Yeah I agree Bokshil/Jenifer, who was never my favorite character, is now probably my least favorite character (next to Decoy Guy). She's kind of a jerk: She leads on the Decoy Guy; she blames Deapoong for everything that goes wrong in her life (her car wont start, her coffee is lukewarm, it's raining and she forgot her umbrella... her go to move is to pout and huff "Song Sangnim!"- probably not how you spell or pronounce that but it's how it sounds to me); she's mean to her little sister for the crime of being born to the legal wife. I can kind of understand her issues with her Dad but, come on, he's learned from his mistakes and he's trying to reconcile with her. And hey, lets be real here, her mom is the one who let him keep coming around, even though he was married, but chose to live in poverty instead of letting him help... I'm just saying, you're an adult now, it's time to let it go, Bokifer!

Style Ep 10. I'm a little buzzed with chamisool (chamisool > chuh-um-chuh-rum), but Style Ep 10 is pretty good!

The songs are fun to chill out to, and the amount of over-acting is small.

Fun! Me likee!

Re : Dream, there is no romance? Wahhh that's a relief. I don't want Son Dam Bi gets anyone, either Kim Bum or Joo Jin Moo. And I am expecting more bromance, so yay!

Oooooh that sounds fun! I'd definitely watch that.

Oh but wait, why does LDH want to commit suicide afterwards? Dun dun dun! I can see this being a 22-26 episode drama, with family intrigue and maybe an illness??

He always described as Noona's Dream Romance ( but Hae Jin is also one! - FO's joke )...but which noona who does not fall for his cute wink? I bet that judge's lady does.

@ mishane
ROFL insanely...asians don't have sex

@ the RP thing - disgusting but is it truly too late for justice? B/c of my values/beliefs, he is just scum no matter how many good movies or deeds. I'm just unforgiving. As for the girl, I don't think she will ever have her justice b/c it wasn't granted when the crime was freshly committed. I compare this to the Nazi General who was captured in one of the New England States a few years ago. Clearly he's old and suffers from dementia. Can Jews truly feel satisfied to put him in jail at this point or expect any other form of punishment? My point is - too many years have past. I don't condone his past actions but at this point, just let the man be.

@ the topic of WIAN - I liked Kim Sun Ah w/ the other male lead. The storyline was a bit weak w/ the dad and the historical/archaeological stuff. I wish they did touch base on the love triangle. Yikes! I can't believe I said that openly. I love guys who kiss the leading lady when the lady is clearly in love with someone else. It's even more cliche when she's bandaging the guy up and happens to put the cream on the corner of the mouth which triggers the hot guy to kiss...sorry! I started thinking back on the WIAN episodes.

Happy Friday! I am re-watching Tamna. I am in love with Park Kyu (Im Ju Hwan). I didn't realize the chemistry he had for Beojin developed so early on, like mid episode 3. He's the only sexy stalker I'd like in my life.

I'm stuck at episode #27 because every time I try to watch it on Viikii, I'm blocked. I do plan on finishing it, especially now that I can laugh every time I see "Bokifer".haha:)

"Re: WIAN and MFL
Both have the same writers…."

Yup. Same writers as Winter Sonata and Snow Queen. If you've seen both shows, you'll notice that A LOT of MFL's serious bits resemble scenes from both shows (and uhhh they're not really known for writing support characters.) At some point, probably in reaction to the audience ratings, the show switched over to psuedo-melodrama. Personally, I loved it. But it threw off the tone of the show.

@sex and K-drama,

Ehhhh . . . you guys gotta watch melos on SBS more, especially their weekend schedule. Adultery galore!! :D But, yeah, Song Hye Kyo, at 21 years old, raised a lot of eyebrows when she only wore a bedsheet in All In.

Then there's What Happened in Bali. That show drips, drips with lust.

Bad Love's first episode features a love scene, and both actors look scared that they've accidentally signed onto a Cinemax feature.

What's Up in Fox is kind of a G-rated sex comedy. First half is kind of saucy, again in a Snow White sort of day.

Then, there's Style, which has the hottest couple ever: Chef + Ambiguously Gay Photographer. I gotta be a bad boy. I gotta be a bad, bad boy . . .

But the king of all is Full House, which features so much of Rain's cleavage that it should have been rated MA for Mature. Rain has some AWESOME boobs!!

ahhh you killed off Ahn Suk Hwan!! =*( but then again i made Lee Minki gay... I can totally see your story as one of those romantic melodramas, like Green Rose- mostly cuz Lee Da Hae was in it and i remember one of the previews having a bridge.

