Happy Friday y'all.....Yay CS is finally over this week....despite loving it..im glad its over....havent yet watched the last ep...bt frm wat i hear it ws a happy ending..thank god for that...like GF said in her last recap..i too have love hate relationship with this drama....it ws definitely not a bad drama and the acting was phenomenal and every single episode had at least one outstanding heart tugging moment...bt the pace of the drama ruined what could have been awsome...they just held back too much and waited for the end (which is unfortunately what spoils a lot of kdramas) when they should have gone for a more natural flow of things....that being said im glad we have a happy ending and im totally happy for discovering gr8 new actors like seo woo (i know she's not new bt its my first time watching her) and taecyeon...bt enough abt CS...
im lovin CH... and this is hw a drama should be paced....though at his point im rooting fr SY/JS i wont be disappointed if they decide to do something different..its sooo amusing to hear ppl rant abt shipping and their confusion aftr every episode...we kdrama fans are way too spoiled when it comes to OTP's...lol....there is one thing im nervous abt...i heard that the director said in an interview that things will take a very diff turn at around ep 12 that u'l be wondering if it ws the same drama that u've been watching all along....idk if that is good news...maybe he ws just talking abt the midway angst that hits a drama at around that ep..habe to wait and watch
abt Bad Guy...im lovin the way its shot and the mystery and the acting is gr8 too...and i know ppl are saying its gr8 bt hasnt reached its full potential...i cnt judge on that since this is my first time watching a mystery/thriller drama...bt frm what im seeing its gr8....bt i dont feel a connection to it yet...idk if ill continue to watch it aftr ep 4 if thats the case
if I drop it then I will need another fresh kdrama fix......im really not looking forward to King of Baking kim tak gu (too much makjang frm what i hear abt the plot) or birdie buddy (i just dont find any of the leads appealiong enough)....bt ill watch the first 2 eps anyways and then make my pick...
Im dying to watch Road No 1 !!...which seems so far away at this pt

@ 47 Barbara: So that's where I've seen him before! I was wonderin' bout that!

I just started watching Coffee House, been reading the recaps and figured I'd give it a try, but sad to say I'm just not that fond of it yet. The only character I really find appealing so far is the manager guy.

Hi all

This is a Brit from Blighty. (I'm always interested to know if anyone else is as mad on Kdramas as I am, who is English and resides in Blighty....apart from those wonderful girls at Seoul Plaza in Bournemouth and they don't count coz they're Korean and think I'm really strange because I'm SO into Korean culture and no on else in this country of mine seems to know anything about South Korea...thanks for the pronounciaton tips, by the way)
CS......Too much angst
PT........dissapointed, although how can anyone tire of watching the beautiful Lee MIn Ho. Anyone else dissapointed too? It had potential but never managed to carry it through as far as I'm concerned.
CH....a refreshing change, but who ends up with who, if at all? Any guesses?
Bod Boy.......yum, so cute and such melodrama. Looking forward to this one:)))))))
Have a great weekend everyone.
Lots of love

For those who haven't watched Prosecutor Princess I think you have missed one of the best dramas ever! It's underrated compared to CS and PT but I REALLY LOVE it! hahaha seriously, after watching CS, PT, OML & PP, prosecutor princess has been my favorite of all. The two leads are awesome and they're oozing with chemistry! The rest of the cast are also great. I also love the acting, story, lines and the director definitely did a good job in making beautiful scenes. Love the ost esp goodbye my princess by Monday Kiz. Everytime I hear that song I sometimes get goosebumps because I really spazz and remember the scenes between Seo Inwoo and Ma Hyeri..gosh they're just perfect for each other. I sometimes wish they should end up together in real life hahahaha! It's been so long since I've been attached into a drama. PP definitely caught my attention just after watching 1st ep because of Seo Inwoo (Park Shihoo). Although he's not a flower boy but man he has loooooooooots of appeal and HOT hahaha! and I was really curious on what will happen to the story so I continued watching. I'm so glad I gave PP the chance to watch and I never regret it =] Hope you'll give PP a chance too and I promise you'll never be disappointed :)

PS: I'm having withdrawal symptoms because of this drama..hahaha! I'm now looking for a new drama to watch and I'm thinking If I'll give Bad Guy/Coffee House a chance..for those who have watched them is it good?

