Beanie level: Noble idiot

How to be Thirty is cute so far! Though if I was on a date with Seung Woo and he was teasing me like that, I would drop him like a hot potato! Getting sleezeball vibes. But I don’t hate him, somehow.

Hey!! Where are you watching it? I’m not sure if any platform airs webdramas with subs.

It’s on Viki (in my region at least)

      I’m watching it on iqiyi!

It’s not on iqiyi in my region but I found it on Viki. It’s really good. I like that there’s that mystery with Seung Yu, and Song Jae Rim hasn’t done anything significant yet even if he is the main character so I’m thinking they’ll go somewhere with that.
It’s also good how all 3 of them have different storylines but 24 year old people don’t act this way lol.

And I loved the scenes at the beginning.. Setting the vineyard on fire is so dramatic I love it.

I love it that they made Song Joong Ki curse in Italian. It’s hilarious. And the Italian-based actors they got are not stiff thank god.

Loved loved loved Mr Queen. I wonder if Cheoljo will miss the part of So Yong that was Bong Hwan. But anyways a bit of him has rubbed off So Yong so perhaps he won’t miss it too much.

That’s my justification for a happily ever after!!

Our king had a live broadcasting today and answered this question. 😀
“Did cheoljong know thag bonghwan soul has left soyong’s body?”
I think it doesn’t matter whose soul is in the body, what matters is how cheoljong chose how to see soyong from his perspective and fell in love with her that way.

I’ve been hunting for spoilers for every episode of Mr Queen, but somehow for this finale, I don’t want to!! It’s gonna be hard.. Will try!

I like how the show also showed us how Hwa Jin turned into a jealous monster. What she did was wrong. I only hope for a redemption arc so we don’t have the typical jealous consort in the Palace.

Now if So Bong gets kicked out of the palace, I want her, the Prince, Inspector Hong and the King to be a merry band of bandits who rid the palace of evil!

Oh and Court Lady Choi, Hong Yeon, and Royal Chef too!!! squee! I saw shot of them in “commoners clothes” so maybe they do spend some time outside the palace?

I would love for our Mr Queen to cook more!! Can’t wait to see if she and the King will fall for each other and how.

I guess I am the only one that does not want to see them have a legitimate marriage.

He has a mistress that he loves, can have others and oh, tried to kill her.

Kim Sejeong is really amazing in her role as Do Hana. She’s really emoting with her whole body and those killer eyes. Excellent performance! She is really going all out and having fun with the role.

Also, thank you to Kim Seon Ho for making Ji Pyeong such a lovable character. Ji Pyeong could have easily been a stoic, robotic, angsty typical 2nd male lead, but adding a touch of humour was genius.

I see what it means to make a character your own. Also, Kim Seon Ho does comedy so well.

I love how In Jae’s story progressed too. Seo family women ❤️ shoutout to Kang Hanna. I loved her deadpan denial of crying even though she had mascara everywhere.

I think Start Up does a good job of showing the struggles and optimism of young people.. And how they rise above their challenges. Definitely one of my fav shows of the year.

7

I was always sceptical that it can get very optimistic and dreamy but maybe it feels like Startup portrayed it realistically?

    1
    1

Yes it appears more realistic! Perhaps because the team faced challenges as well as triumphs. And they always had such a never-say-die attitude to dealing with their challenges.

Also, I’m impressed with Nam Joo Hyuk’s performance. He made Do San’s nerdy character very endearing.

What a perfect way for Ji Pyeong to move forward with his life. Instead of feeling like he has to repay halmoni with money, he’s going to pay it forward for a cause that’s close to his heart.

9
4

He won’t be lonely anymore. Once he starts helping someone it will give him purpose beyond material success. Wat a great idea, halmoni. ❤️❤️ Just so perfect.

    2
    1

Yes. And I especially loved that the show didn’t try to pair him up with In-jae; if that was the case it would be too cliche and it would ruin the drama watching for me.

      2
      2

lol.. i thought they did try to give us that pairing with their little chit chat on how SDM was managing journalist..

        Injae is perfect for JP..
DS i think was just attraction/crush because she introduce laughter (in our prickly ceo life) and family dynamics

        **********
I also like that IJ is all white (angel) in last scene where as JP is a mix (greyish 😛 ).. and two leads are all black

True! He can find meaning in his life in other ways! ❤️ But of course if he finds someone else dear to him that would be lovely too.

I really enjoyed Kim Bum’s performance. He was absolutely brilliant. When he was evil, he was deliciously evil, when he was sad, I felt sad along with him, and when he was happy I felt joy too.

Although I must say, Rang’s sacrifice at that point of the story didn’t feel very satisfying somehow. I’m not sure how to explain it. The whole plan didn’t seem very clever.

But I feel comforted knowing that his legacy lives on and he will always be loved by his family.

Haven’t gotten sad over a character’s death in a while. We all knew Rang was gonna sacrifice himself and call Hyung one last time.. But it still hurt.

    It hurts so much.

While I wasn’t really attached to this drama, it was sad to watch that sacrifice. Yes, I guess we all knew it was coming.

Man.. I wish the show showed more of In Jae’s story. I hope Kang Hanna still had a ball of a time being a part of the show though. Would love to see more of her comedic chops!

I agree, to think that there was so much there to unpack. Too bad her character got way less screen time than the three other leads, considering that KHN shines in the moments that she is given, such as when she confronted her stepdad and stepbrother and her touching scene with halmeoni. I also LOLed at her reaction when she was being given the Frozen/Elsa pitch for their promo video, but still ended up doing it anyway. You just know that she did it for her dongsaeng.

    3
    1

Exactly! She was rolling her eyes but she did it anyway because her little sister asked her to. <3 I also loved the scene where she actually touched the wood and spat 3 times in case she jinxed the application of the self-driving car permit. That was hilarious. She's smart and strong when she needs to be, like when dealing with her step-family and during her earlier demo day presentation! That was amazing.

My favourite scene today besides the whole team Samsan fighting the ransomware together, is the scene where Ji Pyeong creeps the guy hitting on Dal Mi out by putting his palms on the other guy’s. HAHA

8
5

i honestly thought those two developers planted ransomware..

lol.. they are the most under-developed side characters

( 1st were introduced as someone who ditches team and leaves after winning.. but here they are with injae since almost 4 yrs)

    2
    1

It definitely looks like they did it and they were seen by dal mi with someone from Morning group who I think it’s IJ’s step brother.

Every employee in In Jae company including In Jae herself are just some side characters the writer couldn’t be bothered with🙄☹️😠

      2
      1

i don’t think they are.. that meeting seems to be about them leaving injae for better opportunity and giving a way for the old team to unite under a more competent CEO 😛

this writer hasn’t made anyone out right evil or selfish (i mean look at mom’s 180 character redefinition)

This drama is success ONLY because of the cast – small and big and their service to their respective characters

        2
        1

If only the writers know that. Every character big or small should be developed, not equally but at least to a bit because no drama will be fully possible without them. Their solely existence shouldn’t be for someone else to shine.

I really want to see more of In Jae so now that the team is uniting under her, we can now hopefully get that.

I loved that scene so much. Reminded me why I loved this show initially
