I've heard they're working on another album, so I'm sure they'll be touring again soon! Maybe it was an off night for them, but when I saw them they didn't sound all that great. Also, the lead singer was drunk/high. Ha.

I download the raw from am-addiction forums. For the subs, somebody posted the links on vikkii skks spoiler forum. No ep 11 softsubs yet. The fabulous people at soompi are still working on them. I would have posted some links here but it's sort of difficult to do right now, i'm browsing dramabeans on my phone and not on a pc

go to the soompi sungkyunkwan scandal thread here: http://www.soompi.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=339160&st=0. you can download the raws and the subs are posted there. So far, they have subs for ep 1-10 and 12, they're still finishing up ep 11, but it's almost done.
Goe;ss also released new subs so you can download from them. Hope that helps. It's really hard to find streaming videos because of the license, but atleast, if you download, you can watch it over again anytime you want.

Oh no, I just realized that the subs on Dramafever are done by fansubbers! I hate people who snark on quality of subs by fansubbers. I honestly thought that the subs were by KBS--and felt comfortable bashing them. To the fansubbers subbing episodes on Dramafever: thank you for all that you do, and I am grateful. I really am!

You can watch subbed up to ep 10 at http://www.kbsworldi.com/default_eng.aspx
It costs about 80 cents per episode, less if you buy more credits at once.

That really is amazing. I think the commercial is so effective because it uses so many motifs and archtypes that we are already familiar with - that means that means that, in a sense, we already recognize the characters and plot.

That is a really good (catchy) song...
SKKS - I am so this show's b*tch heh...I just need to find the subbed eps now from Ep 9 onwards heh...
Started watching "Atsy Hime", a Japanese taiga drama (their equivalent of a sageuk) and it is really good. Interestingly, I think it flows much quicker. Plus it has one of my top favourite characters in any drama heh.

That Jang Guen Seuk guy signed up for it, but I guess the money never came through for the Kimi Wa Petto thing... Lee Min Ho and Kim Bum are both a little too manly to take on that role, don't you think? I don't know, male ballerinas or modern dance guys... they kind of have to be effeminate, to some sort of degree in my book.

Hmmmm, somewhat somewhat I can't really enjoy the Fugitive : Plan B. I love Rain but don't think he act well, a bit over to my opinion.
The only reason I am still following the drama is because of LJJ..., I think I am caught with the 2nd lead man syndrome. Personally, I think he steal the show....but again that is my own opinion.
Hope Athena meet my expectation esp when CSW is there !!!.

I AM UTTERLY IN LOVE WITH SUNGKYUNKWAN SCANDAL (and addicted to Bad Milk's Blog, she translates part of the novel.. I'm such a sucker for Spoilers!)
I HAVE YET TO WATCH JEOSON XFILES, WHICH JB HAS NAMED THE BEST DRAMA THIS YEAR, WHICH MEANS, YOU MUST SEE IT!!! =)

And the rest of the dramas playing right now, I don't really care.. But you can persuade me, if you want.. I have nothing to replace MGIAG for now..

Based from your comment, i can say that we have the same drama interest so i can proudly recommend dr. champ...it's so PRETTY, the characters are relatable, the interactions are cute, the soundtrack is awesome, it is well acted (kim so yeon and uhm tae woong is love), and is generally light but has some serious undertone on it...

Ok, I will give it a try.. I'm looking at comments/previews on it now.. Maybe I'll give it a shot after work tonight.. thanks.
To be honest, Just seeing actors in a historical drama dressed in those old attires, I'm automatically turned down, which is a true story. I wasn't planning on watching SKKS, But, I posted a comment one time here on DB asking why I should watch that drama, and someone said for the "hot guys".. LOL.. but then I they also said Female lead cross dressing, romantic story, funny and dramatic, so I said why not give it a try.. and I hope that person who made me give it a try reads this cause I want to thank that person SO MUCH.. I am now addicted to that drama so much..