Happy OT Friday everyone!

Like everyone else Coffee House is my K-drama love at the moment. I haven't put in the effort to watch Bad Guy yet though I am excited to see the sexy bastard that is Kim Nam Gil!

@ 9 Lucy
I am actually really enjoying Tsuki No Koibito. And yes it was cute the head smack but I really don't like Xiu Mei. I've discussed this with my drama pal and I think its because personally I don't like her. There is something about her that makes me want to hurl. However as a viewer, I hate that I don't like her because she seems nice. Maybe she seems too "unreal" or her "innocence" is too nauseating? IDK. I feel like I sound so hateful. Its like saying I hate puppies or babies or something. Anyway, other than her I like all the other characters. They work for me. I look forward to seeing how things pan out. Though I'm not convinced about this "first love story in 10 years angle" that is wafting around about KT. I feel the same way about the relationships in this drama that I have about quite a few he's done over that last few years.

Can't say I'm watching anything else current. Unfortunately I read the recaps for CS, PT and PP so I don't see myself actually watching them anytime soon. I will say though that I am looking forward to a bright k-drama future more now, than I was 2 weeks ago. I see promise in a few offers.

Have a great weekend everyone!

happy friday to everyone!
its been quite a week in terms of dramas - i just finished watching episode 3 of "bad guy," and there was some major relationship progress, as well as more insight into the lives of the characters! it sucks that there's only one episode this week, but i'm sure that everyone will be watching world cup and cheering for the south korea tigers!

coffee house pages 5&6 were crazy and made me laugh as usual, though i sort of feel like its beginning to drag a bit in the plot department; we get to delve a little bit deeper into the pasts and underlying emotional tensions of the characters, but that only takes us so far. however, one thing i do love is how well both of the relationships between js and ey as well as js and sy are developing and progressing. i have to say that the drama is definitely quirky and original, and right now i'm rooting for js and sy, but maybe that will change in the future.

anyways, i hope everyone has a nice day and i look forward to more kdrama and world cup goodness next week! :)

I echo the sentiments of the PP-ers.

I was originally turned off by the first 2 eepisodes; 'hated' the female lead character. but i revisited it and got hooked from episode 3. it's funny how a lot of us have the same experience with the drama. i watched the low-quality videos at viikii then downloaded the better quality ones and subs from all over the place. just waiting for the last episode. been re-watching as soon as i get the HQ videos but will make another round when i get all the episodes. How Addicted is that! My better half is asking me.. 'so are going to convert to being a Korean?'... like it's a religion or something. I have stopped watching the Western dramas on TV; they pale in comparison to my fav Asian dramas. And I am Asian but now living in a Westernised country.

Just started watching the ongoing Mike He Taiwanese drama. This is my first time watching him and am loving it. Gives a more realistic portrayal of entertainment idols... not all of them live a flashy lifestyle. and to some, it's a job... a means to earn a living. good script and hopefull good story. altho' it's verging into the typical 'incestuous' relationships between the characters... like they're all being dragged into the middle of the Bermuda triangle.

Cheers to all.

P.S.
@66 lisa: Like you, I'm also wondering how samsooki is doing. It's like he's an acquaintance you always see in the pub on Friday nights and suddenly he stopped showing up. You wonder... Hope he and his family are okay.

Im a Brit too!!!!!

My mother hates K drama's, tho she did love J Hana Yori Dango. She dislikes that I spend so much time watching them.

Anyway not been the most loyal K drama follower lately, dropped CS (too much crying), OML ( too typical and predictable, rather just watch Last Scandal than this), PT (wheres the story and the fun? Dostana did it better), PP (on hold I loved the first 3 eps but didn't want to wait). Not to mention I've been skiming through T dramas, AC, HMS etc, but P.S Man caught my eye, its a great drama.

