    I don’t blame you.

☹ I get it. Maybe try the recaps for HeartBeat, King the Land, or Numbers? There’s a lot of joy and enthusiasm in those threads – and a lot of fun to be had in those shows.

I can vouch for the Heartbeat thread. Is it the cringe CGI that repelled the naysayers early on? 😂 I want to put in a word for Revenant as well. It’s an occult thriller so few people on DB seem to be watching. But those of us who are, think it’s a winner.

    I just ignore it.

For this drama, you need to accept the original idea and go with it. After 8 episodes, some people are still questionning it, it’s kinda useless. So I don’t mind their comments.

I absolutely lost my mind at the nitpicking of that kiss. I mean Seo Ha feels excluded in his own family, he is lonely, he is finding out the person closest to him as a child might have died because she was collateral damage in a plot that targeted his life. Ji Eum was there and that emotional vulnerability led to a kiss. Is it that hard to believe that. He finally stopped fighting his growing attraction and let her in through the cracks. Its not full blown love, he is only starting to untangle himself from a lifelong truama. This is not a drama where Seo Ha will love Ji Eum as Ji Eum. Because Ji Eum herself is living as Joo Won so why is this unacceptable. Joo Won hasn’t tried to let go of the past so why must Seo Ha fall for her as a different person. Ji Eum is Joo Won. I mean, if that concept is hard for someone to accept 8 episodes in with only 4 more left then this drama isn’t for that person.

Ji Eum is basically 19 people in one body.. he he. This girl must have the the most complicated identity crisis ever!!

By now I know the people who are enjoying and watching it. I just read their comments and ignore the rest.
I on the other hand feel that this show really needed 16 episodes. The emotional aspects and growth would be more impactful then.

Loads are enjoying it, I know that but the moment I start scrolling down in the recap and see the nitpicking and constant criticism, it just makes me not want to add any comments in there. I am sure I am not the only one who feels that way and just leaves.

It happens to some shows I love, thankfully it doesn’t bother me much. And I enjoy the shows I like no matter what others think or say.
No show is perfect and some criticisms can be valid. Many times disappointment is higher when expectation is higher or if you loved a show’s earlier episodes and it doesn’t keep up with your expectations.
But yeah, if it’s taking away your enjoyment then staying away is good.
Hope you see you in recaps for another drama soon!

I’m sure you’re not, unfortunately. It’s painful to see how negative the discussions on the recap threads are.

Sometimes with a truly bad show it’s fun to pile on in the comments and make fun of it in all its awfulness – but that is totally not the case for this show. It’s not flawless, but it’s (at least) a pretty good drama and overall quite enjoyable.
There’s a weird disconnect between the generally positive reception of it here, especially judging by enthusiastic beanie comments in the “what we’re watching” threads, and the gloomy, disappointed, even angry tone of so many of the recap comments. I usually don’t mind negative opinions and even look forward to reading those viewpoints, but it’s soured me on the recap threads, too.

Exactly, this is by far a much better drama than a lot of ordinary shows.

I binge-watch, and skip the comments especially for shows I’m loving. That way I can enjoy my watch to my heart’s content.

I do look at comments for shows I’m not enjoying. It has a few benefits. Cooling down my anger. Showing me new outlooks I haven’t considered. Finding solace in reading like-minded comments.

I like reading both appreciative and critical comments about shows, but I do feel like things have become very critical around here. Sometimes I wonder if a lot of Beanies have just been watching dramas for too long with no breaks and have become jaded, because a lot of discussions seem to be missing that spark of enjoyment. I also can’t remember when the last time we had a drama where the recaps were just pure JOY. That seemed to happen a few times a year previously where dramas really took off here and everyone had a shared sense of obsession. I miss that feeling!

I’m sorry it has been keeping you away from the site! I haven’t been around much because of Life but posts like this remind me that I should make an effort to post comments when I’m really enjoying a show, because sharing the joy of watching dramas is what made me fall in love with this site in the first place

There’s something weird going on for tgis show though….the show might be a mixed bag but the mega pile on happening here is just weird.

Looking forward to seeing more of your comments, Mindy. I discovered this site because of BTLIOF, and I really did enjoy your (and other veteran Beanies as well) insights on the recaps/fanwalls wayback 2017. The engagements were so much fun. I would have joined in on the discussion, had I not been 5-6 years late. 😅

I am so glad you commented on your fan wall so that those of us who are enjoying the show can join you here. If you want to post your comments here after reading the weecaps we can come find you and join in if that would be something that works for you but no pressure if you don’t have the inclination.

Like twitter, tiktok is so much more positive, people seem joyful and excited and then I came to read the recap and then its like a giant black hole….the show is not perfect and yes, you can criticize it but if you only read the comments and never watched the show, you’d think this show has nothing good going on in it.

Reading the recaps and comments for a show I am interested in has always been (an enjoyable) part of my watching journey, so it’s really a pity when we can’t do that. I feel you.

A lot of shows I like weren’t even recapped here, some were but didn’t attract a lot of comments, that’s why sometimes when I really wanted to express my feeling about a show, I plucked up my courage and posted something on my fan wall.

Please talk about a show you like on your fan wall when you’re in the mood for it, there’re always beanies who share your sentiments. They’ll come and join you.
