Team Dramabeans: What we’re watching

So, what are we all watching this week?

What kept you reaching for more (or agonizing when there was no more), and what made you want to throw your remote through the screen? Time to weigh in…

mary

Angel’s Last Mission: Love: That ballet practice scene was hot and hilarious. I don’t know how Shin Hye-sun can keep a straight face and exude graceful elegance while L makes those I-shall-not-think-evil-thoughts-I-shall-not-think-I-shall faces the whole time. I like this show well enough, but I will love this show forever and ever if the Miss Elena introduction means they wouldn’t give Nina the usual “nice girl is scorned by love, turns revengey and mean” arc. She’s a wonderful person who needs to learn how to love herself more. And honestly, both girls could use some healthy competition. If Yeon-seo has two guardian angels, why can’t Nina have a kooky ballerina mentor?

Rescue Me 2: I picked this back up and can’t help but marvel at how despicable Min-cheol is. We don’t even get to see any of his redeeming qualities. There’s just hints that they exist because some people are loyal to him, yet he still treats those friends as badly as he does the average person. It gave me a bit of whiplash, going from watching four shows where righteous underdogs subvert the law to fight the Big Bad, to Rescue Me 2 where an actual small-time crook goes against a host of evil guys. I’m convinced the only reason Min-cheol doesn’t eat up the cult’s bullsh*t is because he’s already full of it himself. It’s funny in an OCN kind of way.

Lookout: What’s the deal with the hot priest? When will Soo-ji meet Do-han (as part of the gang and not as a despicable corrupt prosecutor)? When will Bo-mi show herself to everyone? So many questions! This show is bad for impatient people like me. :'( I wish I can marathon 16 episodes in one sitting like the old days.

Great Escape: The haunted mountain house! I’m finally getting a feel for Kang Ho-dong’s strengths (which is literally his strength LOL). You can be smart and draw all the diagrams you want, but some things in life need you to just grit your teeth and do it. Some people are good at sitting down and playing spot-the-difference with a ton of bloody talismans, while some like to hold their breath and enter a spooky closet with a haunted water tank to blindly feel around for a key. Hehe~ This horror episode had a nice balance of both types of challenges, giving everyone something to do even if it’s just squealing and being terrified out of their minds in Dong-hyun’s case. It might be my favorite episode this season, even beating out the ones about zombies. 🙂

Perfume: I had to calm myself down before I wrote this, because the first two episodes of Perfume made me nope out harder—and earlier—than I ever have for a drama. This is the worst portrayal of the always potentially problematic full-body makeover premise I have ever seen. The show endlessly mocks Ha Jae-sook’s looks, her body, her age, her pitiful status as a betrayed wife on the eve of divorce; her physical attributes are continuously played for either laughs or humiliation. The message of the first hour seems to be that getting old and fat (according to the standards of this drama) means it’s time to kill yourself—unbelievably, suicide is repeatedly played as a joke, and in one instance used as a threat so that the heroine can get what she wants. The titular magic perfume that changes her into Go Won-hee might be masquerading as a chance for freedom, but in reality it’s a cruel excuse to show repeated shots of what we’re supposed to believe is the heroine ballooning grotesquely when she changes back, actually ripping through her clothes. Each time she goes back to her real self, the camera angles scream, “HAHA! She’s fat again! How funny and gross!” It’s nauseating, and rage-inducing. The hero, on the other hand, I had reservations about when I read the promos, and he’s unfortunately worse than I’d feared. His multiplicity of phobias and allergies are technically possible, but what I find unbelievable is that he expects everyone he works with to accommodate his disabilities, but is fine with disregarding others’ illnesses to the point of injury. He also abandoned the unconscious female lead on the street, at night. In my experience, being disabled generally gives you more empathy for other people’s difficulties—it does not turn you into a psychopath. The man is trash and not a hero I am ever going to root for, and this pains me because I have been waiting years to see Shin Sung-rok lead a rom-com. The entire, very talented cast deserves better. This show seems determined to obliterate the idea that a woman larger than size zero has dignity or humanity, and that makes me sad given the great strides we’ve seen in dramaland. Hard pass.