"She tells him that he is now responsible for getting her safely to her house. "
=DD Korean kdrama characters are always holding people responsible for something-especially in the situation where the girl holds the guy responsible for something small. times like these i feel especially bad for korean guys in kdramas.

"They're real, and they're SPECTACULAR!"

Unfortunately, I will not be able to lurk and join in the conversations as much as I would like this week. The Internet has been schizo this last several days and I'll have to pack for our trip back to Hawaii tomorrow.

To those in Sumatra, Philippines and Samoa, hope everything is well. And Happy Chuseok and Mooncake Festival to those celebrating.

Happy OT Friday/Moon Festival/Chuseok everyone
@langdon813 and @mishane: THANKS you guys, just what I needed today since work was ....crazy. I couldn't stop laughing while I was reading the OT , and my hubby just gave me that "look".

@chajjye : Thanks for the headers. They are soooo good. It took me 27 refresh before I got CH (@langdon813, I kept getting LMK!!! and I kept saying to the laptop"save that for langdon, he he)

@lovenyc52 I don't know if you checked OT102; so did you see this week NCIS? I was thinking "C'mon, are you guys(Tony/Ziva) gonna kiss or what???"

@sex in kdrama: ummmm except in Coffee Prince, I have seen -NONE. I mean, I have watched Goong 2x and yet couldn't figure how and when YEH got preggo.
But then, how could any sex happens when kdrama actors/actresses can't kiss, even if their lives depend on it (MFL- you call that a kiss or lip touching????)

@WIAN I saw this before CH and I loooove KSA . I felt ,though, she just like me at work- physically present, but that's about it( ummm, I'm not like that alllll the time-because people's health is at stake, here. he he). Anyway, I didn't like the drama because the chemistry and plot were both lacking ( personal opinion , here)

@langdon813 Please correct me if I'm wrong, but do you think JIW in ROI reminded you of Prince Shin of Goong?

EXCITING STUFF. But the downside was that I couldn't catch up with all the k drama goodness the whole time. I WILL get back to watching dramas soon.

Anyway, love all the comments here! I'm more of a lurker but I just had to pop up and say that it's been a blast reading OT #102/ 103, terribly funny and amusing comments. Particularly You're A Greasy Fairy - LOLOL many times over.

You know, with this being Kim Sun Ah Weekend, it's time to repost the Nonstop 5 parody of My Name is Kim Sam Soon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaetmCgwZqI&fmt=18

@cingdoc,

"But then, how could any sex happens when kdrama actors/actresses can’t kiss"

Immaculate conception people. It's in the 11th Commandment of K-drama, right next to the 10th Commandment "Thou shalt not have white pianos on a beach. Oh no you didn't Kwon Sang Woo, oh no you didn't!!"

My pick for this year's best kisses would go to Choi Ji Woo + Yoo Ji Tae in Star's Lovers. So much so that there was buzz that maybe there really was something going on between them. ;)

Personal Pick for Hottest K-drama Couple would definitely go to Jo In Sung/Ha Ji Won. Whether it's commercials or What Happened in Bali, there's a big "Stella!!!!!" vibe between them.

The thing about JIS is that in Bali (and One Spring Day) he gets away with being a world class QUEEN. JIS isn't sexual at all; he's like this screaming, screaming child in Bali, and Ha Ji Won turns into a kind of whore mother figure for him. It's not so much he wants to sleep with her, it's like he wants to enter her womb. Yet, THAT is very sexual. Their relationship in the show is repulsive, yet addicting.

Did you watch the Bollywood Movie "Jab We Met"? Maybe you should because they seem to have stolen the plotline of your lifestory as romantic movie. Of course they used Indian actors but as far as I can see from your synopsis you should really sue them... :-) ROFL

There just aren't any stories that haven't been told. Here is the summary, the mother conflict has been left out but it is in there somewhere:

Aditya (Shahid Kapur), a defeated industrialist, is even more broken as the girl he loves is getting married. Unable to muster up the courage to return home, he drifts out of the gathering and aimlessly boards a train, bounding away into the night.

As destiny would have it, on the train he meets Geet (Kareena Kapoor) - a beautiful but annoyingly talkative girl who is leaving Mumbai to go her hometown - Bhatinda (Punjab). Later, she has plans of eloping with her boyfriend.

