Drama viewership ratings for the week of Oct. 15-21, 2018

Now that we’re well into this drama cycle, it looks like the majority of shows have found their footing. Some ratings are steadily shooting up, while others are trickling down; all in all, they’re definitely keeping us on our toes. First off, the front-runners of Monday and Tuesday have consistently been romantic shows, with 100 Days My Prince still on top. All hail the prince!
In the middle of the week, darker shows like The Guest and Hundred Million Stars From the Sky have stayed in the 3-4 percent range for quite some time, though I’m sure they’re faring much better with online viewers. Over on weekends, the numbers for My Only Ally continue to increase, and the numbers for Room No. 9 continue to decrease. However, we still have plenty of time for improvement.

Even though the DB's ratings reports have never been all inclusive, I was really hoping to see how Channel A's Twelve Nights fared. The first two episodes are beautiful and contemplative with well-written characters. Fighting Twelve Nights!

That's too bad. Although the tempo for Twelve Nights is a bit slower than most dramas, it is really a gem to watch. And man, the ending of episode 2 was unexpectedly seductive and overall the drama is just beautifully shot.

I've never heard of Channel A. If that's some minor cable network then 0.6% might not be a bad rating.

Aww... i like it so far (am waiting for ep 3) it is a quiet, slow, melo drama but it has a nice feeling too.

They have moved to Monday post which i find appropriate and even asked for in 2017. Dramabeans target main channels which i think is right because we all know there are dozens of channels out there having their own original content. It would be too difficult to include each and every show in ratings post.

Here's some more interesting info about k-drama ratings. If 100DMP passes Prison Playbook, which it's poised to do, it will become the highest rated weekday primetime (Mon/Tue, Wed/Thur) drama on cable.

It reminds me of Mother (which had similar ratings) in that it's darker storyline and the mood of it isn't going to appeal to everyone.

@ordinaryguy92, thank you for posting the ratings for DAE JANG-GEUM IS WATCHING. I figured that it would have low numbers because of its late-night slot on Thursdays. Too bad, because it's so great to have Shin Dong-wook back in Kdramaland.
I'm glad to see that 100 DAYS MY PRINCE is among tvN's highest-rated shows ever. The cinematography has been gorgeous in some of the outdoor scenes. The OTP is memorable.

Thanks for compiling the ratings figures, @sailorjumun! It's gratifying to see 100 DAYS MY PRINCE doing so well. After 2017's crop of sageuks (REBEL, SAIMDANG, SEVEN DAY QUEEN, THE KING LOVES), it feels as if 2018 has been experiencing a drought when it comes to hack-and-slash historical dramas. It felt like a long stretch since GRAND PRINCE aired early in the year.
Pssst, @mary. CSS mayday. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you'd rather know about it, right? Methinks @sailorjumun needs an updated template. :-( Thank you both for all your hard work behind the scenes. ;-)

Uee has return to her glory days of Ojakkyo Brothers with another KBS weekender: My Only Ally. Maybe i sould try watching it. I remember liking her in OB though i started watching for Joowon after baker kim tak gu hype 🤣. And i really liked her and lee seo jin in Marriage Contract which was a short MBC weekender.

I started to watch "My One Ally" a while ago. And I love it. It has a good plot, stories, and characters. Much better chaebol family than "My Golden Life", LoL.