I feel like I need to get in to J doramas again since they always gave me the most variety but I can't seem to find an interesting one, have all the writers in Japan got a writers block and so are forcing all these silly cutesy dramas on us?

Also just wanted to add that Life is Beautiful has been great, I skip the drama but check out the T&K relationship, so good.

Happy Friday everyone!

Just wondering is anyone is watching My Country Calls? I think it's a really underrated drama but it's really been enjoyable thus far. It's funny and the characters are amusing and fun. It's actually a really easy to watch drama and just the laugh I need at the end of the day.

@xiahkixiri: Networking is kind of like an awkward first date. First a basic: dress nicely. If you know who you're going to talk to you might want to try and learn some stuff about them beforehand. Relating something they do to something you're in the process of doing or have done in the past is a good starter. Have a business card, even if it just says your name, cell and e-mail. Finally, don't be too nervous; it also helps if you have a funny story or something unique to tell someone else (they'll remember you better that way). If you want to keep in touch, make sure you ask for their business card in return and follow up thanking them in an e-mail for taking time out to talk to you (it'd be best to be specific about what you talked about as well).

Soooo my Thursday sucked. My mother is like Cinderella Unni/basic kdrama devil mom times a thousand. No wonder I watch dramas...Also one of my cats is missing, out to go look for him. :(

hey everybody, this is my first time posting here. i found this site when i was watching Pasta earlier this year and i must really really thank javabeans and girlfriday for everything that they have done for this site! you two are awesome!

i am currently watching cinderella's sister and coffee house. i stopped CS at ep 12 because i went to korea for my grad trip (damn awesome, btw!) and i was so stupidly happy just to be able to watch snippets of CS in korea itself! anyway, been following all the recaps because the angst was getting way too much for me. but now that i know there's light at the end of the tunnel, i will probably re-start it within the next few weeks.

i have been following coffee house religiously! it's too funny for words! and now that they are introducing the back story, i really really want to know what it is! i have no theories about the pairings at all, i am just going to let the show bring me around for a fun ride!

Hi soysauce,

Though I'm watching CH in viikii, I am also downloading the HQ videos for re-watching.

What i do is google Coffee House + megaupload and it schould return to you a site called megauploadbay or something like that. I then go to haruharu site for the subs. They're up to date with the raw videos in megaupload and up to epi-4 for the subs last time I looked.

hope that helps.

@ 38 supah

Take your time to enjoy the awesomeness of Lee Bum-soo. I first saw him in SBDH and then backtracked some of his movies. He is indeed one great actor - fantastic in both emotional dramatic and comedic roles (Actually very, very good in comedy.)

BTW, where can you watch Kyung-sook’s Father? I've been looking for it for a while.

@ 70 Lady of Spice

I am currently only watching My Country Calls and Bad Guy. (Will join Coffee House very soon when I have the time.) I am having a fantastic time in MCC - supreme mindless fun and what a great way to de-stress. Very well-paced and tightly plotted so far - beyond my expectation although I can see how it is inpired by the HK movie Love Undercover.

I havent seen the HK movie Love Undercover, I'll have to watch it. Unfortunately Viikii just changed the status of MCC to license pending and just when I was in the middle of episode 7! :( So it will be a while before I'm able to get my MCC fix. :( If you have any suggestions of where I can watch it with subs, please let me know.

wait..i am also figuring out why Kim Nam Gil is hot..(??)
Choi Si Won is mad- crazy cute and so does TaecYon..they are simply boys with man beastly bodies..
I am more a Lee Jung Jae, Kim Kang Woo, Jung Woo Sung, Oh JiHo and Ha Jung Woo girl..but the ultra sexy Korean is Rain..i am so anticipating his new drama..
Peace Friday All!