Hi everyone!!! I am seriously so in love with SKK right now. Admittedly, I feel like this about most of my favorite dramas, but I really feel like this is the best drama of the year. The perfect blend of HAWT, cute, camaraderie, bromance, juuust the right amount and type of politicky stuffs to keep me interested and of course lurrvee~

Also, what up with Giant?! Ok, I promised myself I wouldn't go on a 5 page rant about that show. but seriously?! Drama muchly people! I just started this weekend and now on episode 6(@supah who asked). It is killing me not to go forward. Killing me! I don't know if I can hold out to one episode a day.
Usually I get into heavy drama moods once a year and try to avoid them the rest of the time. Since I use this sort of thing as an escape, I don't need depressing turmoil ruining my fun, but Giant is as it's name indicates is larger than most and filled with more of everything.
can't take it...must see more...so long sleep. We were briefly reacquainted but now I shall not see you again for several days.

Thank goodness this is Friday and things are looking better. I've been having a pretty jinx-y week. If it wasn't so frustrating and sad, it would have made a great farcical storyline in a sitcom. Good thing the round of bad luck went away yesterday. Just in time to be bombarded with a rash of assignments due next week. But I plan to get started once I get home tonight, so maybe I can knock some of the stuff out of the way.
Been watching American TV shows mostly. Fringe is my top show of the week this season. Does anyone here watch it? Bloodpumping but yet heartbreaking. Glee has finally kicked it up a notch with this week's episode. As for Kdramas, it's all about SKKS. I'm a bit scared now because I was disappointed with episode 12 (will wait for the recap to comment in detail). Basically, I tune into SKKS for the school life, friendship, and social commentary aspect of the drama. I know people are squeeing over the romance but I found the romance subplot to be a bit soulsucking. However, it looks like 13 will center it back on the stuff I like, so I do have hope.

Work has been so crazy busy and stressful that this week, I started to feel guilty just looking at non-work-related stuff. Fell asleep dreaming about work, which resulted in painfully swollen eyes the next day, because obviously the sleep wasn't restful.
So decided I had to force myself to take a break (or break down) and watched Playful Kiss. I AM HAPPY!
It's insane how happy these dramas make me. Have a little time tomorrow so am going to catch up on SKKS and Dr. Champ...and then it's back to work. Sigh. Someone give me 48 hours in a day, please.

(okay, the connection just fucked up my wonderful comment, so now I'm a little pissed, so just bear with my small-sih wrath okay...)
Happy OT day peeps!!!
Currently listening (truthfully, watching the stage version) "Abracadabra", the most damn addicting thing to ever happen in my K-Pop addiction...
I'm having a stiff neck ryt now (bilaterally, at my sternocleidomastoids), tho not THAT worse, due to shamelessly dancing (tho imitating would be the proper term) to miss A's "Bad Girl Good Girl", in seemingly kkap way that would have had Jo Kwon & Min desperately rushing to teach me the "proper way" it's done, in their worlds... <- blabbing...
Currently:
-anticipating 2PM's new stuff & Jay Park's single "Demon" (the latter having me mesmerized thru his dance, that daebak nom...)
-flailing over the fanservice/slash/fluff heaven that is the MinKhun/KhunHo pairing, w/c had left me gaping ever since Idol Army season 3...
Now, on to dramas!
-will anyone recap "Daemul"?
-currently enjoying S(eonggyungwan)S(candal) & PK
(sidenote: Ki-tae (keu-nom of ep.11 subtly reminds me (somewhat) of Dong-joon (ep.8) of YAB & Hyeon-woo (played by Lee Sang-yoon) of "I Love You Don't Cry", tho not in character but in appearance...can anyone tell me the actor's name, he's so yummy...)
-missing G(umiho)G(irlfriend), tho not as much as when YAB ended...
-anticipating Mary Broke Curfew & (on a lesser note) Flames of Ambition (hence christened as FoA)

