…there was a genius salted-caramel-flavoured chaebol who decided to get frozen for 24 hours. It took him 20 years but now he’s finally thawed.
His happiness was short-lived, however, when he realised how much things had changed and also that he must remain permanently hypothermic to live. If he gets too hot, he will be a pile of Wookie goo and he and Sicarius could be piles of sad goo together forever.
There is also a female version of him but she is mostly just pink.
No, really, she’s literally dressed as Candy
Unfortunately, we have no time to sit around listening to Akmu’s Melted and puzzling at how weirdly approporiate the song is while not even being on the OST. “Yes, my children, why are they so cold?”
Nor do we have time to ponder the improbability of… everything. Because our brains will hurt. Really, the whole thing around the experiment and them being frozen for 20 years and the network covering it up continues to make very little sense. So either there’s a larger story here waiting to be revealed or we must submit to the Power of Handwavium and not think about it too much.
Having said all of that, these two episodes were signficantly better than the first two. We took some time to linger on the emotional fallout of two people disappearing and reappaearing twenty years later and the show found some genuine humour in Dong-chan’s confusion on how to address friends and family now they’re older than him. His confused ‘yo’ and faltering transitions between Jondaemal and Banmal were well done.
Both our leads attempt to slide back into their lives as though nothing has changed; something that will obviously fail.
But of course the writer’s sense of humour continues to be like this
Not only are scenes like this not funny, they don’t mean anything. And if I never saw tertiary characters screeching at each other for the next 12 episodes that would be a good thing.
These two episodes may not have made me want to hang myself with my knitting but I can’t say I’d still be watching this if you weren’t making me.
Thank you for your brave and hard work. It’s a selfless sacrifice that will earn you nothing but your suffering. May there be a shirtless Wookie scene for you along the way.
Thaw me need to be buried in ice, frozen & shattered like glass. I’m standing by my initial assessment.
This thing is so bad I can’t even muster up snark.
From the shallow cesspools of nothingness, I nominate it to go back to the drawing board. How did this even see the light of the day? Its been 4 episodes & they’ve only done half baked establishment of ppl
We got a silver hairdryer commercial… Was it necessary? This whole drama is unnecessary.
I don’t have time for this. I should be watching the good stuff instead.
I need a pat on the back & some strong tranquillisers for going through this.
SAVE ME
Don’t hold back, tell me what you really think…
Yes, it was bad. The fact it was better than the first two episodes is mostly a commentary on how bad those episodes were. The fact is – there is no point to this show. And nothing changes that.
@maybemaknae, your sacrifice is too much. Save yourself soldier. Save yourself!
Now, normally I wouldn’t agree to leaving @leetennant on the battlefield all by her lonesome, but she has chosen to sacrifice herself, and well, let’s just let her be singularly insane noble.
I’m not sure why I pressed play on episode 3, but while I agree it was better than the previous episodes, I gave up about 20 minutes in. I think a 30 but 17 rewatch is in order.
You are right egads, so right. Save for the shortened mess towards the end, a 30 but 17 watch is sounding so much better. 👌🏼
Thankfully I have other completed dramas to watch. Rn I’m watching It’s Okay thats love, next on agenda is King2hearts…. Also Melo me. I have to catch up on fish cult too…… We’ll see if I’m in a masochistic enough mood next to speed watch Thaw me, else goodbye adios LT. 😅
Thank you @suriyana-shah and @coffeprince4eva for all your liquid fortification. I shall make good use of them next week… and the next… until the show finally kills me.

It’s the same stupid humour from SWDB, it even has 2 of the same actors, just be glad there is no toilet humour and offensive gay jokes. Yet.