CS....what a big disappointment. may be i expected too much out of it....i dropped watching it from 12th episode and only relying on the recaps...too much of melodrama and angst but there is at least one heart touching moment in each episode...anyway it had a happy ending and that is what all i need

PT...as someone said Dostana is far better....but i love the lead pair

PP...the middle episodes of this series is awesome...i did'nt feel the connectivity with any of the characters in the beginning but from ep 7 or 8 onwards it turned out to be better than PT or CS...the lead pair has an awesome chemistry although i did'nt like the female lead actress...if you have time then definitely give this drama a try

currently watching CH,Bad Guy and Tsuki no koibito...this is my first time watching Kang Ji Hwan and oh boy he is totally lovable and adorable...he's so unique like his character and he has a very good comic timing...i don't mind who ends with who but PSY should improve her acting skills if she is paired with KJW(should match with his level na...).
Bad Guy is very good when it comes to music score and narrating of the story. Although i personally don't think Kim Nam Gil is hot...the drama is very interesting and also i'm impressed very with Kim Jae Wook...in ep 2 when he was crying when he found that his gf was dead i too cried along with him(i don't usually cry seeing melos)
Tsuki No Koibito is so boring and dull... may be bcoz Maemi is currently being shown as second lead..i hate Xiu Mei character...a 28yr old acting like a kid is totally getting on my nerves but i will still watch for Kimura...

Well, currently I'm absolutely in love with Coffee House and Dong Yi :). None of the other dramas that are airing now are tempting to watch :(. Might watch some old ones. Ideas anyone?

I can't find KS Father anywhere, whether to stream or download. But I won't give up the search, will let you know soon as I find it anywhere.
I jumped straight into SBDH and love it! Of course, since it's based in the same hospital as OB-GYN it all feels so familiar, I'm half expecting Dr Wang to appear in a corridor doing his sexy strut or the Song Joong-ki version of Dr Ahn. Haha! Even the children's ward, OB-GYN kept the same smiling monkeys wall display.

I was in love with LBS Dr Ahn, as soon as he appeared, about 8mins into the drama when he yells out ''it's (insert name of condition), you pig head!'
Also, he has a trademark line as an actor which I think actually originated from this drama ''nagha! Naghara-gu!''

(Here's one of the Wondergirls doing an impersonation: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ctVYKQlNGik -- for the record: I can do it way better heh.)

I've watched four episodes of it so far. I think I'll have to continue watching it in small chunks. The format is different to OB-GYN so much easier to marathon but still, it's a medical drama. Btw, that mortality conference was hella intimidating, when they stand Dr Bong up on stage and hurl all kinds of verbal suckerpunches at her for her inadequacies. But it's OK, they also gave Dr Lee one of those sessions, he deserved it for his tardy decision-making, huh!

Thanks JB for giving us space to go blabbering at what ever on our mind.
May I suggest you do a thread letting all the comments name their most favorite drama? It would be fun to see how everybody's choice is. Anyway, just a thought.

@9 Lucy
I did watch Tsuki No Koibito( Moon Lovers) ep4 and loved it. At the end when ren smiled, I went like ,Aww Kimura's smiling! Why lots of ppl don't like Xu Mei? I like her, she suits her role as an innocent Chinese very well. Maemi is great too. I'm not sure who will end up with who though. I love both female leads. This drama has good editing and music. Heard it 's just 7ep drama, is it true?

Man, I'm trying to finish this Kdrama 'Swallow the sun' , it 's so boring more and more. At ep15 now and still trying. The story is draggy, hope finishing it soon.

Happy weekend everyone.

I'm am so excited to read a full review of Thank You which I haven't seen anywhere on the web to date. Its one of my top 10 and having known very little about the drama when I started watching it was one of the rare sleeper drama for me that took me by surprise. Knowing a little bit of Serendipity's thoughts already on the drama I know I'm going to love the review. I couldn't have thought of another person who is more passionate about Thank You to do it justice .

@CU watchers

I just finished CU 20. There are some key resolutions in ep 20 BUT it would have worked much better in my opinion if the drama was packed into the usual 16 ep format. I feel ep 20 was a bit too dragging especially after CU 19's fast plot movement. I think if it wasn't for one or two key resolutions I would have been happy with ending of ep 19.