Geet irritates Aditya to the point of getting him to leave the train. As she tries to get him back on the train, she ends up missing it and the two find themselves stranded on a desolate station with no luggage or money.

Begins the idyllic journey through the exuberant North Indian heartland in which this odd couple will make their way through buses and taxis and camel-carts, crossing Highways and deserts and lakes, meeting all kinds of people, to reach her house in Punjab ....... On arrival, Geet's family mistakes the two for lovers. Before this misconception can be cleared, Geet escapes to her boyfriend in Manali. Aditya leaves with her, confirming the suspicion that they are lovers. In Manali, Aditya feels empowered to return to Mumbai and resurrect his ailing business.

Life takes a positive turn and Aditya begins to do well. One day Geet's family who think that she is with him confronts Aditya. He is shocked to learn that Geet has not returned home. He takes it upon himself to find her. He finally tracks her down in a Himalayan town and begins another journey to reach Bhatinda and flow into the colors and conceptions of a loud and happy North Indian family!

How their separate journeys become one, forms the destination of JAB WE MET, a beautiful and captivating saga of made-for-each-other love. Lilting, musical, amusing and packed with mischievous contrivances - this breezy fun-filled romantic comedy set in cultural North India looks like it's ready to recreate the magical era of the 90s, in the form of Aditya and Geet, being essayed by real-life lovebirds, Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor.

But cheer up: Obviously, your story was a box office hit!!!

Happy open threat everyone...
I'm actually very sad right now, for the second time within less than 2 months Indonesia was struck by a huge eartquake.
This time is even worse, nearly 600 people died in the Wednesday quake that hit West Sumatra.
As a journalist I had to forget the fact that I haven't been able to make contact with some of my friend and onw of my cousin.
I have to cover the disaster and report the stories among the rubbles and the decaying corpses.
It was horrible...
I sincerely wish that everybody in OT will pray for thousands West Sumatrans still trapped under the ruins
And any kind of donation is deeply needed and appreciated, you can google it and find out of how you can help the victims.
Thanks peeps...

Ps: I can't answer all the recasting your life question, but for the true love I'll go for Kim Ji Hoon.

OMG, I just saw Kim Bum's name on Twitter too and it scared me to death! I immediately went to the dark side, thinking something bad had happened to him. My heart is still pounding...how ridiculous is that? Jeez. ;-)

Funniest tweet I saw was:

"Why is "Kim Bum" a trending topic? Did Kim Kardashian's ass make news again?"

HA!!

@169 cingdoc

LOL at the Lee Min-ki (MINE) banner stalking you. I did finally get the CH banner late last night. YAY! So gorgeous.

And as for Jung Il-woo, he didn't really remind me of Prince Shin while I was watching ROI, but now that you've said that, I can see it. It's the hair!

One thing about ROI that I don't think I ever commented on is how amazing it is that JIW (who is, what, 22 in real life?) so convincingly portrayed Iljimae from the age of 16 to over 30 using no makeup, no tricks, just a fantastic performance. Of course, the Mane of Glory didn't hurt one bit.

Langdon I haven't laughed this hard in weeks. I'm sick in bed and reading the OT and I almost choked on my hot tea. After few minutes later and I got my calm back I read mishane's post. Its like a 1-2 punch.

This is then followed up by decoy guy, piano on beach and bokifer--laughter is the best medicine for a head cold and for a broken body.

On a more serious note

I really ache for the tragedy in Indonesia. I was reading about all the missing people and huge number of deaths. I'm not sure how much it will help but I plan on donating some money hoping it will actually go to real aid but even if it doesn't is better than doing nothing from so far away.

On the Polanski thing. I admire his art but I don't admire the man. There is an excellent long piece that I read on salon that will either add more fuel to the fire or clarify for people what the facts are.

So two articles recently about dramas with weird writing! I'm glad I haven't invested much time in them...(Heading to the Ground and My Fair Lady) I'm too busy watching these 50+ episode dramas! Bokifer.... oh man. In the beginning Bok-shil/Jennifer was endearing.. now.... I could care less what happens to her. :/

To all you MiSA watchers, do yourself a favor and check out the first three episodes of Smile, You. It's got Jung Kyung Ho and Lee Kyu Han and they both desperately need to eat a hamburger. Aside from that it's pretty fun. Today's episode (3) had some great scenes. I'm currently wondering who will reign supreme dork of 2009, Hyun Soo from Smile, You or Sung Pung from Sons of Sol Pharmacy....

this is for JB regarding the comment about the lame lamer lamest kiss in MFL. I laughed so hard not because of MFL but because you brought up about Full House. Now when I first started kdrama I saw My Girl and I was surprise how advance the kiss was (mind you, I'm thinking in asian drama as to very conservative kiss). So when I watched Full House I thought oh no same old same old. And when I google about the main lead actors I was surprise that Rain was so famous but didn't know how to kiss(lol). So thank goodness now I know that's not the case it was only in that drama. "My pick for this year’s best kisses would go to Choi Ji Woo + Yoo Ji Tae in Star’s Lovers. So much so that there was buzz that maybe there really was something going on between them."