I don't think I've participated in the open thread in months. I can't remember the last time I posted something...oh well.
Can I just say that other than Life Is Beautiful no drama has really gotten my attention lately. SKKS just didn't draw me in, nor did any other drama except for maybe I Am Legend. I am looking forward to Athena though; I love dramas like that.
At the moment, American tv has my attention. My returning fall shows (Criminal Minds, NCIS:LA); the new shows I've added to my lineup (Nikita, Hawaii Five-O) and then shows that have been airing, but I never watched aka Sons of Anarchy. I have to finish the two previous seasons of Sons of Anarchy. I legit watched S01E01 and then skipped too S03E1 and S03E2 because one was on hulu and I just wanted to watch ep 2. I'll be watching the rest of Season 3 (or at least what has aired so far) today.
Tomorrow I'm going to see Wicked and I'm staying over at a friend's house for the night so I won't have access to my laptop. I'm sad about that...but I'm wicked excited to see Wicked.

I love Bones! Though I'm a bit lukewarm about this season because of the Booth and Hannah relationship. Hannah is one cool chick. I would definitely want to hang out with her, but Booth is Brennan's man!!! *cries*

Agreed. This season is a bit awkward; not what it should be. And Booth is definitely Brennan's.
Though, I disagree about Hannah. I hate her. She just rubs me the wrong way (and I don't mean because she's dating/sleeping with Booth).

I'm not a fan of this season of Bones. Last night's episode was awful. They made Bones look like an idiot with her whole anthropological field study of "The Guido Tribe" and I can never forgive them for that. I think Booth's new girl, Hannah's nice, but they don't really give us a reason to like her, which is probably why we dislike her and ship Booth/Bones.
What do you think of Hawaii Five-0, Nikita and Sons of Anarchy? I watch the first two because I'm a DISGRASIAN fan and they recommended them for their AAPI leads. I like them so far, but I'm not hooked yet. I haven't watched Sons of Anarchy though, despite the fact that Charlie Hunnam is one of my all-time biggest actor crushes ever.

I love Hawaii Five-0. Its not the best show there is, but it's definitely in my top ten list. The leads are funny in their interactions with each other and there are some really great "family" moments that make me sad or happy depending on who it is or there are the ones that piss me off (aka the episode that aired Monday). Or maybe that's just me.
Nikita has some good scenes and okay story lines. It's not exactly in my top ten, but for a CW show it's better than I expected. No real humor, some bad acting, and why the hell Shane West is in this, I have no idea. But he's hot and I like the dynamic between his character and Nikita, so I'm fine with it. I started off watching Nikita because my roomie and I have nothing to watch on Thursdays. Now I watch it just because it's good and wastes an hour.
As for Sons of Anarchy. Holy hell. I watched the first episode of Season 3 because I was bored as hell (this was yesterday) and before they even got two minutes in I was searching for the first and second seasons online. (Stagevu has them, if you have divx player). Charlie Hunnam is definitely one amazing actor...who can actually act (and he's hot which is a major plus). I seriously paused the season 3 opener on hulu and then went to stagevu to watch episode 1 of season 1, then I read the recaps for the other episodes (while watching ep1) and then I went back to season 3 on hulu. I'll watch the other episodes later. The acting on this show is amazing; sure there is some questionable acting, but it's still better than some shows out there. You should definitely watch it.
Umm, and excuse my ignorance but what is "disgrasian" and "AAPI"?