@ 72 janna; see, it's for beginners, no prior knowledge or experience of business required. so there'll be nothing i've done at all! it's something i'm thinking of going into later. also fresh out of university, i don't have a business card. i think it's meant to be more informal than that, dress code is casual. which is why i'm rather at a loss as to what i'll say to any of the bigshots apart from commend them on their entrepreneurial prowess... i don't want to gush. :|

You're so going to hate me for my constant dithering, but y'know how I was kindasorta insinuating that Park Sang Min is the one and only weak link in terms of casting? Well I may just be wrong.

This is PSM 20yrs ago, playing the title role in The General's Son (a 90s trilogy).
http://www.hancinema.net/voir_une_photo.php?table=films&id_objet=350&id=11493&typephoto=&episode=&copyright=

You see that gaze with its slow burning intensity? Isn't it deliciously accusational? That's the Lee Sung Mo gaze right there. All he needs to do is recreate that exact same look and with it bore holes into Cho Pil-yeon's back like KSH used to do and I'll be extremely happy.

Suddenly, I'm very excited. (I just love setting myself up for epic disappointment, don't I?)

Still miss the younger LSM though, as the like-mute laundry boy; whose eyes communicated everything. Everything being; his yearning heart resonating with the one word; 'abheoji', his childish vulnerability, his frustration at being so powerless, his paralysis-inducing fear of Cho, his vengeance seeking unadulterated hatred, topped with a murderous glint in his eye.
I found a wonderful clip of him, and no it isn't to catch him shirtless again, but this was one of those rare moments where he indulged in emotional release and just *look* at his eyes at the end of the clip.

@nycgrl @celestialorigin-san @CUwatchers

I think 16 will serve the pace better, but my problem w/ the writer will remain unresolved. He/she is very inconsistent. There are 6 entirely amazing episodes out of 20 (I wont credit the writer solely though), that still wont make a 16 run less tempting to throw things at. I've been sticking w/ the drama because even in the other episodes, there were at least a scene or 2 that very effectively touched me emotionally and that hasn't happened in the longest time in a Kdrama I've seen. So I bear w/ the flaws of the drama because when it's good, I can't get it in anything else. I also can't get MGY+ CJM elsewhere. lol

For me, CU ends at 19. I'd rather not watched 20. The 'key' resolutions r so contrived to start out w/ I cant stop wander off and thought...hm..if they r doing live shot y dont they read DCinside?! the fans have WAY better plots for the ending, if we gather heads the few of us can come up w/ a much better script for 20. tbh, it felt like it was there to give deserved screen time for HS, for JW. I even can see how lethargic the actors are in it, esp MGY and CJM.

Shall we post all the plot points writer just forgot to address yet wasted time on issues that need no further resolution?! let alone long speeches that r not memorable at all, lines that r too predictable, and do not deserve to be on an ending episode.

Overall I had a very good ride w/ CU, I have no regrets. I may have to thank the writer for giving me a bleh ending episode so I can move on. I had a brief intense romance w/ the drama, and I part w/ it rem all its goodness and did not bear a grudge. I had more admiration of MGY, CJM, LMS, KGS and SW and even Taec (even if not solely based on his acting)

It'll have a very special place in me. I won't recommend it to the world, I'm content w/ my own watching experience. It brought me to emotional highs and lows that I thought I'm too jaded to feel for sth as fundamental as a hug, or a gentle first kiss. :)

They talked about their fav scenes here:

finished cinderella's sister finale today, and am sooo disappointed and frustrated. yes, the ending was ultimately a happy one. but the stuff in the middle! completely unnecessary, and i felt the writers added it in just to fill up 60plus minutes. i dont want to give away any spoilers here, but i will definitely do my fair share of ranting when girlfriday (hopefully) posts up the recap. though i wont be surprised if she decides not to, after watching that heck of a finale. xppp i was going to forgive the slow pacing of the drama and give the show credit for good acting and characterization. but the finale bugs me sooo much ugh.

hearing everyone getting into coffee house makes me curious to give it a try, but i wasnt initially drawn into the premise. but i've been trying to watch kang ji hwan in smth and never got the chance to (i know! the blasphemy!), so maybe i'll give it a shot.

argh cinderella's sister! such a love and hate kinda drama for me! but i will seriously miss chun jung myung. he is soo cute!

