30 Day Drama Challenge

Day 13 – Overrated Drama – #MeteorGarden2001 #HanaYoriDango #BoysOverFlowers #MeteorGarden2018

I still don’t get the fuss. But I’ve seen them all. And I was addicted to all of them.

Hana Yori Dango was that drama that you should be appalled watching. And you should have dropped because it was so cringy, over the top, full of tropes, toxic, overrated. Should. But here you are, finding yourself glued to the screen as Tsukasa and Tsukushi do their usual push-pull, love-hate relationship. Still glued to the screen watching these four horrible arrogant rich boys strut around the campus while they bully the rest of the students.

Hana Yori Dango was that drama I would love to hate, yet it was my gateway to everything I know of today – the world of Asian dramas. First Asian drama ever, first Taiwanese drama, first Japanese drama, and first Chinese drama. It also introduced me to four of my favourite boys – Jerry Yan, Lee Min Ho, Matsumoto Jun, and Dylan Wang.

Very Overrated drama. Will I watch another adaptation if there is one? *rolls eyes* Yes.

*whispers* I own all 37 books as well….. 🙈

I don’t know what’s more shocking. That this story needed 37 books or that you own them!!

🙈🙈🙈 Yes, yes, I paid hefty amount for a trash story like this and these books take up a space on my bookcase. Yes yes. Did I mention I am not fan of this series because it is so cringy, over the top, full of tropes, toxic, overrated?????????? 🙊

Yep I guess we do have that guilty pleasure we keep watching from time to time even if it’s so horribly written and totally not worth the hype…….🤪

It’s better that way! You’re better off not knowing what’s making everyone go crazy about Hana Yori Dango……… because I believe we have no clue either 😅

I know for my part part of the fun of MG2018 was (was that really 2 years ago?!) was the hype. That turned into the group live watch/live translat-athon. I keep telling myself that Im going to watch MG2018 again by myself since its fully subbed but I’m pretty sure the memory of watching the drama here will always be way better than whatever is happening in the drama.
    Although.

The what is with all this PPL? comment during the random cooking competition.
Like a River big sister sexy dance proposal/wedding

Will have always been worth the watch (and any possible rewatch. Should I rewatch that?)

Group watching always takes the drama watch to a whole new level. It’s always fun. So I’m pretty sure the feels won’t be the same anymore if one is to watch it alone…

And auuugh darn PPLs… those PPLs on the finale – when they were supposed to be having honeymoon and there was shampoo, shaving cream, foundation PPL, stir fry pan to name a few. 😵😵😵

And that Say Something OST Lol.

      Should I rewatch that?

I think the more fitting question to your question is well, would you want to see Caina again????? 😵😵😵😵😵😵 and ho through all her ordeal?