Perchance, have you finished/continued watching City Hall after episode 1? I'm not curious whether you liked it, but need to know so that I can rate this post against whether you've watched CH yet and gotten to the kissing scenes.

I think CJW-YJT is up there, for sure. CJW is very lucky that she's pretty much got a rotating stable of mature, sexy k-drama men to co-star with. YJT is no exception, and I thought her chemistry with him was credible and genuine. I enjoyed A Star's Lover at the end of day, for the cinemetography and the pretty sweet romance between the two, the plot notwithstanding.

However, the kisses in A Star's Lover was very good, but I don't think it's the best for me in 2009. ;-) A certain kiss in the car at dawn pretty much sealed the deal for me, I think I glimpsed tasteful tongue, and that was awesomely advanced for a k-drama!

"Personal Pick for Hottest K-drama Couple would definitely go to Jo In Sung/Ha Ji Won. Whether it’s commercials or What Happened in Bali, there’s a big “Stella!!!!!” vibe between them."

Hottest k-drama couple - sigh, Ha Ji Won and Jo In Sung, after I finished WHIB, I went on a massive youtube search for those two, and discovered their many commercials (fave being the Mise En Scene ones), and these two have got crazy chemistry together.

I don't know if they are the "hottest" couple for me, I haven't thought much about that category, but they are definitely up there. The possession, jealous angst, power struggle, HJW-JIS showed me what it was like to "desire" and "covet" the other person, as opposed to the chaste, I love you cuz I don't want to see you cry, poor baby, love lines we normally see in k-dramas. This was raw, unflinching I-want-to-grab-you-and-scr*w-you-senseless type of vibe, and that was hot indeed. Good choice!

Happy moon festival, everyone, I'm home with all the extended fam! My deepest hopes goes out to everyone affected by the earthquakes and flooding. Taiwan recently has a horrible typhoon that caused an entire village to be buried under a landslide with hundreds dead, and it breaks my heart to see it happening so soon elsewhere.

@sojisup: if only my eyes could twitter my hatred for you kanye.
@lamarodom: anayheso. i'm getting married to the wrong Kardashian!! help me kim bum!!

@ockoala ,
"I think CJW-YJT is up there, for sure. CJW is very lucky that she’s pretty much got a rotating stable of mature, sexy k-drama men to co-star with. YJT is no exception, and I thought her chemistry with him was credible and genuine.

Oh see that's the thing. In a couple of scenes, there's some "hmm" hankie-pankie where YJT is kinda tickling CJW beneath the sheets, and CJW is kinda like "stop giggle giggle . . ." None of it was in the script. ;)

I'm about to continue City Hall and I may just use the OT thread as an out-loud journal.

@ 190 anonymous

Dear ockoala, you don't need to 'come out', hehe. I just know it's you when reading that post about a certain kiss inside the car at dawn!

After checking out the current dramas this weekend I have to admit that I really need some romantic fare. You know, something where you need rubber boots to wade through romance, tragedy, laughter and tears like "Next stop happiness" with some serious eye-candy and/or something that promises to be a mixture between Boys before Flowers and Coffee Prince like "You're beautiful". I don't mind if it needs me to switch off my brain first, I just want to FEEL.

On the downside, if these two are good, I will probably once again get addicted very fast and start to only exist between the air times of the dramas and we all know how that goes...

And, of course, there will be IRIS. At least one of those dramas should be good.

@hjkomo
About 4 days after you told me about Dr. Horrible the german website I visit for those kinds of news had an article on it. They seem to be a bit behind you informationwise... :-)

Have a nice week everybody!

Hey, has anyone been watching Queen Seon Duk? I recently just started watching this drama and I'm literally at the edge of my seat for every episode...at least so far (I'm on 18). Wow, the acting is superb!

And Uhm Tae Woong is the cutest :)
