Beanie level: Water maid

Between work and trying to catch up with all the dramas I’m watching, I don’t have much time to post here. Nevertheless, I finished watching “Sweet Home 2” yesterday and short review: “it should never have been made”.
It was boring, it was not sweet home as I knew it, too many non-connecting stories. Even the main character was missing throughout the series and the reveal of whom Sang wook was at the end actually raised more questions than answers. Perhaps, the storyline will be connected with the second part of season 2 coming out next year. They just made the plot bigger and humans more monstrous and ruined the essence of the series for me.

If it was an independent series, then it wouldn’t be a bad story. It reminds me of “Hellhound” and “All of ‘them’ are dead” as it’s all about surviving a new, nightmarish world, and dealing with the worst of humanity. However, they made it a season 2 of Sweet Home and honestly, it feels like two different shows.

Jiang Xuening might also be a masochist because falling in love with that crazy Xie Wei who is controlling, jealous, insane and violent doesn’t make sense. He might be the ML, but even I recognize the neon red flag that he is

My Demon: I watched the first two episodes of “My Demon” over the weekend. The purpose of a show is to entertain you and I can say I was thoroughly entertained. I raised my eyes at some of the scenes and I tried not to think too much about some of the themes because I might overthink and sour my good feelings for the show.

Perfect Marriage revenge: when I learned that the show was only 12episodes, I fell behind and failed to watch the most recent episodes (4). I will catch up during this week. I probably also fell behind due to the intense stress the show is causing me. Everyone is scheming and trying to knock each other down. I am stressed and I feel my blood pressure rise while watching their shenanigans.

Story of Kunning Palace: this is the second Zhang Linghe series that I am finishing this year. This is also the second BaiLu’s series I’m completing this year. BaiLu as usual delivered her good enough acting which did not detract from the show. Linghe on the other hand was exceptional. His acting was intense and I could feel all the repressed madness he was feeling. His character was cunning, manipulative and insane. BaiLu’s character was just morally gray which I also liked. Theresa side characters too were amazing. Theresa girl that turned into her cousins concubine was a chess worthy move. Some endings were bittersweet (that poor girl that was trapped as the main wife while Jiang Xuehui became a favored concubine). The plot was overall good. Barring some minor Deus ex machina, it was tight. No filler scenes or unnecessary dialogue. 9/10

Hae na and Seon wu are so wrong for being too excited when Yul volunteered to go home😂
Yul’s eye roll at their “really?” was epic. His tears although sad was hilarious 😂😂😂

I laughed and assumed that must be some famous kmovie or kdrama scene when one tear rolls down the face of the “rejected lover” as he walks away from the OTP 😆

I finished Doona! Over the weekend and I don’t know how I feel about it.
Suzy is definitely a better actress now as I felt all her despair, desperation and anger. I don’t know the ML, but he had great chemistry with her and he sort of fades into the background, I really hope that’s his character design. The typical misunderstood and understanding character dynamics, with burning passion.

However,I was just left unsatisfied. Not because of the open ending, but because of the disjointed and jerky storyline. I felt pieces of the story were missing or that plots were glossed over. I know people are quirky, but I felt some of their actions didn’t make sense. Dona’s reaction or actions towards Won Jun didn’t make sense and vice versa but I guess it’s for plot progression.

Nevertheless, I loved the fact that the characters including side characters didn’t shy away from difficult and challenging discussions. They spoke up and had conversations to some extent and reached conclusions that was reasonable to them.

Episodes 8-9 were incredibly disjointed! I sort of figured that was coming–folks over on the Hangout have suggested that the drama was shortened dramatically in editing. Perhaps.

I liked it best–as is usual for me with relationship dramas–in the period before the main couple becomes a couple. That is, in the time we get to know them as individuals.

I still have a gut feeling that Netflix trimmed back the shows length. Ending on 9 episodes is just weird, especially with the rather surreal and choppy editing we see in E9. I am still googling to see if there is any news to confirm this, but so far I cannot find anything.

I kept going back, wondering if I missed something. I was skeptical at ep9, wondering how they will conclude things. Maybe there will be a flashback episode explaining things, but no. Ending credits came and there was no new episode.

Me too! The period before the main couple becomes a couple is my favorite. It’s probably the reason why I drop most dramas once the couples get together. The story has ended.

I just realized that I was calling it “Scebt of Love”, instead of “Scent of Time”🫠🫠
Anyways, it has already been dropped

