Anti-wedding hijinks for Mirae’s Choice

If there’s anything Mirae’s Choice (Future Choice) wins, it’s the This Premise Is New (And Maybe Crazy) Award. We’ve got a heroine (Yoon Eun-hye) battling her future time-traveling ajumma self (Choi Myung-gil), who wants to stop her at all costs from marrying the man she loves. What I want to know is, what the heck is wrong with future hubby Lee Dong-gun that requires such drastic measures? And are divorces not possible in 2043?

A second teaser reveals a little more about the characters and continues to be light rom-com fun. Mirae is an aspiring TV variety writer, but is used to rejection. One day her thirty-years-later future self shows up as a chic and bossy ajumma who declares that she’ll introduce her to a great man — not-her-husband Jung Yong-hwa, a secret chaebol masquerading as a VJ at the station he’ll own someday. (Below he’s pictured with Go Doo-shim, who plays his network CEO grandmother.)

Lee Dong-gun on the other hand, is a rather puffed-up news anchor whose name means “god.” No wonder he thinks he’s god’s gift to man. (Though that still doesn’t explain the Star Wars get-up in the stills, which hilariously came with no explanation. Closet fanboy?) I love that he’s introduced in the teaser as Mirae’s Husband (= Future Husband). We’re gonna get a LOT of mileage out of this one pun, aren’t we?

Yoon Eun-hye will naturally fall for him because duh, she married him the first time, only Future Mirae (lol) will stop at nothing to put the brakes on that budding romance because she knows that Jung Yong-hwa is the better choice. And they do seem to fit the Darcy vs. Daddy Long Legs hero types to a tee. As advertised, I think it will be a happy dilemma indeed. Yay for a new rom-com on the horizon.

Mirae’s Choice premieres October 14, following Good Doctor.

Yonghwa is looking real fine...already handsome & getting better & better looking. Unfortunately his still shots really do show the same expressionless face like his previous dramas. Hope he'll be better in motion than these bland shots... Otherwise cringeworthy performances coming up... No....

I actually was concerned myself looking at the stills and poster shots, but when I saw the BTS of his poster shoots with YEH and Han Chae-ah that was posted on another site, I can say I'm a bit relieved. Really hoping he does a good job with this drama.

After seeing them in character, I'm still expecting Mi Rae to demand proof -- genetic testing, maybe -- that this woman is her future self. She doesn't look enough like her to be from the same continent, let alone a close relative.

I'm pretty pysched for this drama b/c of LDG -I've his comedic acting in When It's At Night. It was a refreshing change b/c, like JYH, he typically played a stoic aloft loner. Seeing how slick he looks in the stills and then in like Darth Vader getup he's certainly gotten me interested!

I'm a YEH fan, b/c I thought she was wonderful in Goong and Coffee Prince; been watching most of her work since then and still waiting for that magic to come from her. I'm hoping that the overacting in the teaser is more emblematic of the character of the younger self she's playing (people young who's down-and-out, and where life is full of rejections, they tend to get overly dramatic...^^)

Well, teasers and stills have whet my appetite! I'm ready to dig in - can't wait for next week or so (gotta wait for subs...^^)

Ko Du-Shim, the mom from You're the Best LSS and Sparkling is all dolled up in this show! She usually is styled as the frumpy down to earth mom, but this is a change I like.
And Choi Myoung-Gil is chic as always. Her hair is awesome. But it was pretty in I Summon You Gold too so I'm not surprised. Can I look like her when I'm her age?

I would rofl if the sassy future Mirae -Shim Duk from I summon you gold?!- isnt her and its some random girl/ahjumma that wanted to marry Shin but couldnt and wants to prevent it from happening! oh and JYH and LDG look so much alike that my head hurts x.x it isnt a coincidence!
PS: that Blurred Lines song pisses me off! never thought id hear it in a drama xD

YEH is my favorite K-actress, so I'm definitely going to check this drama out. It's the only drama I'm really looking forward to right now. :-)

the problem is that yong hwa in this drama looks like he's playing himself...he looks like he should be playing the role of an idol band member...couldn't they have changed his hair or something to make him look different?
