Man, this is the best movie trailer I’ve seen in a while. How can something that tells you so little about the movie — at least in terms of story — be so cool?
It doesn’t even show you its star’s face — and with Lee Min-ki (Chilling Romance, Haeundae) as the lead, it’s quite a pretty face at that — but it looks badass and totally entertaining, and stylish as hell.
Right??
Oh right, the story:
Quick is “speed-action blockbuster” (so, lots of fast things blowing up), whose title refers to the type of courier in Korea called “quick service delivery.” Our hero is one such courier who’s given the mission to convey a bomb within 30 minutes, which takes him through the heart of Seoul at super-high speeds.
The movie is produced by director Yoon Je-kyun, he of high-budget blockbuster mega-hit disaster movie Haeundae. So it’s not a surprise to see that Quick’s main cast has carried over from that film: aside from Lee Min-ki, there’s also Kang Ye-won (Hello Ghost) and Kim In-kwon (You’re Beautiful).
Kang gets to be the only woman in the cast, and plays a singer in a girl group who regularly uses quick delivery services due to her packed schedule. She gets caught up in the bomb terror incident and travels with Lee Min-ki on his 30-minute delivery mission.
Kim, on the other hand, plays a traffic officer, who’ll get to show off his comic chops again and sprinkle the movie with some levity. He joins in on the high-speed mission after trying to stop the others, and ends up caught up in the mayhem.
Quick is set to release on July 21.

Sigh. Really not my kind of thing… I hope he’ll do a drama again soon, hopefully a quirky romcom!

wow! This looks like its very well directed which is difficult for an action movie. My heart started beating faster from watching this trailer… and there’s no speaking in it.

not what you call the most original of plots but for these sort of film no one really watches for the story just the action and stunts.

i marathoned dal ja’s spring a couple of weeks ago and osdijfosidjfosidjfosdf it jumped up to being one of the best kdramas ever, and i’ve basically stalked everything lee min ki has ever done on this planet and i was so excited for this to come out +_+

I do have a question about this, if there is a BOMB about to explode in 30 short minutes, would a simple cellphone call be a LOT quicker than a “quick” “pretty” courier?

from other sources, Min Ki’s character doesn’t know he was delivering “bombs”. He did notice that each location he stopped at to do his delivery exploded after he made the delivery and on one of the stops he picks up Kang Ye Won’s character who triggered a timing mechanism in the helmet he hands her to wear. Soon he gets a call from a mysterious person…
Min Ki looks extremely cool sporting his then “new” haircut on the motorbike w/ his sunglasses (if you can find the photos taken by bystanders/fans during the filming sometime last year/early this year).
This is MJP Hubby’s type of movie! It reminds me more of Jason Statham in The Transporter more than Speed.

Researched Haeundae, chillingly similar to what happened in Japan this year. Maybe not something I want to watch…