Long post:
My browser always logs me out once I leave the page for a while and while I don’t have a problem with that, it has increasingly become difficult to log into my fan wall.
Actually, it’s also difficult to open the website and it takes three trial to get in. I don’t even bother to login. I just read everything as I guest and leave.
I went through the hurdles of logging in today because I want to talk about the active three (soon to be two as I am dropping one soon) ongoing dramas.
1. Romance in the farm
2. A good day to be a dog and
3. Scent of love(to be dropped).
I have others on my watchlist but they’re bl and I will binge watch them later. I dropped the other dramas as their theme was too serious for me (“My dear” and “Someday or one day”) sorry😩😩
– [ ] Romance on a farm: I love “Romance on a farm”. If never taken note of the two actors before but they’re so natural, cute and funny. The story is not as simple and easygoing as it appears at first glance because that family is nasty(especially the grandma), and I just want to throw them all into a ditch. Yet, the FL is so optimistic and persistent. She doesn’t have a golden finger nor does she have convenient solutions but she try’s really hard to solve her issues. Her friendship/relationship with the ML is so cute. Their rapport is hilarious. He understands and respects her.
– [ ] A good day to be a dog: is so funny. I feel happy while watching it. Probably the filter and the FL. The ML is so much better than when he acted in “My ID is Gangnam beauty”. He was a wood there. In this drama, he is a beautiful plastic. I’ve unwittingly watched all the movies by the FL. She’s a wonderful actress, she disappears into her characters. I love everything about the FL and ML. Their interactions, their personality, their beauty. I suspect the story will get darker soon, but I will keep watching
– [ ] Scent of love: is too stressful for me. It reminds me of “Lost you forever” with the three male leads shenanigans. However, while I loved the endgame in LYF, (Tushan Jing and Xiao Yao) thus having the zeal to finish it, I don’t and can’t like the endgame in SoL. I can’t even be delulu in peace as I don’t see a scenario where she can be with the ML in any timeline. Both in the current timeline and in the past, the FL is the ML’s sis-in-law and no amount of love development will make them get together. Coupled with the fact that out of all three ML, it’s only the bodyguard that she can realistically end up with and can simultaneously give her the life she wants (similar to Tushan Jing), yet, I don’t like their budding relationship. Also, the story tries so hard to make me hate the Second FL, yet all her actions are/were justified. If I had to go through everything she went through, I too would be a full blown villain. No amount of trying to fix past mistakes can change the damage done to the SFL. I understand that the FL is an anti-heroine, therefore her actions are only for her self preservation, yet, the SFL is also justified in any actions she takes henceforth because no amount of pacifying can earn forgive and forget. But I am not sticking around to see SFL’s villain era, nor to see the romance endgame.

What browser are you using? FWIW, I’ve been having lots of problems with Chrome (Windows) recently on a few sites, so I’ve switched almost entirely to Firefox.

One example: in Chrome if I went to
    https://www.dramabeans.com/fan-posts/
it would log me off and not let me log back in while I was on that page, but other corners of DB were ok in Chrome and they’re all ok in Firefox. Chrome has made a lot of changes recently to cookies/ads/trackers, and they have made a total mess of it.

I’m not really conversant with browsers, but I use safari (i don’t know if it uses bing or google) on my phone. That’s where I encounter all the issues as I my phone to login. I have no other browser on my phone.
Therefore, according to your recommendation, I’ve to start logging in from the Firefox in my laptop or download Firefox on my phone?

I started watching “My Dearest” and it’s too sad and intense to binge watch so I’m stuck at ep6. Randomly decided to watch “I am nobody” because it seemed like comedy. Tell me why ep10-11 packed a sucker punch. I was not prepared for that heart wrenching backstory for Feng Baobao. Aside from FBB, The story generally is funny yet entertaining. The ensemble cast is spectacular. It’s interesting to see an intersection between ancient garbs with modern tech. When they told the contestants to scan their lots, I burst out laughing

What about the agent that faked her daughter’s death? The daughter showed up at her funeral. Why is the US trying to kill off the old agents? Who is Ki soo? Elias? What’s the relevance of Bungeaman?

Bungaeman’s sole contribution imho is to make the NK flier have a cool moment at the end … ✋ 🔫

That’s it? It’s over? Noooooo
I still have many questions! Too many threads hanging.
Either way, the heart of the story was the relationships, and I am satisfied with that aspect. Till we meet again #Moving

Such a poignant tribute to how she used to carry him on her back. Now he’s doing the carrying and protecting.

Reminds me about the ending of “Under the Queens Umbrella”, where the queen was finally her son’s umbrella when he became king.

Upon some reflection, some of the subplots in “The lovely Liar” might have some relevance to the overarching story, however, the execution failed to make the necessary emotional impact

Yes. Cinematography is great, but overall direction is less than satisfactory. I could see its potential to be much more impactful emotionally than this. Alas. this is what we got.

So she lost her powers? The writers are really just writing anything at this point. Next thing we know, they will say that Eom ji never died🙄

They handled DC’s storyline very poorly. Very badly done.

Do ha is the ultimate honeypot. Attracting everyone like flies until they become obsessed with him. Such a huuuge burden

In as much as the central plot of “My lovely liar” is interesting, aside from the main actors, every other character’s arc is boring and doesn’t interest me one bit. I ff through all the scenes that are not the main characters.
Which baffles me because they don’t add to the plot. Those bakery and bar owners serve no purpose. Sol hee’s parents add nothing to the plot especially the mum and her numerous dates. Do ha’s mum and her political shenanigans add no substance to the plot. I am exhausted and my fingers ache from ff’ing so much. At this point, I’m watching to see how they will execute the reveal of the murderer.

That random Kopiko PPL in ep8 of “My lovely liar” is so unserious. It totally came out of the left field and smacked me in my face 😩😩😩

With the latest twist in “My lovely liar”, I guess it’s time to continue from where I stopped, keeping in mind the twist and looking out for the signs
