Beanie level: The Goblin’s underpants

Sorry for laughing at you, Jin Young Tae 😂, when you just barely recovered from being stabbed twice😅… Blame them for giving you female patient gown 🤣🤣🤣, and letting Bon take care of you. 🤣🤣🤣

glad to see he survived, he’s my favorite character in this nonsense drama x) scaredy cat-funny-evil(?)-ceo guy Jjang !

He’s one of my favorite too. Actually, I like the KIS and him more and more into the drama. :)))

KIS ajumas manage to chase away NIS spies in no time. I’m not surprised. No spy wears suit, sit still looking around in daytime like them. Wish they’ve learned some “role-play” skills from Joon-Joon.

I might sound like broken record but Joon – Joon are just too cute to handle!😍 How sweet of them to take care of him like that? ☺️Aww…They massage his hand and put bandages on his wounds. 😍😍😍😍

My writing skill is nowhere good and this is just a very impulsive writing after running across an article on High Kick 2. So for this month theme of writing an Epilogue of a drama.. (more in comment)

I decided to write about what happens after the car accident and expand more on what Jung Eum and Joon Hyuk talk about when they meet after 3 years…

    1. Ji Hoon drives Se Kyung to the airport. Se Kyung confesses her feelings but Ji Hoon calmly refuses her and he tells her that she has always been his good niece and he hopes her well when living aboard. Despite that, Se Kyung (selfishly) hopes that everything can stop right there. We know that they then get into a deadly accident and cannot survive… Everything does stop at that moment for Se Kyung. Unfortunately, Ji Hoon who wanted to run to Jung Eum and make up with her, can never fulfill his wishes.
Life goes on for the rest of them.
Jung Eum sobs for days after hearing Ji Hoon’s death. It’s months until she finally picks herself up and determines to not let Ji Hoon down. She prepares applications and interviews to become English teacher at her hometown, where she now lives with her parents. It’s difficult for her to find jobs at first with her specs, and that she lacks of experiences. She spends day time going around applying or doing part time jobs and evening time to do tutor.
Joon Hyuk moves out to study at Jung Eum’s university – Seoun University, and unsurprisingly majored in English teaching. His family is happy enough that he even gets to enroll in a university, completely forget that this is same school Jung Eum went to, that they feel cheated when she confesses that she is not a Seoul University graduate. Joon Hyuk calls Jung Eum to inform her that he moves to dorm and starts his student life now. And they jokingly make fun of each other (that Jung Hyuk is now a Seoun University student just like Jung Eum before, and that Jung Eum runs away from Seoul but still jobless) until they solemnly wish their loved ones are alive and with them now. Joon Hyuk always thinks that Ji Hoon Uncle could have persuaded his mom and the family, and she should just have relied on him. They get teary and silent until Joon Hyuk trying to be tough boy, saying goodbye and wishing his teacher to find a good job asap.

    2. They keep in touch and once in a while meet during Ji Hoon’s death anniversary,…
Jung Eum then has a difficult senior high school student for her tutor job, who really reminds her of Joon Hyuk. Again, she dedicates to win against her student’s stubbornness. She makes him pay attention to English and tries hard to help him with a fair grade in university test. The parents truly appreciate her efforts with their son. Knowing her wish, they let her know that there is an empty spot as office staff in an English center and think she should apply. She does and gets in to work as office staff for more than 1 year there before the center announces that they need an English teacher. Yes, Jung Eum applies and succeeds finally.
She calls Joon Hyuk to tell him the good news and he decides to come visit her. We see them together catching up 3 years after that horrible accident…

    3. After talking about each other, Jung Eum updates Jung Hyuk that her friends are doing very well in Seoul and they will have a BBQ during Chuseok this year. Jillian is now working for an NGO and gets to travel a lot around Korea and Asia. In Na is getting more successful as a solo artist now that she quits singing and becomes an actress. Jung Hyuk agrees, he can never realize how beautiful In Na is until she joins that sageuk. Kwang Soo is the most troublesome! Jung Eum complains to have to listen to his many drunk calls from him after In Na’s co male lead confess to her in their drama Premier event. He said he hates her becoming In Hyun Queen! Luckily, their relationship stay strong even in the crazy K-showbiz world.
Jung Hyuk also informs Jung Eum how he gets tired of He Ri pestering Se Ho to become her husband. Se Ho is now Seoul University Student President. He’s famous for his dance skills, his gentle manners, … and finally finds his passion as a writer. Jung Eum jokingly says she feels glad that Se Ho fails his various audition attempts to become a member of that Beast group, or else he would have had a fandom now, and wonders how He Ri would react.
Hye Ri is still annoying sometimes but she really takes good care of their youngest brother like a real mom. Their parents are super busy at work to take care of the baby much. Hyun Kyung (mom) won her President of Teacher Union run last year, and now fights even more with Ja Ok grandma and their School Principal. Bo Suk (dad) just quit his Vice Director position last month, as he realizes he causes less harm for the company in their Kitchen Lab, and Grandpa trusts him to create new recipes, new dishes. That’s why the baby is on Hye Ri’s hands now. But Hye Ri is getting stranger as she grows… She is in high school now and starts to eat veggies instead of meat to keep diet. Weirdest thing is that Jung Hyuk once hears from his Mom that Hye Ri’s current dream is to work for a Kindergarten, she said she loves kids!
And then the drama spans to “10 years later…”.