The Secret Life of My Secretary: Ugh. UGH. I was at the end of my patience with this show last week, but now I’m actually angry. The writers of this drama are killing this story and its characters by delaying this reveal. The fact that she still hasn’t told him the truth by the end of episode 10 is not only making me truly dislike Gal-hee—whom I started out loving—but the circle of carnage caused by her lies is steadily growing, and now that we have this ridiculous one-month dating scheme on the horizon, it’s only going to get worse. Now Min-ik can’t figure out which girl he likes because they’re the same person; Dae-joo, who actually seems decent if a little short on guts, has misunderstood Veronica’s intentions; and Veronica, ever lacking in sense, is setting both herself and Gal-hee on a disastrous path. In no world are the only two choices here either Gal-hee impersonating Veronica for a month or Veronica being forced to marry Min-ik. What’s upsetting me about this show is how skillfully the writers made us fall in love with Min-ik, and how little consideration they’re now giving to his feelings. It’s clear that this already abandoned orphan who’s hated by his fake family and can’t even see faces is meant to bear all the emotional fallout caused by literally everyone he trusts and likes in his life. I don’t know how they want us to keep rooting for this narrative, or for a heroine who is this selfish and weak—her “I promise I’ll tell him the truth tomorrow” is beginning to sound like a running (unfunny) gag. Guess the joke’s on me, though—I love these two actors in these roles, and especially Min-ik’s character, so much that I don’t know if I can stop watching. This drama has managed to do what I thought was impossible: give us a terrible and nonsensical overarching story, but amazingly heartfelt moments, scenes, and character interactions. Grr. I’ll see you all back here next week.

My Fellow Citizens: I binged the rest of this after submitting my WWW last week, and it was good to the final scene. What an unusual, refreshing, hilarious, near-perfect viewing experience this was! My only complaint was how late Mi-young found out about Jung-gook’s past—I wish the reveal had come sooner so that we could see the fallout of that in their relationship over time, rather than most of it happening during a time skip while Jung-gook was in prison. But everything else about this drama was absolutely satisfying. It was cathartic to see Jung-gook’s journey from con artist to assemblyman, as his eyes opened to the true closed-door dealings where politics actually happen, and he started blasting those doors open fearlessly despite having quite a lot to lose. It was moving to see him slowly come to the realization that if he was really going to start over as a new man with a commitment to the truth, he had to first pay his own dues to the past.

Currently reviewing: The Secret Life of My Secretary

One Spring Night: Don’t mind me, I’m just squeeing curled up in the corner enjoying this quiet and character-driven story so, so much. Jung Hae-in is impressing me so much with his restrained performance, and the two actors have this amazing ability to portray such a complex and shifting array of tensions in the space of one scene. Please show, stay this good through the end! Keep working with the same subtle tensions and moments. Keep giving the actors so much muchness to work with. And while you’re at it, can you kill the soundtrack?

Search Query: WWW: He smiles! He talks! He smiles and talks! Yes, my Jang Ki-yong fangirl brought me to this drama, but the premiere episode really disappointed me. The tone shifted about seven different times, I didn’t like any of the characters, and the scene where artificially backlit Im Soo-jung and Jang Ki-yong listen to his soundtrack and stare at each other was just plain embarrassing. Maybe it’s because I’m comparing it to my other current dramas which, while different, are both very consistent, adept, and know exactly what they’re doing — but Search Query: WWW felt like the opposite. In other words, kind of a mess. As much as I want to stick around for Jang Ki-yong being swoony (really, I do), it’s going to take a lot of convincing to get me to watch more of this one.

The haunted house was my favorite one from season 1 of the Great Escape. (The face!) I don't know if you (@mary) watched all of season 2 before going back to season 1, but if you didn't, you should definitely watch season 2! I think the second season is an upgrade in terms of set design and teamwork. It makes me wonder how big their budget is and how tvN can afford it all!

I’m going through all of s1 first then going to s2. After the haunted house ep, I’m already looking sadly at how few eps I have left. :( It must’ve been fun designing all those sets!

One Spring night I totally adore what they are doing here. The conversations are what I live for.

Search query WWW The opening theme is killer good. Im soo Jung got a great role! I don't know why they have romance in it (the tonal shift is too obvious and their conversations almost absurd to forgetable. I mean who tells a name as a secret unless you are a physco killer and if I know your name I can report to police or get killed by you). That said, the show has a lot of potential and I am looking out for it!

This week's award for 'awkward product placement' went to the C-drama 'Le Coup de Foudre'. Namely the TV doctor in the series repeatedly pushing that medical skin ointment. It reminded me of old American drugs ads from the good old days, the the lab-coated actor saying "I'm not a doctor but I play one on TV."