@93 mookie. "I’ve been sticking w/ the drama because even in the other episodes (not brilliant ones), there were at least a scene or 2 that very effectively touched me emotionally and that hasn’t happened in the longest time in a Kdrama I’ve seen."

You read my mind sis. After watching Kdrama or any other drama for a long time, I too feel that I'm jaded. Can guess where most drama (drama that focus on human relationships) will turn and twist. Not with CS. Some of the turns and twists are unpredictable in the beginning that I like it. Remember the body slam KH did on EJ on first ep? My...that was so out of the blue. I like to be surprised. Even the characters and subject is not usual and the writer is able to peel the layers of the characters brilliantly... in the beginning.

Things start unraveling midway. Inconsistency and repetitive actions make me sometimes want to choke the writer. She/he has lots of interesting side characters to make the drama go on another level. The business side of the drama should have been more in depth. Then 20 ep will be right.

CS is special to me. Would I recommend it to others? Don't know. It's personal what every viewer takes out of it. Those that watch it might like the EJ-HS dynamics, some might like EJ-KS or HS-KS dynamics or EJ-KH dynamics. But for me personally, EJ-DS dynamics is the most special. It's just on the right note and hit me on the spot again and again emotionally. It depends on your relationship with your family. Some people have mothers like KS. It is painful to watch it. Some have step siblings. So EJ-HS dynamic might draws them in. My father was a lot like DS. He passed away more than 20 years ago. Need I say more why I love seeing EJ-DS interactions?

EJ and KH. Their chemistry is explosive. They can curse or say harsh things to each other but we the viewer still know that they love each other. Or they can make the term like "my bad girl" affectionate. That is very high skill actings indeed. But I do wish especially after ep 14 or even way before the writing about their interactions to be tighter. They also have lots of memorable scene. Some of the not so memorable ones are in ep 20. Their conversation is...bleh. I've been rewriting it in my mind for the past few days. I am sure this pair will explode the fanfic sites. When you have lots of people who are passionate about the characters but piss off of the development of their stories, their outlet is the fanfic :)

I'm busy downloading the series and patiently waiting for withs2 sub. My most heartfelt thank you to jampong(the uploader) and withs2 subbers team. I might not watch it whole second time but I'll sure be re-watching scenes I like. And to people who loves CS, thank you for your views and points in enriching my understanding of the story :)

@mookie

I totally agree with the problems with the writer. I don't think I like this writer very much. The 16 ep format would have helped as well as sticking with one director. I remember watching later episodes and thinking where did the fantasy element go? Like for many the draw of CU for me were really the actors especially MGY, CMJ, KGS and LMS. I chided myself when I was thinking of giving up on this series back, back when I can't remember when with a stern, "when and where are you going to get such a fab cast like this! Man up and keep watching" and I also have to say I really did buy into the CMJ and MGY's OTP. The other piece of this show I liked was how ineffective they made KH's character. I know that doesn't sound like a sell but it was refreshing to me that the lead would be drawn so negatively and made to be so undashing to the point where if it wasn't CMJ playing the role I would have abandoned the OTP a while ago.

Ep 20 Spolier
BTW I hated the kissing scene in ep 20. uhhh. It felt so tired and I felt like it was a complete repeat of the kiss scene in ep 19 but worse!!! I'm also going to confess I fell asleep in the first 1/4 of ep 20 because it was so boring and draggy. If it wasn't for the Hyosun and EJ scene the entire ep would have been bust for me.

@ 93 mookie. "Mine will forever be the ending of ep18"

Don't you mean ep 19? The BTS shot of ep 19 is way hotter than what they show at the end ep 19. I don't know how professional I can be if I am MGY in that scene :)

Thank you for the you tube link also. That are some of my favorite scenes also.
