    SKJ loves cats.
    Now I’m definitely in love.
    No redemption.

I said I liked actors who love cats, not dramas where the female lead loves a cat/human/cat. (Eww)

I watched season 1, intended to watch season 2 but then completely forgot about it, and how there’s going to be a season 3– and in ONLY A WEEK UNTIL ITS PREMIERE????

    Nice nice 🙂

SOMEDAY OR ONE DAY: What a beautiful ending.

3
2

Somewhere out there is a special 4 minute ending they just filmed and added to the end because some fans leaked the original. But Viki hasn’t added it. Hopefully either Viki will add it or it will show up on YT.

Itaewon Class: I\’m beginning to love this drama. But the title should be \”The Misfits of Itaewon\”. I love it because they\’re all misfits and it\’s an ensemble.

CLOY Finale: Predictable, stretched too thin. Perhaps they were trying to make up for the ambiguous ending of MoA.

Even with Piaoming’s interruptions, this video is so good. Love the duet, their voices blend so well. “Faded”

@pakalanapikake I\’m watching The Golden Eyes and thought of you. It\’s full of how jade is mined, sold at auction, and ancient tombs and finding valuable historical artifacts. Quite interesting.

Took me 10 minutes to remember the word \”Makjang\”. Oh, dear… my daughter and I were discussing a cheesy episode of White Collar and she said it was \”NARM\”. Look it up! Well, here: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Narm

    http://www.dramabeans.com/about/glossary/

The difference I think is that the Makjang definition doesn’t include it being unintentionally funny. It is mostly the witty viewer that finds it funny.

“Narm is a moment that is supposed to be serious, but due to either over-sappiness, poor execution, excessive Melodrama, unneeded use of foul language, or the sheer absurdity of the situation, the drama is lost to the point of surpassing “cheesy” and becoming unintentionally funny.”

    Gosh were they describing Vagabond?

Somehow the word “narm” doesn’t have that oemph factor that “makjang” has….

Did you read the evolution of the word “narm”? It’s pretty funny. Really though, I was posting because I had found a new word – and in the spirit of trying to learn at least one new thing a day, Narm was it. I don’t think narm and makjang are exactly the same, and you’re right makjang has a great oomph factor!

Haha. Yes, I read it. It’s pretty funny.

Thank you for posting this, btw. I love to read these tidbits and learn new things!

Any of you seen the c-drama \”The Golden Eyes\”? Most open-ended ending yet. But I just read someone\’s theory of the ending and it was beautiful so I\’m going with that explanation.

i watched the first ep and was so put off by the FL who made terrible assumptions with zero evidence about the ML. Should i continue?

    1

I know what you mean about the FL in the first episode. That doesn’t last long and they become friends. But that really isn’t what the drama is about. It’s very slow paced and detailed about jade, jade auctions, antiques and their historical significance, all couched in a murder mystery, a supernatural mystery, some dangerous situations. You might find the first 20 episodes or so too boring to continue, but I’m just in the mood right now for something slow paced and detailed. In fact, it’s made me curious about jade and archaeology.

on a scale of 1-10 how open is the ending? 😀 tbh, i only watched it because of lay and was wondering if i should watch till the end…

        1

It depends on what you mean by “open”. If you’re looking for romance, I don’t exactly remember. That isn’t what’s open. It’s a question of whether he lives or dies. BUT, this person’s theory I read explained it really well, and let’s just say (without spoiling) it’s a good ending if you think she’s right. Do you want me to spoil you now or later?
I’m watching for Lay too, I love his ordinary-man character in this drama, laid back, not aggressive, just a really nice guy who gets himself in trouble and ends up with a special power.

@zgs1994 I’m only up to ep 25 on the rewatch so I should wait til I finish it. But I will say it’s very open ended whether he lives or dies, but this person gave a great explanation as to why she thinks he lives. Plus, the show was shortened from 60 to 56 episodes, so we know he would have been in the last 4 anyway.
What’s bugging me right now is his best friend, the chatty one who’s gotten beyond annoying. I’ve started ff thru his scenes.

            0
            0

it’s lay. i dunno if i’ll be able to bear it if it’s open ended like that 😀

            0
            0

@zgs1994 What I’m saying is it only appears to be open ended. When you think a bit, you realize what the outcome had to be, which was a good one. And I’m 95% watching it for LAY – I was surprised I found the antiques and jade bit so interesting.
As far as the rest of the characters, not so much. But I loved how Lay was an ordinary, nice guy, he was a bit too trusting, not a superhero, but I really liked his character a lot.

I\’ve gotten to the point that I actually get angry when people trash Taecyeon.

6
13

I think I have always been at that point. I first saw him in Dream High, and it irritated me a lot that practically everybody in that show was terrible at acting, but some of them got so much love despite it, and Taecyeon got trashed.
I probably wouldn’t have gotten so defensive if it was a normal show, but EVERYBODY was bad in DH, and I have a tendency of getting TOO fair.
It is like I became a fan of his with reverse psychology!!

    2
    2

Yes! There are several actors that I think are terrible but somehow they’re extremely popular. I really want to name who they are, but don’t want to stoop down and trash anyone (for a change).

I still don’t know why he was the second lead and Kim soo Hyun the main lead? I wanted Taecyeon to be the lead.

in our defense, he kinda fit all the tropes of a male lead – i.e. broody, misunderstood, tsundere, etc…

Gosh..is he not getting love for this role? I love him to bits and will admit that he’s not the best actor, but i thought he was ok for this week’s premiere. His lines were a bit off, but that’s due to the writing not his acting.

I must have been emotionally cold today because I knew those scenes were to appeal to our emotions and make us sympathize. I totally understand why you cried though!