I have to say, I am STILL experiencing the emotional aftermath of - and intense love for - Nirvana in Fire. It's just one of the best, most emotionally and visually satisfying dramas I've ever seen. I could have started a re-watch the second I finished it. So, so, so good, and I still get weepy every time I think of it, listen to the OST, watch a video clip, or read a recap of this beautiful story. I'm going to give the on-line translation of the novel a try, because I'm not ready to let these characters, and their story, go yet. (I'm tearing up just writing this - can't remember when I was this deeply affected by a story)

So, unable to really move on, I watched Nirvana in Fire 2. It was an enjoyable drama. I wasn't disappointed, but would have been if I had gone into it expecting that it would be the same perfect drama, and same emotional journey, that NIF was. I still enjoyed it, and loved the lead characters. Both Pingzhang and Pingjing were highly likable, and I can't believe the actor in the role of Pingjing - Liu Haoran -was only 18 when he made this. He did an excellent job, and I think he'll have a very successful acting career.

With every spare minute of the last week and a half spent watching NIF2, I didn't have time to start anything new. I did watch the final episodes of Le Coup de Foudre, and it was meh. It just kind of fizzled out. The last episode was nothing but filler.

What next? I'm thinking of starting Listening Snow Tower, because I think Chinese wuxia dramas may be my bias. Anyone have a recommendation?

So much love for NIF from everyone - I still haven't been able to get emotionally engaged with the characters and I've tried a dozen times. Perhaps it's because I'm not that crazy about Hu Ge and Wang Kai, I just don't know.
So glad I watched NIF2 first because I absolutely loved it, especially the family relationships and Liu Haoran. That one I've watched 3 or 4 times already. I know it isn't as complicated as NIF so I've no explanation.
I also tried Listening Snow Tower but to no avail. I can't remember what turned me off.
Have you watched The Legends? It is exceptional (not as much as NIF but good in its own right).

I thought NIF was perfectly cast, and that every actor was outstanding. I haven’t been this emotionally invested in a drama since Goblin. It was PERFECT.

While I enjoyed NIF2, it was in part because of the connections to the wonderful NIF characters, which were subtle, but very definitely noted at crucial times in the story. (You’d miss the symbolism of the bracelet that Lin Chen gave to Pingjing, which later saves his life in the duel with Xiao Yuanqi. The sight of Mei Changsu/Lin ’Shu’s bracelet is the only time I “ugly cried” while watching NIF2 (although a few other scenes made me teary).

Hu Ge was perfect - and absolutely beautiful - as Mei Changsu/Lin Shu. And Wang Kai was outstanding as Prince Jingyan. I wasn’t bored for even one single second, and never became anxious for things to move along.

OTOH, I felt NIF2 really dragged in several places, and made me feel impatient and annoyed with how the plot stagnated. Also, the bad guys were without any redeeming qualities, and I never felt sympathy for them. I hated both the character and visuals of villain Puyang Ying so much that I could barely stand to watch his scenes, and was thrilled when he died, because it meant I didn’t have to see any more of his ugly self. I also got tired of how they dragged out Yuanqi‘s rebellion.

In NIF2, the bad guys drove the plot, which made it less original. In NIF, it was Mei Changsu who brilliantly manipulated events, and outplayed his opponents, always being one step ahead. I adore that type of hero. (Probably why I loved Live Me if You Dare, which I notice a lot of the NIF fans also recommend).

