Dramabeans 5-Year Anniversary Giveaway #3

girlfriday: Week three of the blazin’ birthday giveaway extravaganza extraordinaire!

javabeans: You know what that means: More presents! Man, what a spoiled 5-year-old Dramabeans is.

girlfriday: Right? If DB were a kid, we’d have one needy brat on our hands.

javabeans: Then again, most 5-year-olds receive presents, and DB’s giving ‘em out. Although I don’t know who gave that kid my credit card info.

girlfriday: Is that what’s going on? That explains a lot. This time we’re giving away a brand new iPod nano, but that’s not the best part. It’s chock full o’ goodies! It’s got a Javabeans Playlist on it, which I’m gonna venture to say is worth more than the player itself.

javabeans: We’ve also got a few more premium memberships to give out to Dramafever, in case you want to get friends/siblings/parents addicted to your drama poison of choice. Because as we know, drama addictions are best shared, not cured.

girlfriday: Yeah, rehab’s for quitters, and we’re no quitters!

javabeans: So get crackin’! By which we mean, please post up lots of nice thoughts for our many many guest posters over the years.

girlfriday: They know how much we appreciate them, but as we know from personal experience, sometimes the warmest thanks comes straight from you guys, so please be generous with the love!

And the winners of Giveaway #2 are…

  • Bethany, winner of a one-year premium subscription to Dramafever,
  • PrincessSerenity81, winner of a one-year drama membership to Crunchyroll,
  • and Bluefyre, winner of one $100 gift certificate to Yesasia.

Congratulations! We’ll be contacting you shortly via email. On to the next one!

Giveaway #3

Question: Actually it’s not a question this time, but a prompt: Thank a guest blogger, any guest blogger. That can mean any of our current contributors (i.e., gummimochi, kaedejun, HeadsNo2) or anybody who’s ever written a guest post on Dramabeans in the past. (*Don’t forget to use a valid email address, and please indicate at the bottom of your comment if you are NOT a resident of US/Canada.)

Prizes:

  • 1-year premium membership at DramaFever (US/Canada residents only)
  • another 1-year premium membership at DramaFever (US/Canada residents only)
  • an iPod nano (maybe with some stuff on it, wink-wink).

DramaFever offers free legally-licensed dramas and movies with high-quality English subtitles. With a premium membership you can watch unlimited, commercial-free, and enjoy extra content as well as unlimited mobile device access and high-definition. Check out recently added titles here.

Winners announced: Sunday, January 22, at 8pm, Pacific Standard Time*

*Or, 10pm in Mexico City, 11pm in NYC, 1am in Buenos Aires, 4am in London, 5am in Paris, noon in Singapore and Manila, 1pm in Seoul and Tokyo, or 3pm in Sydney and Vladivostok. Okay, you get the point. (You can refer to this handy Time and Date converter to find out what this is in your time zone.)

Well, I know it's been a while, but I'd like to thank the team of dw4p and soyjoy for recapping Smile You!
I know it was tough and long...and I don't believe they ever quite made it to the end (I'm getting old so I don't quite remember and am too lazy to go back and check) I guess things kinda dwindled down...but hey, it was a great effort, and I remember always being excited and having fun reading their recaps!
Hope to see, I mean read, them again sometimes!
Big THANK YOU to all who make this site GREAT! Yes, that includes you JB and GF! And me too I guess...

I love each and every one of the guest writers. Each of you have a role inopening up more shows to those of us that cant invest the time to watch certain series. You efforts in keeping us inthe loop are much appreciated. Special shout out to Samsooki for the recaps of "My name is Kim Sam Soon." it's my all time favorite kdramas, so ur recap means that much more.

Gummimochi! Thank you for recapping Running Man, and for doing it so brilliantly. I often try recapping the episodes to my friends verbally (by trapping them and refusing to let them go), and I know how difficult it can be pick out all the important details without running their ear off (many ears have been sacrificed in my attempts). Not only do you do an amazing job of recapping the episodes without giving us every single word, I think you convey the friendships/relationships, characters of each member and the crack-like quality of Running Man that makes me watch is live via streaming, watch it again once subs are out, then read a recap by gummimochi.

PS: Who's excited for the Sherlock special? :)

I'd like to thank more than one!

Samsooki for bringing back a timeless classic and making me feel the way I felt when I watched samsoon. I am eternally grateful that you took that on.

to Gummimochi for helping out on High Kick 3 recaps!! Hk3 has become my #1 drama of last year and the way it's going I'm sure it will be #1 for this year for a while! I'm sure that Javabeans wouldn't have been able to keep up with the load of recapping if it weren't for your help! thank you!