DISGRASIAN is this awesome Asian American blog that talks about Asian Americans in pop culture. It's mainly a humor blog, and pretty funny. AAPI is an acronym for "Asian American Pacific Islander"

Will definitely check out Sons of Anarchy once I get the time. Nikita's gotten better since the first ep, I feel, but it's not yet epic. Too bad, cos I love the premise of the show. And Hawaii Five-0 needs better writers. They have their moments, and the four leads are great, but I don't think the side characters, the criminals and their crimes are believable at all. Will still watch it though, because it's pretty :)

Well, Joseon X-Files, Chosun Police 3, and Dr. Champ are on my Kdrama watch list.
As for US shows, I'm a Criminal Minds fan and I did start S1 of Sons of Anarchy. Both are tough to digest in one season so I dropped SOA because I watch CSI: LV and sometimes NY and Miami.
I also like Operation Repo...Not reality TV, but actuality....Who knew that watching someone get something repossessed could be so funny unless it happens to me?! It's LA at its finest.
Medium stepped it up ever since the girls got into the act....when they started developing their "gifts", they were wee ones and thus clueless. Besides, these girls can act.

I must be desensitized or something because I have no problem with watching Criminal Minds and Sons of Anarchy during the same season. They're on different nights so it's not that hard. And after this season of CM, I won't be watching it anymore (not with both JJ and Prentiss gone). So it'll just be NCIS:LA, Sons of Anarchy, Hawaii Five-0 (if it gets renewed) and whatever else I happen to get myself into.

Ohhh, I will watch CM anyways 'cos the cases....Oh, JJ and Prentiss are gone....I was sad when Elle left to be honest. SOA made my internal compass tilt to "excess"due to watching too much violence during the week as I like to watch Snapped (hehehehe) so my psyche can only take so much gritty stuff....

Never heard of "Snapped". I'll have to look it up.
JJ is already gone, but Prentiss will be gone after this season. Its kinda amusing how there's four guys and only two women...TPTB are kinda sexist. As for Elle, I never really liked her, but I was sad when she left...at least until Prentiss showed up.
SOA is definitely a show to watch, so when CM is on break you should try it. There are probably tons of places to find it online.

After done watching MGIAG, i was wondering what else to watch, then I watched SSKS out of curiosity and it was actually pretty good. I usually hate it when they cast idols to act on a drama but this one i gotta say a good drama, not just cute boys.
Just asking everyone here if you guys know this song
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2cw7xajxeU
It was on episode 7 as well when Yoon Hee was bathing. I just love the music, so beautiful. If you happen to know the song title, please do tell me :)
Ahh~ Dramas that i want to watch are Mary stayed all night, Flames of desire (Seo Woo is a good actress, gotta watch that), dr. champ and joseon x-files (If JB says it's the best drama of 2010, then it's a must-watch)

the means two more days until SKK.
hoho, since when you hear people couldn't wait for monday to come sooner or willing to skip weekends?
SKK sure has turned my world upside down!
i was so addicted to this drama like many of you..hehe..
i surfed the webs and found the chinese translation of the novel and read it in one sitting. that kinda calmed me down...but the anticipation still drives me nuts!
i must say the novel is a lot "hotter" than the drama and very explicit...

Happy Friday all...
Busy this weekend because in laws are visiting BUT will give me and hubby chance to go out on a date without 3 kids in tow...lol
Planning to stalk the internet for a SKKS site with snglish sub or rewatch PK episodes (if I have a spare time)
But can't wait for Monday, Tuesday, Wed and thurs...
if only they have a good drama on Friday, Sat and Sun....then what a wonderful week it would be.
One funny thing though, early this morning like 5 am...my father in law caught me watching the latest Ep on PK at viikii and he was like.........what is that?
I was like a Korean drama and he was like, I never knew you can understand Korean...lol Wait till he found out that my daughters sing along with the soundtrack I downloaded from every drama I saw (and play it in the car..) And he further asked...do you have a Korean ancestor? hahahaha...I told him, I think i was a Korean in the past life...lol
Enjoy the weekend all...

I think Mary will be available to Viikii watchers. Mary will be an MBC drama, and typically MBC is pretty open to negotiating licenses.

I recollect KBS is the stingiest, and SBS is hit or miss.

