be.

I would like to thank gummimochi for the Running Man recaps. You have no idea how much I love RM, and RM international subbing team is always a couple episodes behind (NOT complaining here because I do appreciate isub for their HQ subbing), so it's nice to read a head a little bit =)

When dramabeans started recapping 1N2D, I just tell myself that they need to recap RM too. Like come on, if you're going to recap 1N2D, you have to recap RM too! So I just want to thank you for your contribution and effort in recapping RM.