    4. Se Ho and Jung Hyuk talk casually about their High school Reunion and get reprimanded by Grandpa and Ja Ok grandma for not using “jondaemal”. They should show respects to each other as brother-in-laws, they are no longer “just friends”.
Hye Ri runs from kitchen to announce that dinner is ready and everyone is excited to join the table with like 10 dishes all made from her with little help from Mom and Shin Ae. Yes, Shin Ae finally returns to Seoul to join Hye Ri’s wedding and have a 2 week holiday here. She is now applying to work for the NGO that Jullian is now the Vice President.
Then Jung Hyuk gets a call from Jung Eum, who says she will visit Seoul tomorrow. She hopes to visit Ji Hoon with Joon Hyuk tomorrow as she has something important to inform both of them… and Jung Hyuk knowingly says he is happy to see her tomorrow… The end…

    5. After credit of Epilogue:
Se Ho is doing an interview for his “High Kick 2” drama reception and the controversial decision to stay true to reality to “kill off” Ji Hoon Uncle and Se Kyung.
Se Ho replies that he was just as heart-broken as the Lee family when he heard of the news. He knows he will get scolded from audience for writing off their favorite character. His wife once asked him to write a happy ending for her uncle, but he just could not… He’s been there with them when they grieved and tried to recover… and through all that, the family bonds more and grows more understanding. That the only happy ending he could only think of. He can not write that Ji Hoon uncle is still alive and make decisions for Uncle instead. He hope the audience will understand his writing choice.
The reporter then asks Se Ho for Joon Hyuk and Jung Eum’s ending. Se Ho informs them that Joon Hyuk is dating but keeps it very quiet. He doesn’t even meet the girl. Jung Eum noona is doing well in her hometown. That’s what he heard from Joon Hyuk though. Everytime they plan to meet Jung Eum noona, his wife doesn’t want him too. Haha… But he hopes that Jung Eum noona will always be bright and positive wherever she is…

This is part 1 of their mukbang just in case anyone might need!
I love to see them together like this, even Chorong behind the camera is very sassy.
And PLS WATCH EUNJI’S COMEBACK if you haven’t!

Bomi’s mukbang.
It’s too funny to watch this alone.
Bomi burps and convinces Eunji that’s it’s ok if you want to be youtuber and they will just remove sounds while Chorong complains behind camera! =)

Go Ae Rin being nosy and intrusive is really annoying! It’s a turn off to me that she is just too much!

3

I guess JIS is good with this type of character; her other character in Waikiki was a little bit of nosy type too.

    1
    1

I admire her for being perceptive and intelligent. But not for being nosy and intrusive.
No matter how curious she is, she should not go that far!
Not to mention the whole spy situation around her is too messy for her to be that careless (to her children)!

      4
      0

Same! I was incredibly annoyed. I really don’t get why she went that far and why it matters to her. If she fears for her children’s safety, just stop trusting him and look for someone else! Why does it matter what her boss, co-worker, and ex-nanny were up to?

    And Shin Rina, too!!!
My first drama with this little girl in it was “Marriage Contract” with Uee and Lee Seo Jin, and oh my goodness, all three of them together really, truly did seem like a real family

    2
    1

“Marriage contract” is not that “hype” but I really like Shin Rina! The cute little girl wins herself a dad there! I really love all three of them together!

      1
      1

Oh, yea, “Marriage Contract” was never one of those hype-driven dramas. In the words of @Saya , who was one of the main recappers of “Marriage Contract”, it was a quiet drama from beginning to end, but the stories, messages and the lessons that were told through that drama made PROFOUND impact, taught the viewer(s) deep, insightful, and poignant lesson, and gave us a type of heroine that we don’t see in dramas very often: She has a deadly prognosis, but she didn’t choose to live like a dying person– but to live “… fabulously, stylishly, and kicking ass — and that makes all the difference.”

        I love love love it!!!!!

