Sung Hoon and Jung Yoo-min join hands in A Perfect Marriage

Another webtoon adaptation is in the works over at MBN, and the show’s first teaser hints at a melodramatic revenge story. Starring Jung Yoo-min (Celebrity) and Sung Hoon (Woori the Virgin), A Perfect Marriage is about a woman wanting revenge against her family, and in order to do so, she enters a contract marriage.

The teaser gives a brief introduction to its main cast, starting off with Seo Do-gook (Sung Hoon). Staring intently at his leading lady Han Yi-joo (Jung Yoo-min), Do-gook asks if she really does not know or if she is pretending to not know. His description says, “The man helping Han Yi-joo’s revenge.”

The teaser then hints at Yi-joo’s motivation, and we see her husband Oh Se-hyuk played by Oh Seung-yoon (Blind) confess his love to her younger sister Han Yoo-ra, who is played by Ji Jin-hee (Penthouse 3). Yi-joo also gets slapped across the face by her stepmother, and in voiceover, she says, “I’m family, too.”

Next in the lineup is Kang Shin-hyo (Insider) as Seo Do-gook’s jealous half-brother Seo Jeong-wook. He walks out in front of a crowd of protesters while using a cane, and then he sits in his office with a grim expression as he wonders what kind of woman changed Seo Do-gook.

Moving on to the next terrible sibling, the teaser shows Han Yoo-ra (Ji Jin-hee), the younger sister of Yi-joo who looks down her. With a fire in her eyes, she berates someone for not knowing their place.

Last but not least is Yi-joo’s contemptuous stepmother Lee Jeong-hye played by Lee Min-young (The Witch is Alive). Leaning over an unconscious Yi-joo, Jeong-hye whispers in her ear, “Yi-joo, in your next life, don’t live so kindly.” The teaser then shows a brief glimpse of Jeong-hye facing off with Cha Eun-ha played by Lee Mi-sook (Family: The Unbreakable Bond).

Staking everything on the line for revenge, we see Yi-joo rip her wedding dress, and later on, she confronts her stepmother, warning her to stop provoking her. The text on screen says, “To get revenge on my family who threw me away, I chose this man.”

Directed by PD Oh Sang-won (Love ft. Marriage & Divorce III) and written by Im Seo-ra (Feel Good to Die), MBN’s A Perfect Marriage is set to premiere October 28.

Sung Hoooooon! I’ve missed this guy! Last saw him in the highly delightful Woori The Virgin which I watched a few months back for the first time (God, I loved everything about that drama but it looks like it kinda flew under the radar here). His acting has GREATLY improved and I can see him looking less self-conscious with more roles (compared to when I first saw him in FAITH).

Here I was, happy that I’ll get to just sit down, laugh and aww to the cute looking story since he seems to be the Male Lead with no love triangle or confusion, it turns out IT’S A MELO. Urgh!🤦🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️

👋welcome to the beanie community, I hope you have fun here.
So the burning question is do you take a hit for the team and watch him despite the genre e.g fast forward around his scenes or save yourself and just look for the screen captures in the weecaps?

The picture and title gave me false hopes too! It all went downhill from melodramatic revenge..

Lol, Welcome to the beanie community in deed, well I'm glad you missed the commentary on Woori, because most of us who watched it disliked that drama, but I'm glad you did. I look forward to your comments.

Lols, I did take a peep at the Woori recaps here, but it was so underwhelming and/or negative, I ran quickly away (didn’t want anything to dampen my enjoyment😂🙌🏾).

It seems like a lot of the negativity stems from the fact that Im Soo Hyang draws some kinda repelling reaction from veiwers here😂 I thought she was PERFECTLY cast! It was my first time seeing her in anything, I believe.

You aren't a new beanie though, are you? I'm sure I've seen your name quite a lot around the site.

Correct!🤗🤗

I was more active in 2017. You can find me all over the On The Way To The Airport recaps or commenting very late after the show is over in Sassy Go Go recaps😂

That’s weird as usually the comments that were greyed out are counted in with your comments once registered that’s why some beanies have high comment numbers and are still at a Candy beanie level. I wonder if you changed something so the old account with your previous comments has not been linked with this one. We have a few lurkers who have registered so we welcome all newbies if we spot them in the comments sections. We know it takes a lot for some beanies to transition to actively commenting.

Maybe my email address? Idk🤷🏾‍♀️
I don’t mind either. Looking at those grey comments will be a nice throwback for me.

Noble, My Love and My Secret Romance are amongst my favorite select rewatchs.
I just selectively rewatch certain scenes only because there are serious issues with both dramas but that but should not impact my enjoyment of heart fluttering otp moments, right right??!!

The perfect rewatch strategy for those dramas where you just can't sit through everything again! I use it often myself, lol.

Standard strategy of all true K-drama addicts (perhaps life too) ... keep the feels let go of the riff-raff! 😀 🤣

It's weird to see child actor acting adult role sometimes, Jin Ji-Hee grew up.

Ohh, this is based on My Perfect Marriage Revenge! I liked that webcomic but I ended up dropping it because it got a little boring. The drama looks waaaay more melodramatic and dark, which works for the storyline. Anyway, I'll probably watch this. If it's like the comic it'll have a sweet romance.
