The Witch is Alive: Episode 11 (Drama Hangout)

Behold, your weekly Drama Hangout! We might not be covering this drama, but that doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be a place to talk about it, whether that’s squealing with excitement or piling on the analysis.

This thread is exclusively for this week’s episodes and anything prior, so let’s try to keep it as a place to chat about what’s aired — not spoil future plot points for unsuspecting eyes.

Where can a person check out this drama with English subtitles. It keeps not being there on my normal haunts.

I have said this before, these husbands are really, really, really hard to kill. Less laughs this week and more dark angst.

The only bright moment this week was Doc’s daughter visiting Hee-Soo at the hospital. Mu-Young finally got her to the hospital, but his anger and treatment demands over Hee-Soo’s wishes brands him an irreversible jerk.

Jin-A got lucky in cleaning up her grubby spouse-gangster-insurance fraud-stock scam men in her life, but dumping a sack of money in the harbor is not going to re-set her life to her past happy, easy going lifestyle. Her hubby is dumb enough to bring her down with him.

I don’t know if Ma-Ri got lucky about Nak-Gu having more lives than a cat. Her not reaching out to her daughter was a major mistake--- and that did not get resolved at all. That bugged me. And her "negligent homicide" confession was either guilt or she is losing her marbles. Again, a crazy Lee Yuri is her acting at her best.

The backstory of the Oracle now makes some sense. She took the fall for a family member. It was funny that she created the Death Note website for women to vent, but the police were too shocked to charge anyone after interviewing a series of proud widows.

I really do not mind the once-a-week format for this show. But I just realized the finale is this week.

The show's early premise was the three female leads would encounter a divorce, a murder and a pregnancy. Throughout the series, the writer juggled those outcomes perfectly between all three characters and their husbands. Only one outcome is clear: Hee-Soo got her divorce even though Nak-Gu is still forcing one on Ma-ri. All three ladies had a chance to murder their husbands but that was interrupted by the gangsters looking for the stolen stock funds. As for a pregnancy, Hee-Soo's dream, seems to be a real long shot now. The only long shots now based upon past scenes is either Jin-A or Go-Eun, neither which I see as good single mother material.

Looking forward to the finale.
