I have officially withdrawn my participation as a volunteer for Tokyo Olympics today and though I feel bad about it, safety is my priority. I’m rooting that they pull off a safe and successful event.

I’m sorry that you had to do this, but yeah, you need to prioritize yourself and stay safe.

Firstly, it’s so cool that you were a volunteer at a historic event, I didn’t even know they had volunteers. Secondly, withdrawing was the most prudent thing because your wealth really does come first.

I’m sorry it came to that, but you are absolutely right to prioritize your health and safety. I’m glad you are putting yourself first – uri Purple is precious! 💖💖

Beanies, what do you think about volunteering at vaccine centres? I’m also torn btw helping my country and the health risk. Based on current projection my turn for the vaccine is still a few months away. Plus point is my parents are vaccinated (i live with em. Asian ‘kid’ here 😬)

My friend got vaccinated with Sinovac and still got the virus 3 days after. It depends on how risky it is. I would’ve continued volunteering if I just did remote work but I work closely with kids and I didn’t want to take the risk.
