Clothing brand Benetton is launching its “Green Ride Campaign,” with five fashionistas providing the face to their promotional ads: Jung Ryeo-won, above (Ja Myung Go); Gong Hyo-jin (Crush and Blush); Kang Hye-jung (Why Did You Come To My Home?); Choi Kang-hee (My Sweet Seoul); and model-singer Jang Yoon-ju.

As part of the campaign, Benetton will be producing limited edition bikes and “eco” bike bags and T-shirts, which will be sold in stores nationwide and on their website. A portions of proceeds from the campaign will be donated to the Climate Change Center.

It was a sad day when Lee Eon, most known for his role in the drama Coffee Prince, died in a motorcycle accident last August. Now a book is being published posthumously, featuring Lee’s own writing and music, called Twenty-seven, Burying Youth. The model-turned-actor, born Park Sang-min, died at the age of 27.

Also, as February 5 is Lee’s birthday (born in 1981, he would have been 28), family and friends gathered to commemorate the day at a Kangnam café. Attendees included actors Lee Chun-hee (Good Sunday’s Chunderella), Joo Ji-hoon (Antique Bakery), his Coffee Prince co-star Kim Jae-wook, Koyote singer Bbaek Ga, and model Jang Yoon-ju.

Jang Yoon-ju has been one of Korea’s top fashion and runway models for the past eleven years, appearing in all the big name magazines and doing some international work as well.

She’s also releasing her first album as a singer. She’s not a complete newb; she’s expressed her love of music before, and contributed to tracks of other singers’ songs, like the one below for rocker Jung Jae-hyung. She also recently duetted with Lee Hana while recording a cable show, Jang Yoon-ju’s 29.

In conjunction with the album launch, Jang performed at a showcase on November 26; more pictures below the jump.

Cable channel O’live TV hosted its first Style Icon Awards on the night of October 30, and a parade of stars turned out on the “orange carpet” for the event. Held at Club Answer in the upscale Seoul neighborhood of Cheongdamdong, the event awarded select members from not only entertainment sphere to honor as icons, but also some from society and the arts.

Actor Jung Jun-ho (The Last Scandal of My Life) acted as host, and awards were handed out to stars like Rain, above (Style Icon of the Year), Jung Ryeo-won, Park Tae-hwan, Sohn Ye-jin, and more.

Rain – “사랑이라는 건” (The thing called love), from his recent 5th album, “Rainism.” I don’t love or hate the album — the third was really my favorite, and I was not impressed with anything after that — but it has a few nice tracks, like this one (I tend to prefer the songs Rain doesn’t release as singles.)

Now, this is something I’ll be looking out for: Actress Lee Hana and top model Jang Yoon-ju will be displaying their musical skills in an upcoming cable program called Jang Yoon-ju’s 29 on Mnet.

Lee appeared on Jang Yoon-ju’s 29 to converse with the model about acting, music, and marriage. They also had an impromptu duet, with Lee showing off a song she wrote and Jang performing one from her upcoming album, followed by songs by Keren Ann (”Right Now & Right Here”) and Cardigans (”Carnival”).

Lee Hana, the daughter of a songwriter, is by now well-known for her singing ability. Jang Yoon-ju, one of Korea’s most successful models and one of three model-judges of the reality show I Am A Model, is prepping her own solo album and featured her vocals on a song by musician Jung Jae-hyung, which you can listen to here.

The show airs on September 16.