Despite 3 hours of sleep, I woke up inexplicably happy today. But, off course, the universe needed to take a poke at my happiness balloon - I also woke up with raging ahjumma hair. Still, I was happy, staring off into space and giggling mindlessly with a forgotten tooth brush dripping paste on the bathroom floor, when my brother so helpfully pointed out that I looked like a deranged psycho.
I ignored him with a benevolent smile, serene in my teflon coated happiness. I was even philosophical about it; 'Psh posh, he is merely fulfilling the function the universe designed for all younger brothers- the position of the pest."
Happily I stepped out of the house, and it seemed to me that even the day was celebrating. The sun was out after a few days of vacation, and it was bright. I felt wonderful, so, off course, within five minutes I was almost squished by a car. I continued on to the subway, merely reflecting in passing, about the blindness of humanity. After all, the traffic light was so glaringly RED how could the driver miss it?
The train was so surprised by my unusual punctuality, that it was struck still. I was late for work. Again. Even after waking up half an hour earlier than usual. I merely shrugged.
At this point, my smile had slipped a bit, and I was feeling the effects of only 3 hours of sleep. Since, I need to be alert for the orgo chem test I was studying sooo assiduously for, the night before. I drank 3 cups of black coffee.
I never drink coffee. So it came as a surprise to me, that I felt like fainting and yet at the same time running a marathon. My heart was pounding, and my concentration ran around chittering like ferrets on pixie sticks.
Now, don't get me wrong, I have nothing against ferrets, but I have yet to see one, that could calculate bond angles, analyze the mechanism of chemical reaction and e.t.c.... I just had to do just that while feeling like a hopped up ferret..... farewell my A, i only dreamed of you briefly.
But guess what?! I am still happy! 'Cause today is D-Day (*nudge* *nudge* Dramabeans Day. get it?) I just hope I survive for the next five hours to actually see JB and GF. I really really hope that both of you enjoy New York ! :)

Haven't watched the last couple of episodes, but everytime I watch Howard in action, I scream at my laptop screen, "SOMEONE GET HIM A GIRL PLLLLEEASSEE!" The boy SO can act, he's acting the socks off Ming Dao. He does the tortured expression thing so well.
Wish they would place him in a bit of a lighter role at times though...
Anyway, if y'all watching ZWY, are y'all also watching Endless Love (with Wilbur Pan)?

I stopped watching EL after E02. Are you following that show? How is it? I do read recaps but find rushing into marriage by E06 is a bit extreme for my taste.
I rather put my time watching Volleyball Lover 'cos Godfrey Gao is Goliath; he's a rising star too. I know what you mean, Chris Wu is taking most of the spotlight from Ming Dao and Cheryl Yang for that matter.
I hope those appreciate music will give Bii a listen:
artist: Bii
label: Eagle Music
track: Stay

The first TW drama where my favorite isn't Ming Dao, but the 2nd lead. Didn't want to watch Autumn Concerto because I hate melodrama, but the premise of Zhong Wu Yen sounded interesting so I tried it and instantly fell in love with the characters.
Especially Howard played by Chris Wu. Definitely a new actor I'm going to follow because darn he's soooo good at playing pranks and can melt my heart with his words. I feel bad that 2nd leads will never get the girl.
As for the ost, well I couldn't find it so I searched for who sang the songs and discovered Bii.
You can download all of his albums on my site at http://gallery.goldlilys-media.com . I think Bii's voice is very soulful and melodic. I prefer him singing in Chinese more though rather than Korean.

I found a new holiday, and a perfect excuse to miss work and school and laze around. From here on out, I am going to celebrate October 8th as D-Day: Drama or Dramabeans Day!
Unlike, the original D-Day, my holiday is a happy occasion! There is this wonderful tradition that involves staying in bed, cuddling your laptop filled with sweet, sweet dramas... and there is this tradition________
Come up with some more traditions dear OT family, and fill in the blank. I appeal to your
crazinessimaginations!Hmmm... do you think anyone ( professors and supervisors)will fall for it if I spin it as a major cultural holiday?