        2
        1

You made me want to rewatch those beautiful scenes from Marriage Contract. I love the bond between Daughter and Mom (Uee suprised me a lot, people are skeptical of her being a mom and a pair with Lee Seo Jin at first, but that scene when she removes her makeup, and sobs with her best friend… urggg… T_T). Then I love how Uncle dislikes Daughter at first, but falls head of heels for Daughter genuinely…. Those are always my favorites!

          2
          1

3. I never thought Defendant actually shows us how a prisoner can escape jail before court appeal. But it turns out really persuasive!
And Jung Woo can never get out without help from his “roomates”.

    Pictures from Dramabeans recaps.
My favorite scenes from this drama must be the six of them interact.
From this set of pictures, a personal memorable scene is when they get caught planning to escape by Old man, Room head, Rockfish. Then Jung Woo shows them his daughter’s name tag… and gets their supports to make his plan happens…. I sobbed!

    2
    1

I remember when I watched this how nerve-wracking the whole prison escape thing was …… particularly when he was just “practicing” the escape!

      2
      2

That’s why the show is persuasive to me. He gathers information through his volunteers at the prison, Mong chi also plans for his escape long time to make maps. And he did try to escape once but unsuccesful, and then practice his 2nd route many times…

        2
        0

The practices were incredibly nerve-wracking. They were brilliantly filmed. And it didn’t make the final escape feel repetetive at all. Quite the contrary, every second and step of it gave me a thrill of triumph!

        2
        1

True said! Everytime he checked on the route, there will be hiccups that scare the hell out of me. I always hope Tae Soo will appear in the nick of time to cover for him and it turns out fine!

I LOVED this drama. The only little bit of gripe I had was that Ji Sung seemed rather too cheesey to me during the last episode. I tried to ignore him for the hour, which was a little disappointing, because he is a favorite of mine and I loved the rest of the drama.

    1
    1

Oh do you mean he gets teary too much during the court scene and when he visits Ji Soo with Ha Yeon? 😀
I wish there are more scenes of him chasing the chaebols, or winning over the judge (who is clearly bought by the law firm) in the last ep.

      1
      1

No… It’s just that his contented and satisfied smile seemed a bit fake… Or too cheesey… Ignore me 😅 he truely is one of my most favorite actors. I just wish he could replicate the beautifully contented smile he gives his wife in dramas 😅

What a set of supportive and loyal friends Jung Woo gets in his most difficult time!

This is KIM MIN SEOK. 1st watched him (very raw) in Descendants of the Sun, then Doctors and BTIOFL, all have good ratings. Then he totally won me over in Defendant! Looking forward to his new works!

Yes! It was the first thing I saw him in. He was so tiny there. I thought he was 15 😅

      Plus, bonus Min-ki!

Lee Min-Ki! I came in not knowing what to expect and when the truck of doom showed up, I googled the show quickly and was seriously sad he was just a cameo. But the show proved to be a good watch even with just that though I did miss his guyliner eyes so bad!

I also wants to tribute to Dramafever youtube channel today!
Not a subscriber of the site, as it is not available in my country.
But I have been subscribed to their youtube channel for so long…

9
2

… I watched their funny cuts, highlighted scenes, behind the scenes stuff, with nice and lovely Engsubs all the times. I watched Goblin and Jealousy cuts again and again. And I sometimes watched cuts from airing dramas that I only read recaps. Lots to trailer and cuts and special videos, they grouped them into playlists, easy for fan to browse and play everything together….
And I’m bewilded to see that Dramafever youtube channel of 4 million subscribers has NO VIDEO today… common’!

    3
    0

Sorry for the rants but I don’t like Kocowa and can not take them as replacement for Dramafever channel. I don’t want to be mean but their cuts are annoying, they cut off their video right when it gets to highlighted parts! The clips are too short!!! And their playlists are confusing. They are not focused in dramas but shows, musics, etc… but not all channels covered… This is not right……………….. *Sigh*

What do you think about The Third Charm?
Surprised to see screencaps for Lee Yoon Ji and Yang Dong Geun, I loved them long time ago and haven’t seen them for a while! And Esom is great from BTIOFL…

I’m just not that into Seo Kang Joon (am I the rare one?). That’s why I haven’t picked it up…
It does not really about him tbh, just that his characters always made me feel off… I watched him in Cheese (due to the script that made him more presence than male lead) and Are you human too (due to concept of the story)… and I’m not sold at all…

Contrary to many reviews I’ve read, I love it! I relate to Young Jae on so many levels, until I realised that in the show, her birthday is the 1st of August, meaning she’s a Leo and I’m one too.

Side note: never noticed those pictures you posted before. So are they hinting that Young Jae’s boss and Brother would become a pair?

IU and Eunji can do dramas every Summer, come back on stages only in Spring and Fall, and then rest well and warm during winter and I’m totally fine!
Btw, Eunji’s 3rd album will be released tmr!