I did know the significance of the bracelet, and also enjoyed the references to NIF. But I had already done research and read up on everything, new who was who and how they were related to NIF. I didn't feel NIF2 dragged at all but maybe I was in the right frame of mind for it. I loved PingJing's coming of age and thought his character portrayal was spot on. Though a brilliant military strategist he was a free spirit at heart. My favorite female character of any genre in any drama ever is Lin Xi and there's a nice article about her character:
https://thediplomat.com/2018/09/meet-lin-xi-a-progressive-female-character-in-a-chinese-drama/?fbclid=IwAR1VydEa9zimP2t1JjrKF9tHrRiu-w6BlYCZvBUmed4KNSNYG6wu5A5NuQM
Guess I just haven't been in the right mood yet for NIF. I usually watch a drama based on who the male lead is and I really don't care for Hugh Ge or Wang Kai. I did like Wang Kai as 2nd lead in Love Me if You Dare, though about the 3rd time I watched that drama I saw so many flaws and annoyances I can't watch it anymore, esp how the female is portrayed.
Back to NIF2 - I don't care if the "plot" was driven by the bad guys or whether it was "original" - and btw, what's so original about a revenge plot? IMO there's nothing new under the sun. And the tale is more the Asian 4 act play where plot isn't as important as character, and NIF2 was a character study of in two parts, with complications totally changing the 2nd part. I was so surprised when Ying was killed because I just assumed he'd be the bad guy til the end. I liked how Yuanqi was portrayed as far as being so jealous of PingJing yet pretending to be his friend. I liked how the ministers were duped and then regretted it so much.
There were plenty of fans who couldn't stand Ying so much but I didn't mind him, esp since I've seen the actor in other dramas and realized he played his part well. I haven't noticed that C-dramas particularly make you sympathetic for the bad guy either. K-dramas do that bit way better most of the time with the angsty backstory of why they became evil.
I know NIF is a revenge story and I usually like revenge stories but I've seen so many of them that this was nothing new. I tried watching the first 4 or 5 episodes but was so bored I couldn't continue.
I still don't get it totally though because it has the reputation of being the best drama ever, so I wish I could like it.

I tend to choose Korean dramas for the male lead, but Chinese wuxia dramas are for the story. For example, I was disappointed to find that my fav Zheng Bin Bin wasn’t the lead in Eternal Love, and don’t find Mark Chao particularly attractive, but I loved his character in Eternal Love, and he had great chemistry with the FL. So I forgave him for stealing my lovely Bin Bin’s one and only love!😸

I personally think Hu Ge is beautiful - omo, the bone structure, the eyes, the everything!! - and he was so brilliant at playing the physically frail, terminally ill hero. That in itself was original, as he was the hero in a place, time and story where physical strength and martial arts skills were revered. I also love bromances, and the show was chock full of them. I just loved Mei Changsu so much; my favorite lines in the drama were when his former betrothed, warrior Princess Mu Ni Huong, is reminiscing about the strong, healthy boy she was engaged to 13 years earlier: “In my heart, he has always been, and always will be, the most radiant boy of Jingling City, with an unchanging pure heart that will never perish." Sob! 😿😿

Anyway, I did enjoy NIF2, but I agree with the princess. And also, having watched every minute of both dramas, I know why I personally love, and always will love, everything about NIF, and consider it the best Chinese drama, and one of the best dramas period, I have ever seen. (and here I am crying again, because that’s how much I loved the character and his story! Silly me!)

1

@vespertyne I know what you mean about something meaning so much to you that you cry just thinking about it. I have a couple of those too!
NIF I do know much of the story w/o even watching it and one thing I loved was the message in the end that nothing lasts forever. Changlin was established to honor those in NIF and two generations later was disbanded. To me that was powerful.
I also liked the fact that the ministers were wary of the Xiao's becoming too powerful. They had every right to be wary, though we as the audience knew the Xiao's were too "righteous" to want power since we saw things from their pov.
Between the two, both were stories of revenge. But in NIF the revenge was by the "righteous" (our pov) and in NIF2 the revenge was by the "evil" guys - not our pov. What if the stories had been switched and the revenge roles reversed?

@vespertyne29: I just watched bits and pieces of different episodes of Listening Snow Tower and it looked pretty good for wuxia, so I'm adding it to my list.

It's certainly visually stunning.

I'm kind of not really getting into anything, so I keep watching episodes of Ever Night, although it's not doing anything for me. I think the ML is cute, but nothing special. And I am nauseous at thinking that that plain, prepubescent-looking FL is going to be the romantic interest. UGH. (WTF are so many of these K and C dramas invested in FLs that look and act like 10 year old girls? It's CREEPY and, for me, borderline perverted. My imagination simply cannot accept that these childish, usually stupid girl/women are sexually attractive to the (usually) super handsome, super smart male leads. It's a weird, sexist message - like the men can only be attracted to someone who is substandard to them in every way. I can't imagine these shows are popular with the male viewers, but only female audiences, who perhaps like that these these super handsome actors falling for dumb, plain, and usually poor FLs). Please tell me that this childlike, unattractive actress isn't going to still be the lead when Dylan Wang takes over the main role?! I may not be able to watch.