And for those who are really devout, we should get cancer, lose our spleen, find our half-brother, fall in love with him, die, but not really die just be lost in a mental hospital, regain our memory just as our childhood love is about to walk down the aisle with our arch-enemy, find out that we're pregnant with his baby, not be able to take a taxi to the wedding because our father has gambled away all of our money, run three miles just in time to be blocked by our arch-enemy's mother, fight assassins that have been sent to ensure our demise, only to pass out in the arms of our soul-mate...

Well, getting drunk and throwing up on your crush while cross dressing always sounds like a riotously good time, so I think this day should be celebrated by an all-day laptop in bed k drama marathon, and then a long night of drinking with your disdainful but secretly kind and sensitive coworker/boss/housemate/etc who thinks you're a man.

Is Playful Kiss worth watching?
I've been avoiding it because it seems poorly written. I couldn't stand that in Boys Over Flowers and I don't want to go through that again. You see, once I start, I probably won't stop watching it.

if you want a light, heart warming and fun drama playful kiss might be good for you.
its not really poorly written, its based on manwha which was also based on true to life story. its character driven drama not plot driven story.
plus jung so min is great here! kim hyun joong is a cutie and the cast were fun to watch.
i do hope you give it a try and hope that you see it the way all pk lovers see it.

PK is worth watching, in my opinion. It is very light and fluffy, and I've compared it to cotton candy about a million times. Don't look for deeper meaning and you'll be happy. Most people complain about the first five minutes, and then they stop complaining.
I couldn't watch all of the Taiwanese version without wanting to set the main actress on fire, but this version makes me all sorts of happy. I've never seen the Japanese version or read the manga.

Is PK worth watching? Well, do you like doramas? Little slice of life dramas with a bit of wackiness tossed in? Sweet, very little angst stuff that takes you back to being a 17 year old with a crush on the #1 guy in class?
It's actually being fairly close to the manga in writing, just k-drama-ized a bit in names and scenarios. Personally, I like it a WHOLE lot better than the dorama, where I found Kotoko to be the most annoying person on the planet. The screeching!!! OMHeavens. Ha Ni is much sweeter and better played.
So, worth watching if you like sweet little dramas. Not if you are expecting writing a par with Sense and Sensibility.

yes, yes, and yes.
it's happy and sweet. it's slice of life, and there is no super angsty drama, but there are many real moments. it's based on a true story about how two people gradually come to know each other, and fall deeply in love.
jung so min is adorable, kim hun joong is getting better by episodes, mama baek is jjang, the rest of the cast is delightful.
warning #1: episode 1 is the weakest, and very very slow. warning #2: despite the lack of high drama, it has become wildly addictive for many.

Worth watching yes. Other than the first 10 minutes of the first episode, this drama gets better with every episode (sans poor editting). It's not poor writing per se that was the problem in BOF anyway, in my opinion. More like a combination of things. Anyway, PK is awesome once you start. Try!

Other than one episode with absolutely pathetic editing, and small lags in the writing that make you shake your head, this show is absolutely perfect. Honestly, I am completely addicted to it, and I suspect you will be too.

Why don't I pick a favorite child first? kidding, I kid ...
I'd have to say YAB followed closely by My Girl and even closer to DGCH ... MGiaG and CoT and HGD are all now working for me, overall. :)

I haven't seen HGD, although it is on my list.
YAB is my favorite, followed by DGCH then My Girl... MIiaG was okay, but it didn't take up a significant part of my fantasy time.
What's CoT?

Yeah, it's like picking a favorite child. I enjoyed all hong sisters' dramas i've seen. For me it's a three way tie between my girl, DGCH ang MGIAG. Next favorite is HGD. Then YAB. I had YAB last because it took til ep 5 to get me hooked. As far as the OST, it's hands down YAB. Looooooved the songs.
I haven't seen fantasy couple though. I think thats their only drama i haven't seen.