Kaedejun for The Musical Recaps. Although not my favorite drama you helped keep my Choi Daniel addiction sated even when I was too busy to watch the show! Thank you!!

To HeadsNo2 for History of a Salaryman and for updating us on Padam Padam. Two dramas that intrigued me from the beginning but weren't sure about until I read your recaps. Thank you!

I know this is supposed to be for guest writers but I'd also like to thank Javabeans and Girlfriday who put their all into delivering well thought out, articulate and FUNNY recaps every week. I love you!

Thank you to all the guest bloggers who have posted the entertaining, funny recaps for all of us!! :D I have read almost all of your posts in fact - they were a big help to me especially when I was very bored and had nothing to do!

But, I would like to say a special thank you to kaedejun; For being able to finish off You've Fallen for Me recaps (I found it very very interesting to read) and posting recaps on The Musical, What's Up, The End of the Year review for 2011, Romance Town (I remember I was excited to read your recaps for this drama), Athena (I seriously thought your posts/recaps was far more entertaining than the drama itself but that's just me hehe) and all the other recaps and posts you have done!!

I've very much enjoyed reading your posts and recaps on dramabeans! :D I look forward to more posts from kaedejun in 2012! May kaedejun have a successful and entertaining recaps and posts on dramabeans this year! :D

I would like to thank Santa Claus for his inebriated, I mean, insightful end of the year review and the Bad Guy ep 15 review. It brought great laughs and summarized dramas into a manageable length for a student with an attention span of a squirrel. Not only do you run around the world giving away presents (Thanks for getting me Shim Changmin by the way, I really wanted him for Christmas this year) but you put aside time in your busy schedule appeasing reindeer to write and grace us Dramabeans readers with your words of wisdom. I look forward to your next whiskey induced review and until then, happy drinking.

I would like to thank Kaedejun for her numerous recaps and reviews. Whether in this site or her own site. I've been reading her posts since the time she still used her wordpress instead of her current website. So, once again, kamsahamnida! But i would also like to thank the usual bloggers such as javabeans and girlriday AND all the other guest bloggers. Without u guys, I would literally go crazy.

woot woot! guest recappers shoutout!!
I would like to thank all the guest recappers on Dramabeans, simply because I've seen this website grow so much in just the past 2 years. I would especially like to express my gratitude to kaedejun and gummimochi. I totally got into High Kick cuz of gummimochi's recaps! :) I also like who kaedejun stuck to birdie buddy, cuz I really wanted to hear someone else's input on that drama (Oh, what an INFURIATING ending). I really appreciate the guest blogging system because of the variety it provides, and I also like to check out the guests' blogs nowadays, too.

So thank you~ Because not only did you get me to watch the drama, when I was unable to get to a computer to watch it, I could depend on your recaps to read through my touch...andddddd help me remember which episode I last watched. Thank you once again!~

To Samsooki: Thank you for your Kim SamSoon recaps. Although I did watch the series early in my kdrama-watching-addiction, your recaps pointed out things that I hadn't noticed then.

To gummimochi: Thank you for your Running Man recaps~! I became addicted to the show after starting to read some of your posts. ^^

HeadNo2, recently your High Kick recaps have been wonderful slices of heaven and your Padam Padam halftime recap has, as with many of Dramabeans' recaps, pointed out little details that I would have missed without your post.

and, last but not least, Santa Claus~! Hilarious end of year post! XD Hope to see more posts from you if you can :3

gummimochi....thank you tremendously for those Running Man episode recaps. I've become a stupid fan (the ones who laugh out loudly and obnoxiously at the ridiculously funny things going on, only to get glared at and yelled at by their siblings who are sitting nearby...who just can't appreciate the humor of running man) of running man within the last couple of weeks.
The funny thing is that at first I would read your caps before watching the episodes, but now I find myself reading them even after I've watched the episodes. So thank you! For your caps and the humor and side comments!

Samsooki,

I need to thank the fellow stuffed toy that suffered through the drama heroes Jin-Heon and Samsoon..I know.. Being squashed in their arms whenever thay have a spat surely hurts.. Being asked for an opinion was even difficult.. Anyways, you still ,have the heart to tell everyone the love story that happened within Bon Appetit..

(Hwang Tae Kyung was harsh enough to leave me at the attic..But it surely sealed the deal with Min-yeo, i'm no longer bitter about it.. )

Thanks for recapping their story,, I wonder who'll be the next doll to tell a story..
:)

Dear Kaedejun,

You have rescued the dramas I could not bear to see being not recapped from not being recapped. You have shared your wonderful writing, your interesting opinions, and otherwise excellent recapping, and I adore you for it. May you see many long years on this website, and also on your own wonderful blog. May you have a long and colorful history with excellent dramas, and have a great 2012. Thank you so much for recapping!
