There is a river in Spain called Guadiana. River Guadiana is a bit special because after it springs in a place called Laguna de Ruidera, it disappears (because it goes underground) and it springs again in a place called Los Ojos del Guadiana (The Eyes of the Guadiana). Is this a Geography lesson, beanies? No, but just me explaining that there is a common saying in Spain that I use a lot, when something is missing for a while but then it pops out (being a person, an item, whatever), we say: “it appears and disappears like the Guadiana”.
During this 2023 that is about to end, I was much like River Guadiana, appearing and disappearing for weeks in DB. Many things have happened, most of them good, but I was busy, and I’m VERY lazy, so most of the times I just lurked and never participated.
Even so DB and Beanies are the riverbed I love to come back always.
So Happy 2024 to all Beanies all over the world. May the new year be filled with joy, love, happiness, calmness, chatting and lots of health. Please take care, put yourselves in the center and make yourselves the most important person in your life, because nobody else has the power to make you happy.
I love being a Beanie. Thank you all for this wonderful community.
Well, part of them are not mine but George’s Michael. The song “Heal the pain” has this wonderful sentence; be good to yourself cause nobody else has the power to make you happy.
I love that saying about found things. Yes you got to travel to see your special person several times in 2023 so let’s hope that busyness can also be joyful in 2024 too.
Looking forward to your comments as and when you can.
Happy New Year Eazal! Learnt something new today with this new phrase you’ve taught us – glad to see you active on the site & looking forward to reading your commentary this year (but also equally it’s of course okay to disappear a bit and lurk like the Guadiana too when you feel like it!) ✨
