Please watch this without trying to find a deeper meaning or messages inside the story (you'll only hurt your own brain). Instead, watch this for the fun "revenge", endless one-upping the incompetent yet entitled chaebols, and Song Joong-ki being a genius hero with heart-stealing smirk. (Yes, I'm shallow. Sue me.)

In terms of ep1-15, this drama is stonkingly good. A big cast of stellar actors bringing their A-game to the table: check. Properly developed three-dimensional characters: check. Deeply interesting storyline that cleverly weaves modern Korean history with the drama's events: check. Enough dodgy moves that keep you wondering what exactly is going on but not able to suss it out: check. Couldn't recommend it more...

...but then you have to be ready for that ep16. On the more generous end of the scale, it's rushed and a bit unsatisfying; on the harsher end, it doesn't make sense and leaves you wondering what the point of the first 15 eps was. But, for all that, I would still recommend it - it kept me enthralled till the 11th hour.

This could have been a magnificent drama but I think the production team, like us audience, have too much fun in the corporate-cum-family feud that they forget to plot the ending as early as they should.

The ending if better paced and be given more time to thrash out is not bad actually. Why producing a good - which does not have to equate a happily ever after - ending is so hard?! Little Women’s ending is a good showcase of how it could be done. It is all about pacing and probability!

Nonetheless, it is still a highly watchable show just on the strengths of acting. Actors playing the Jin family and staff are all standout. Not sure if anyone has foreseen Lee Sung-min stealing the show completely and convincingly!! His portrayal here will be remembered for a long, long time.

I don't know why people are disappointed about the two guys. It's clear the man in the past was the one we met in ep1 and last episode. They are not two different men.
Present person went back in time.

Aside from an underdeverloped ending, this show has everything:
-Perfectly-crafted cliffhangers
-Delicious revenge against people you love to root against
-Smart manuvering by an inexplicably prophetic hero
-[An unnecessary and unsatisfactory loveline]
-Superb use of Lee Sung-min (seriously, he always pulls out performances like this and you think he can't get any better and then he just does)
-Kim Kang-hoon swooping in and deftly taking over for Song Joong-ki
-Plus a sprawling cast of solid performers who gave their all to this show

Overall, I highly recommend this show.

Kim Kang-hoon really did pull off a resemblance to Song Joong-k

I liked the drama a lot and enjoyed it so much, but mainly because I made up a drama in my head which involved a man in a coma having a dream and actually not knowing if what he dreamt was true or not. My guess: it wasn't.

I enjoyed it. It seems some people were surprised at the ending. I think the thing to remember is that the show says multiple times that the big events can't be changed; they are not misleading you. Also, the main character forgets details about his new life, then later remembers them; pay attention to these regained memories, for the foreshadow the ending.

I think a show where the ending did change the past (or where people were ignorance of certain details) might have been more satisfying; but maybe not, and I didn't mind then ending. It was a very enjoyable watch.

Watch the first two episodes, then decide if you want to keep watching.

I personally found the show a highly enjoyable ride from Episodes 2 to 15. Episode 1 was a necessary "set-up" episode, while Episode 16 felt rushed. In the grand scheme of things, though, it makes perfect sense that they would want to "book-end" the show with Episodes 1 and 16 the way they did. (Yes, I realize that's a bit vague, but it's better to keep things spoiler-free).

Overall, I have no regrets about watching this. I will say that I would have preferred a final episode that did not require as much suspension of disbelief.

Reborn Rich is another kdrama that managed to surprise me by its daring moral ambiguity. After the stunningly unhinged Born Again (2020) I thought I'd seen everything, but this drama gloriously achieved the opposite of what it seemingly wished to do: it lionized ruthless enterprise (the amazing Grandpa) while making the protagonist a smiling and successful villain in BOTH his lifetimes
