So i decided to trace back the last time I leveled up and my oh my it was November 14 2017!! I didn’t gain any new level in 2018!! 2018 was my drama slump time I guess. FINALLY YEAAAY I LEVELED UP!

Just finished watching recent eps of Knowing Brothers and this is my first time discovering this couple. They are both so sweet and I love the fact that the husband cries easily. Are they in Return of Superman? I might start watching it if they are there.

Netizens are saying that Confession has Forest of Secrets kinda vibe. Which is the more reason why I have to watch this. But I still can’t find the subbed version anywhere!

I’ve only found raw episodes so far.

That is what I thought too (it is tightly written). But they don’t have interesting leads like Forest of Secrets, and crime is so overdone, so I wasn’t excited when I watched. Glad it has good ratings tho.

Is Confession getting subbed?? Can\’t seem to find the sub anywhere. Urgh it\’s the only one I\’m most excited about!

To everyone involved in South Korea’s recent controversies

Whatever is happening in South Korea right now is some drama content worthy

Whatever is happening is reminding me of a lot of dramas that I’ve watched. So..dramas can be a reflection of reality? 😱

Actually there is a strong argument to be made that TV/movies are aspirational. It’s not the current reality necessarily, but living the dream life. In India in the 60s, labour issues were a big thing, and of movies were made about the labour force coming together to take down the evil corporation.

The taking down of government corruption / police corruption, “poor” people wearing luxury brands, marrying into chaebol families, those “perfect” boyfriends – imo this is the aspiration/wish of the audience watching the drama.

Agreed. There were also lots of films about low caste people successfully taking down feudal landlords in the 1960s and 1970s in Indian cinema.

Lots of recent Indian movies have dealt with sexual violence and about what women successfully securing justice against their abusers. That is likely because there is growing awareness that the terror inflicted upon South Asian women through sexual assault, sexual harassment, etc. are intolerable. Not surprisingly, there lots of news stories about gang rapes in India. (Although the stories from Pakistan, the country my parents are from, are far scarier; acid attacks, honour killings, forced marriages, etc. Pakistan doesn’t have a functional media ecosystem, though, so there are very few movies about this.)

I remember throughout the 2000s, there were lots of Indian movies about warfare between police and gangs. This, too, is probably a reflection of reality. The reason Mumbai is so much more peaceful today is because the police “encountered” criminals affiliated with gangs throughout the 2000s.

I think I probably need to reflect about South Korean media consumption.

Always reminds me of the drama Signal. It still sickens me to this day how its climax centred on a gang rape case which very much reflected what happened in SK on the gang rape of school girls in one of its countrysides – it became a national news (perhaps international too im not sure), but to this day the assailants only got a slap on on the wrists, the identified victims got the short end of the stick, ended up taking the fall, the public/police/etc argued it was their fault for seducing those boys to perform the act.

Signal ended that part of their story on a high note, bad guys were either thrown in the jail, or killed in the fight, justice prevailed. But reality remains very rotten.

I’m only hoping that nothing gets swept under the rug this time, that nobody gets aways with a slap on the wrist and that life moves on…. I can hope hope.

And on the other hand, there are heartbreaking movies like Do bigha zamin, Pather Panchali etc that do reflect what actually goes on between the powerless & powerful. (this is very far from the topic of discussion but somehow I was reminded of it)

IT’S OFFICIAL I WANT THEM TO BE A MARRIED COUPLE IN REAL LIFE. How cute is it that Kim Byung Chul sang happy birthday for Yoon Se A because she jokingly asked for it??

Can the CF simply be a re-enactment of SKY Castle scene in which Seung Hye refusing to cook for Prof Cha and just give him ramyun?? It would be hilarious if Prof Cha throws a tantrum but after having a taste of ramyun he simply change his mind and start eating ramyun every single day

We still have 5 eps left and yet the culprit is already apprehended, which means there\’s a high chance that IT AIN\’T HIM!! He\’s sure thing not as pure as we thought he is but not enough to kill someone. It\’s either someone from Yeh Suh\’s family then, if it\’s not one of them well then my mind blows!

Soo Im\’s family seems to be the most normal out of everyone in Sky Castle? Or doom is on its way to reach her family???

I think jinjin’s family is the most normal. And they are happy, even when they fight, they reconcile and they dont really go nosing into other peoples stories hehehe

link from another comment I made
Doom is coming to Hwang family :/
Every family will have an incident by the end of the drama : YoungJae, SooHan running away, Seri fraud, Hyena incident for the Kang, guess the Hwang incident will came from WooJoo mask falling down. The OST lyrics : “Play with a mask to hide the truth” : SeoJin, the Cha, next is WooJoo 🙁

I thought the one who\’s gonna left behind and comfort Mommy Cha is Suh Joon, but nope it\’s Ki Joon. Suh Joon confront his noona and he snapped! Don\’t mess around with quiet people I guess, both Suh Joon and his mom really exploded! And I\’m too shocked to continue watching, so I paused.

I feel for Suh Joon 🙁 , he was the only one paying attention to his mom when they were in Seri messy room.

Woah Hye Na really makes my blood boil this time. If she\’s out to get revenge to Ye Suh\’s family, I\’d understand that. But spilling the beans about Se Ri to others?? Why would you do that? As far as I remember Cha\’s family never messed with you. Even the twins treat you nice at school! Twisted!

Hye Na is a hyena! She tattle taled about Seri, no one asked her, she just did it nochalantly. She’s manipulative. I kinda liked her before, but recently she just seems evil.

    5
    2

First, I loved that you called her a hyena. HA !!!!

Second, she has been so brazen as if she holds the cards in this community but she just continues to show just how stupid she is and really not paying attention. Kang’s reaction to the news should give her a good indication of how things are going to go down when he finds out about her. He will not be embarrassed and he will expect his wife and mother to take care of getting rid of her. She really needs to learn not to cross the Yeh’s mom,

I try to convince myself that she is just a grieving teenager lashing out at rich entitled people, but if writers continue with this storyline I’ll stop rooting for her, she used to be such an interesting character.

I`m trying so hard not to hate her. I`m trying to rationalize my brain that she didn’t deserve the hate for calling out on Seo Jin and Yeh Suh and for wanting to have a happy family of her own. But ratting out someone’s family issue is just beyond low. I understand she wants Seo Jin to squirm in fear of her, but Cha family has got nothing to do with her. It’s official, I hate this b.tch.

Woo Joo – such a class act man. Did not tell anybody what he’s heard cuz really it’s not his freaking business, and he`s acting going to see the twins to cheer them up.

Woo Joo sweetheart please save your crush for someone else other than Hye Na

Mama Fairy and The Woodcutter finally ends! From the start till the end, I\’ve always been on Team Prof Jung Yi Hyun to be with Fairy at least in this life. I know from the beginning how the webtoon ends, but still I didn\’t switch side to Team Kim Geum. Well I guess I\’m bound to sink in the wrong ship right from the start. Yi Hyun\’s characterization appeals me so much it makes things hard to switch ship. The writing and directing might be a mess, and the CGI was absolutely the worst, still I enjoy it once I lowered my expectations.

I am on Team Kim Geum but my heart still aches for Prof. Jung not having happy ending with the fairy. But what makes me frustrated is how they just unveil everything in Ep. 15 and HOW they only do nothing until Bong-dae come to rescue
