Beanie level: The Goblin’s underpants

So I decided to commit to Prison Playbook, 1.5hr per episode be damned. I mean, who needs to do housework and cooking anyway (🙋🏻 me actually but I’m sure hubby and kids will understand 😆).

Loving the nuanced characters in the show and rooting for everyone (oh, well almost everyone). And here’s my favorite men of the show:

From one mama to another: I marathoned 8 episodes over a 4 day weekend! One day watched 4 episodes, next day did laundry, watched 2 episodes, then the following day housework, then watched 2 more episodes. And that includes 3 lunches for the kids. Luckily I don’t need to cook dinner. 😂

😂😂 How I wish I can escape making dinner. For me, it took me 3 days to binge-watch 12 episodes (which is equivalent to 18 one-hr epi 😱)! Had to cook lunch and dinner but did very minimal housework these 3 days so now heaps of laundry to wash, hang and fold and also there’s plenty of dust and dirt in the house for me to tackle. Oh well, what’s a little sneezing? Builds up immunity, yes? 😆😆

welcome to hellhole of 90 mins and 1 week late subs 😈

Thanks for the warm (I think?) welcome 😄 The 90 mins is so worth it – I can’t seem to get enough of the various characters and their rich stories (I’m sure hubby feels otherwise when he goes home to a messy house but hey, happy wife = happy home 😆) But wae!!?! Wae must the subs be one week late!!?! Damn you, Netflix!

How I spent my Friday morning while watching I’m Not A Robot….followed by upvoting any and every mention of INAR in beanies’ posts. Yup, INAR has taken over my life and my ❤️

We all need some heart light balls to light up our lives right now after the last few episodes.

It’s one of the few shows I’m emotionally connecting with this set of shows too.

Petty and childish Jae-Chan is the best! I like that he is not the suave and perfect hero. He grapples with moral conundrum but chooses to do the right thing in the end. He is petty, vain and immature but these foibles made me love him more because underneath all that, he is a decent human being. Being tall and handsome is a bonus.

Ever the rationale Se Hee but how satisfying it was when he kicked the bike down instead! I mean poor bike, you didn’t do anything wrong but your owner is such a douchebag,

I wanna see how far he can take that rationale

From a shipper’s perspective, hope it’s not too far hehehe

Or maybe from his point of view, falling in love with Ji-Ho is a very rational decision? What’s not to love about her? Even her pettiness didn’t last long

      1

Ooh, that’s a really interesting point you bring up!
If anyone, Se-hee would probably be the one to rationalize his love.
        Hahaha, that would be hilarious.

Looking forward to Se-Hee externalizing his love for Ji-Ho with some fancy algorithm or Venn diagram 😂😂

And also making a convincing ppt to show it off to Ji-ho. ㅋㅋㅋ

Ep 5 has shot Because This Life is Our First right into 1st place in my heart, co-sharing with While You Were Sleeping. Who can resist that crying scene? Mummies are the best (and also Se Hee 😍)

Watched Go Ho’s Starry Nights out of curiosity. Didn’t think I would like it as much as I did. I suppose it’s a foregone conclusion when the show reduced me to giggle, swoon and smile like a teenage schoolgirl reading her first romance book 😁

And I have to say, I totally agree with the female lead’s view. Preaching to the choir, gurl!

    IT’S A CUTE WEE THING ISN’T IT??! (but I’m KYK bias so…)

    1
    1

Yes it is a cute wee thing! 😍

Prior to this show, I can’t stand KYK but I’m warming up to him to the point that I rooted for him to get the girl despite Lee Ji-Hoon’s puppy sad eyes (and I couldn’t forgive him for breaking up with Ho w/out explanation even after finding out the reason why)

And now I’m interested to catch KYK in Lookout – but he has a sad ending right? Now that I like him a little, not sure if I want to get my heart 💔

      1
      1

You couldn’t?? Haha may I ask why?

AHHH BUT YOU MUST WATCH IT DESPITE THE SAD ENDING COS HE AMAZING IN IT. Also the sad ending is sort of expected from the beginning so you have 16 episodes to steel yourself for it (then again, I got far too emotionally attached to that show than normal despite knowing things…)

        1
        1

Are you referring to why I couldn’t forgive puppy eye Lee Ji-Hoon? Coz he didn’t tell her the reason why and secondly his reason for not telling her is so lame. He took away her choice, give her very little credit and most of all, made her behave like a fool, trying to win him back. All in all, he is an idiot (I refuse to acknowledge any nobility in his idiocy).

Ok super fangirl 😁 I will definitely give a Lookout a try. I mean I survived 7 Day Queen, I’m sure I can survive the tragic ending of Lookout. Like you say, I have 16 episodes to steel myself although I’m sure it gets harder after each episode.

          1
          1

I meant why you couldn’t get into KYK previously hahahahahah (sorry I didn’t clarify) but that works too! 😛

            Hahahaha what? me? a super fangirl? nah… I didn’t write 5k words on it when I finished it, no… that didn’t happen… >.> hahaha
Yay! You will try it! And let me know what you think of the ending 😀 😀

Koo Dae-Young: Korean Food Ambassador

The Korean government should just hire him as a spokesperson promoting Korean cuisine at all international food fairs 😆😆

Sang-U-ah, I’m proud of you. You too, Su-Ji! For handling the break-up like proper grown-ups

Today’s guest star is a ubiquitous, staple dish that can be found in any Korean restaurants and synonymous to Korea – Kimchi 😋 I’m glad that the show decided to showcase this humble dish. And, Dae-Young’s friend knows him too well 😆😆

Sang-U-ah, I have liked your character till now so please don’t go all stalker on me, ok? I will chalk it up to the shock of the break-up but you will come to your senses, ok? No going psycho, ok? Mmm… glad we have this talk.

For the curious beanies who are interested to find out a bit more about some of the common banchan (Korean side dishes). My favorite part of eating in a Korean restaurant is definitely the wide array of banchan served as part of the meal (especially if they are free flowing 😁)

Su-Ji seems to be having doubts about her relationship with Sang-U – her heart seems to waver towards Dae-Young while Sang-U’s current actions are driven mostly by insecurity and jealousy. And Dae-Young, is he being a noble idiot? Or just plain idiot? 🤔

For those who loves to cook fried rice at home, Dae-Young has a tip for you. I never knew this about onion but then again I’m still a cooking noob (psst..even though I’ve been cooking for 3 years 😁 oh well, some people are just not cut out for cooking)

Since cooking is no fun for me, I’m impressed that Dae-Young whipped up something quick and easy at Sang-U’s kitchen with just 3 items – eggs, scallion and instant rice (and you don’t even have to microwave the rice first, just dump them in the frying pan) 👍🏼 Sang-U’s fridge looked like mine before I had children 😆

Oh no, is the bromance dead? Can they survive the jealousy and the hurt? 😔😢

And halmeoni, has no one ever told you, curiosity kills the cat!