Re Listening Snow Tower, I am going to give it a shot. I started Legend of the Phoenix, but the plot is so convoluted, and the writing so bad, that I don't think I can keep watching. As of yesterday, neither of the two episodes of HIStory had been translated, but I'm looking forward to that, and hopefully more M/M love stories, now that Taiwan has legalized same sex marriage. Kudos to them, being the first Asian country to do so. I would LOVE it if they made Haru Wo Daite into a drama!

Some people complained HIStory was bad, but I've watched the 1st two eps on Viki and can hardly wait for the next episodes. With Taiwanese HIStory dramas you can't expect great acting/editing/etc., but I still really like them. And yes, bravo for Taiwan.
You do know the lead actress in Ever Night is 25 in real life and the male lead was only 18? She was supposed to be still a child of only 12 or 13 with the first series, so I thought her role was fine for that age. The 2nd series with Dylan Wang she's supposed to be much older, so we'll see how she matures. But I'm not watching the 2nd season because I can't stand Dylan Wang.
Apparently the novel of Listening Snow Tower has a really tragic ending, which the author is known for, so everyone's anxious to see whether or not they change the ending to a happy one. Fans also complained she was a much stronger more fierce woman in the novel, but the director said for the drama and storytelling she needed more of a growth arc, so starts out not that strong and has a sweet side but really grows into a fierce warrior.

I have come to the conclusion that while we like some of the same aspects of dramas, we have vastly different taste when it comes to men!

Maybe not so great for shared taste in dramas, but we could go imaginary bar-hopping without worrying we’d want to flirt with the same guy!😸

1

@vespertyne I was just thinking the same thing earlier - we do have different tastes in men! Some of the very popular kdrama actors that fans are swooning over I see nothing at all appealing. But I don't know anyone who doesn't like Kim Nam Gil.
I usually don't like the younger actors, and in c-dramas the only younger actors I like are Liu Haoran, Xu Kai and a couple more. Most of them just look like babies to me!

Finally, I'm really enjoying Guardian. The novel it's taken from the two male leads have a gay relationship and fans complained the drama wouldn't take it there. Well, it was made in China after all. But watching it, I feel it's very gay. The two leads do all the cliches in kdramas that are usually done with a male/female relationship, like piggy back, covering the sick one with a blanket, one falling asleep in the car (or train) and the other's head falling on their shoulder, etc. And they have great chemistry...
I read somewhere that 5 days after it finished airing it was suddenly taken down and I'm wondering if the censors finally caught on.

Ohhhh, I was wondering about this, after reading about it on a few sites. It sounded like they play it as a strong bromance, which was a bit disappointing, but still sounded interesting. I’d already decided to check it out. Good to get a positive rec.

1

@vespertyne It took me 4 or 5 episodes of Guardian to really get into it and tbh, as per usual for me I ff thru some of the cases they do, but not too much.
And I knew about the novel beforehand and the complaints, plus knowing how directors can get around the censors I was looking for subtle hints so found them. There's one scene that the translation into English blatantly says it's a sign for a gay relationship. Knowing how kdramas are when you're lucky to get a hand held much less a kiss, this didn't miss the mark by much. I have to re-watch the ending (I cheated and watched it first) because I thought it fairly clear they confessed to each other.
Or maybe I just have a good imagination.

1

@vespertyne Finally just finished Guardian. Some say it was only bromance, some say it was really BL. I say it was a pure love story. The two actors were amazing with their subtlety.

1

@vespertyne I just read a wonderful review about NIF2. It first says while NIF was about one man's revenge, NIF2 is about one family's rise and fall. I remember you saying NIF2 was plot driven by the bad guys but at the time I didn't know how to say I didn't quite agree. I think the above says it well.
Here's the dad's last words to PingJing:
His last words to Pingjing had me crying a river of tears:
Father was born a slave. I have suffered more hardship than regular people ever did. I have faced the coldest treatment. But I have also experienced three luckiest things in life: One, I met a teacher who wiped away the anger in my heart. Two, I was raised by the late Emperor, and served under two wise rulers who never doubted my loyalty. Three, I had a harmonious family with two good sons.

You always loved freedom. Unfortunately for you, you were born in a military family. After I’m gone, you can let go of the Changlin title. Pingjing, go do what you want to do. Take care of your sister-in-law and your nephew, and don’t worry about anything else.

As for my funeral, remember, bury my clothes in the Royal tomb but my body in the ridge of plum trees.

