IKR! The number of beanies ready to actually follow the instagram account after Lookout was phenomenal! Would’ve been great marketing stuff.. hope While ur sleeping or one of the upcoming ones pick up the idea!

It is a great way of promoting! J-drama has done it successfully. Well even though I’ve only seen one so far I think this idea is not relatively new, is it?

      1
      1

True.. and fairly obvious marketing strategy in fact esp when ur selling the character to be a selfie obsessed narcissist with the plus of them being super popular actors anyway!

        1

          yeah..who wouldn’t want doses of Kim Young-kwang and Lee Jong-suk’s bizarre selfies😍

I think, and I may be wrong here- but Do Han’s IG account was made- it had only like 2 photos though! It really would have been better if they updated it!

    1
    1

That was a fake account.. don’t think it was done by the show runners cuz weren’t pics screenshots from the show? I may be wrong though..

      1
      1

Oh was it? I didn’t know! I think some beanies had posted the account details and I thought it must have been real..
Would have been really great if it were real though- good marketing strategy!

Do I see it right? Nam Da-reum is back on screen as Lee Jong-suk’s younger self?!

I don’t know if he is a young LJS but he definitely has a cameo in this drama. I saw his photo/clips if I’m not mistaken on his IG.

Oh yes he is!!! moreover he’s blonde😍 I’ve just watched the first epi on cable One so couldn’t take screenshot.

LOL yes, I saw his picture with blonde hair😆

I kind of now want to see LJS with blonde hair! Also he did really well as a younger LJS. I thought his outburst and certain mannerisms was very like LJS. So good job kid.

You must see his turn as the young Crown Prince Wang Won in The King Loves. He matched Im Si-wan perfectly.

Ahah this was from episode 2 actually. I myself didn’t recall this but went back to see this lovely Park Hwan-hee because she’s darn sweet in The King Loves as Hong Jong-hyun’s lil sis😊

          1

LOL. I did put an effort in erasing any memory of UF in my mind. That drama was too sad 😂

        I don’t like vampires though. That’s why I feel so conflicted. 😛

Umm, Lee Soo-hyuk though.. C’mon, Oppa was super adorable in this show. Super duper adorable. He put those big brown eyes to good use.

          1
          2

Well, isn’t he always adorable? 😛
But I am more into Hong Jong Hyun and Kim Woo Bin. I will watch it one day. Maybe. 😛

            0

Well thank you! More Lee Soo-hyuk for me. Lord knows I don’t need the competition. 😛

Don’t worry they’re not the flamboyan blood sucking vampire angst kind of thing. It’s just a background to make sense all the cheesiness.😂

I might persuade myself one day. 😀

I’m distracted by the the “when offering shoes the person would run away”
Are they Louboutins? Then nobody would mind if I ran away in them, right? But if I get a lover and Louboutins then that’s even better…

    2
    2

I knew this saying early in my k-drama career and ever since I’ve always dreaded the inevitable gifting of shoes soon followed by a separation (often caused by noble idiocy)

      1
      3

You know I read this picture without even thinking of the Kdrama trope within it… my imagination was taking me to some great comedic places.
Although really if a potential suitor bought me any kind of shoes that’s a tick in my book… srsly… shoes are expensive

        1
        2

Honestly, I would hate to get shoes from a suitor. I’m just way to picky. If I actually liked the guy, I would feel burdened having to act as if I liked the shoes. If I didn’t like the guy, I would feel guilty telling him what I really think of them. lol

          1
          1

          ^^haha that’ll work.

I don’t remember seeing this trope. What dramas?

        0
        4

Omo now I have to remember exactly which dramas?? lol
Shut Up Flower Boy Band for sure and I think Flower Boy Next Door, then I want to say the older dramas like Goong, My Girl, or Shining Inheritance?? But, I can’t remember anymore 🙁

          1
          1

Ahah it just so happens that I haven’t watched any of them *please don’t sue me*

I’ve been tempted to watch Goong for months but no luck. Should get into it real soon. And Shut Up Flower Boy Band is that really good? I’ve read many praises here and there in DB but..did Sung-joon sing so well?

            0
            0

Haha that’s okay. I could totally be wrong about all of them, but I swear I’ve seen that trope.

Shut Up Flower Boy Band is really really good. I just finished re-watching it and it was still so good. The cinematography can feel a little dated, but it is supposed to have this documentary, rough look to it. And yes, Sung-joon’s voice really fits the songs. The OST is amazing.

Goong…I loved it when I watched it, but I don’t think I would ever bother to re-watch it. I don’t know. I just feel like it would feel dated, but if you never have seen it then it is a good classic to watch.

          2
          1

Thanks a lot. Looks like I’ll have a date with Sung-joon cs tonight since I don’t watch any current airing but The King Loves which ended last week.

I second Shut Up being fantastic. Don’t let the 2nd episode put you off though!

          1

I was reading the comments on viki and people who didn’t know the basis of the show were reeeally mad at that. lol

            1
            0

Glad you like it so far! We were trying not to spoil it too much but kind of hard to when it happens right at the beginning.

Him and his eyeliner. Though honestly, I was so used to seeing Lee Min-ki with it that he looks so weird without it in the promos for his new drama. lol

          0
          0

Yeah… I was lucky I knew why that happened before watching, cos I know lots of people who stopped watching because of it (which is a crying shame imo… like the rest of the show is so good!)

        0
        2

I think I knew he was only an extended cameo but I didnt know why so I was a little shocked. I agree the rest is so, so good that I can’t believe people dropped it just because of that.

          1
          1

I remember reading the wiki page and being like ‘oh… ok?’
so… I think I might’ve even been waiting for it to happen? *can’t quite remember though*
Ugh but yeah… wish they’d stayed with it. :/ The comments I read about people dropping it, they kind of had an entitled air, like oh it can’t possibly be any good now, they ruined the story and *complain complain complain* le sigh

            1
            0

Exactly. There were some comments in later episodes still complaining that they miss him. I’m just like um, that’s the point? You’re supposed to miss him just like the boys are…lol

          1
          2

That was my intention actually not his hair😁 They’re talking about shoes and Jong-hyun says he doesn’t believe in that saying so it’s okay for him to present shoes.