This reviewer also does some other C-dramas, incl NIF, that have great insights.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that finds the skinny to fat trope not great. It’s pretty much one of the few things I don’t give much of a chance to. That being said, I did try out the first episode of Perfume. I really just wanted to see Shin Sung-Rok and Go Won-Hee lead a rom com but I dropped this one after the first episode.

Still watching Angel’s Last Mission, Secret Life of My Secretary, Abyss, Save me 2, Arthdal Chronicles and Nokdu Flower. I’m also gonna check out WWW shortly to see how it is. Hopefully good.

i'm way behind on watching most of the dramas currently...here's few that i have watched this week and will continue tracking them further:
The Secret Life of My Secretary: only for Veronica Park...i don't like the main leads story arc at all!
Search: WWW: totally hooked after watching first two episodes, can't wait to see how this story goes...part of me is always wondering if it would have the usual kdramas trope thrown in and if yes, then which route the writers would take on them..ha ha
Absolute Boyfriend: am on ep11 still, but i picked this up post a break after reading reviews and stuff, so am hopeful on this one....also, Yeo Jin Goo is such a treat to watch, his expressions are priceless, they must have had so much fun on the sets while making this show, i feel. But its so odd for me because just couple of months back (in 2019 itself) i watched Iljimae (2008) for first time, and he was literally a baby there, and then i saw bits of Moon Embracing the Sun and The Royal Gambler, so watching him turn lead in a romcom in a span of few months within my life (and not in his) , my brain needs some adjustment LOL!
Arthdal Chronicles: just finished episode 3, this show has my interest, definitely Song Joong-ki is one of the main reason for me to watch but the storyline and the power struggles and the folklore has me vested to spend time on this, i hope this does not disappoint me.

I LOVE ONE SPRING NIGHT. I've seen a lot of hate for Jeong-In for 'being so mean to poor Gi-Seok' but I don't get it. To me the portrayal of their fizzling love and inability to let go is realistic. Sometimes, even though no-one does anything wrong, relationships run their course but you hold on too long. And often someone else appears to one or both parties and shines a light on what's missing and what's left. Life is like that, they're not bad people.

I loved the bar scene and the conversation between Ji-Ho and Gi-Seok; so well acted. The dialogue was great, but the way you can see the silent power war going on between them. I can't get enough of it.

Having said that, I am rooting for Jeong-In to step up and make a bold decision, and I am also in favour of killing the soundtrack.

(Also, Jeong-In and Eun-U on the phone 😍💔 TOO. SWEET.)

TSLOMYS: Yeah even my KYK loving heart is getting a little bored and annoyed that they're dragging the lie. The first time Galhee did it I felt for her deeply, because she was genuinely disturbed by her actions. When she decided to finally end it I breathed a sigh of relief. But now whyyyyyy I don't understand why the writers decided to take this lie up a notch. It really seems that they care little about Min Ik's feelings. Tsk tsk

This weekend finally got down to watching some K-movies I recorded from my cable provider channel TVN Movies. Saw Believer, Gonjiam-Asylum and Bluebeard.

Note two of them being Jo Jin woong in starring roles. Man can act his ass off. I am in awe of his skills and talent. Hope he dips again into a high quality drama sometime soon. While Gonjiam I felt had very standard horror flick. This coming from someone who regularly follow the American horror flicks like Conjuring (that first family of horror-The Warrens and made by James Wan).

Drama wise this week returned to watching Partners of Justice 2 - i still like this drama as long they keep it procedural and pretty sure that chaebol son is alive somewhere. Sad that Stephanie Hwang and LeeYikyung didnt return.

Also,WWW I only seen ep1 and the feel it is very different and with strong women characters. But I still keeping it may be to watch.

I am only up to ep8 of Abyss. And still sticking for Park Bo young.

Varieties wise I am crazy happy Kang KItchen is back for season 2.My cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling widely throughout ep1. But somehow I feel Mino is getting lesser screentime. Is NA PD practicing some self censorship with him?Or his mike not loud or he is not making enough comments.Or maybe he is just not making enuf funny moments with whole YG issues in the background as this filmed in May 2019 only.
The Great Escape is as great as usual but I think this show makes me think my maths and deduction skills are so rusty. Glad those boys got Byungjae. Jongmin and his intermittent genius ness. Donghyun fighter scaredycat is just epic. Hvnt watch in full the episode with the Problematic guys but boy did they take a long time to come out of the cell.
