Beanie level: Noble idiot

Also, looking at people squeeing over the actor Kim Seon Ho. Gurl, wait till you see him in the short drama You Drive Me Crazy. 😉

There were a few parts that were a liiiittle bit creepy but it’s not too bad even for me, as someone who hates horror shows.

Omg he’s actually still in high school?!? GASP. Were there signs and did I miss them. #DoDoSoSoLaLaSol

Ok so. I think I’ll just stick to reading spoilers of Record of Youth on Twitter then.

Another thing I really liked about #DoYouLikeBrahms was that we got a lot of Song Ah’s story. Lots of times the female lead’s story is underdeveloped. Her thoughts and dreams and growth.. YAAAAAS!

I love the relationship between Han Ji Pyeong and Grandma. <3

Thoughts on the first episode of StartUp: I like the story of these 3 already, and am ready to watch a tale just about the 3 of them. But. I will hold my judgement.

I’m very tempted to drop #RecordOfYouth. 🙁 I’ll wait till later in the week to watch tomorrow’s episode.

I actually paused #DoYouLikeBrahms to type this because the show was getting slow and I got distracted. 😭

Read an interview somewhere that the #DoYouLikeBrahms director said that the 2nd half of the show will show if what SA and JY have is love. Please let it be love!!

I mean if it isn’t love, then this show sucks.

When Joon Young asked Song Ah what she thought of his piano playing and she said he sounded like someone who plays often at competitions, and his face fell and he got triggered… My heart dropped.

12
1

And he doesn’t like to show people when he’s not ok.. he pushed his feelings back inside again coz they still met afterward all happy and smiley. ugh 🙁 Joon Young.. please confide in Song Ah soon!!

    4
    0

I’m sorry, but somehow I don’t buy Joon Young’s confession. 🙁 it’s good that he clarified why he’s playing for Jung Kyung. But why follow that up with a confession?

1
11

It’s quite obvious he likes her too he just hasn’t say it aloud.
Him telling her that he’s playing for JK is the same thing as telling her he likes her, that’s how I interpreted that scene even before he confessed. He could’ve just done whatever he wants without her permission or letting her beforehand.

    6
    3

YES!! There was no doubt that he liked her but boy had things to deal with. I admit he was a bit stand offish towards her prior to the confession and I know it’s because he has lots on his plate, which makes it equally frustrating since we all know that Song Ah just wants to be there for him and have him trust her enough to share his problems openly. BUT that last scene clearly shows he respects her enough, because he DID tell her and DID want her to know and he DID confess. So…for Joon Young, that speaks volume, especially when everyone has labelled him as this boy who does not express himself with words but music.

      4
      1

Oh you’re right.. him showing respect for her and showing that whatever decision he makes.. he’s considering her feelings too.. i think that’s really how you show you care about a person. Ok.. now i feel less uncomfortable about his confession. Thank you!! So glad to hear other people’s perspectives!

“I admit he was a bit stand offish towards her prior to the confession and I know it’s because he has lots on his plate, which makes it equally frustrating since we all know that Song Ah just wants to be there for him and have him trust her enough to share his problems openly.”–> haha this. I was mentally communicating to him through my tv screen to share his troubles with her.. but i know this will take time. He already made one step by telling her about playing for Jung Kyung.

        2
        1

Don’t worry. I know if it was any other male lead, I would be equally as frustrated with him (I admit, I was a little) but it’s Joon Young. He’s still learning to open up.

Also this is why I like Beanies here, we all can share our ideas and help each other see different perspectives of things.

          3
          0

Yess! I totally share that perspective! I do wish he’d have confessed first and then shared that tho. It sucks that the confession came after a mini-argument 🙁
I just want them to be happyyy

      3
      1

Music maybe his talent but boy sure lacks communication skills (not saying he can’t, he’s just too considerate), whereas our girl clearly says what’s on her mind (not always, but when the time is right) but is considered “not talented” with the violin. I like the contrast.

Joon Young seems to be struggling more these days with how to get his words across to Song Ah, which I find interesting. He wants to be considerate by saying the right things but he’s already experienced first hand that Song Ah is not one to listen to sugar coated stuff or wants protecting and honestly, girl was just waiting to hear him say “I like you” (which in my opinion he has kind of said it many times, just not those exact words – “Will you wait for me?”, “Every thing you say and do. I’m concerned about it too.”…etc” So that last scene was intriguing because he did the normal Joon Young thing by telling her about the Jung Kyung stuff first, which was basically his way of showing he cared aka “I like you”, but it backfired so boy had to finally say it for real. LOUD AND CLEAR.

        6
        2

That is true!! that’s why i’m glad he told her why he’s playing for Jung Kyung. But you’re right.. that’s his way of showing that he cares about her.. and that he meant it when he said he’s concerned about her. Thanks!!

      1

I think it’s his thought process. He realized he really really likes her after Jung-kyung came. He’s decided to help her because he doesn’t feel that way towards her anymore. So in his brain, he had to explain how he came to the conclusion first. He will help Jung-kyung because that’s when he realized he has no feelings for her anymore. Then he confessed.

    3
    1

Well said!! He had this look of epiphany on his face too.. like, he realised that he can help Jung Kyung without any lingering feelings. Which means he really likes Song Ah.

Also, why is Joon Young’s face expressionless after he hears her confession?! Is he unhappy?! Or did they just want to end the episode at the point to have a cliffhanger.

    Even I want to know.

    1
    0

He looked shocked. Like “Is my dream woman really confessing to me?”.

    5
    1

I was wondering about that! Maybe he was unhappy because he desperately wants to have a friend but all his friendships are getting tied up in a romantic mess 😭😭😭😭

I think a mix of worry and uncertainty and everything else that’s going on in that poor boy’s mind. He’s suppose to be taking a break but dude hasn’t had a moment to breathe.

    1
    1

True he has a lot of not so happy stuff going on he’s probably confused.

I think it was part cliffhanger and part shock. I don’t think he was expecting anything like that!

Cons of watching spoilers: now I’m scared to watch the actual episode coz it looks like its gonna hurt. Next week’s episodes too. Not optimistic. Show, please don’t go down the tropey way. #Brahms

Saw someone saying on Twitter that the thing that gets people about slow burn romances is the YEARNING. And damn, I have a feeling it’ll be that way in #DoYouLikeBrahms. (but no useless angst please)

Moon Embracing the Sun is fulfilling my epic sageuk needs right now. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh… someone tell me if the heartbreak here is as big as the paaaaaaaaain in Queen for Seven Days?

I think Queen for Seven Days is more painful! If you could sit through that, Moon Embracing should be manageable.

METS is much easy on my heart. QSD’s couple is doomed from the beginning *Sighed*

In need of an epic saeguk so I just started Moon Embracing the Sun. Am still at the childhood story part and the actors playing the younger versions of the characters are blowing my mind.

METS was my first sageuk and I absolutely love it!! It holds such a special place in my heart because of the amazing acting from the younger versions of the characters and just the storyline. Because of it, I now have a requirement that the child actors have to be just as captivating otherwise the drama is dropped LOL

    2

haha! METS gave you such high standards 😛 the younger actors were all so good they have a special place in my heart too.

Sang Tae feeding Moon Young… 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 I love that the show has these scenes showing sibling love.. The male lead isn’t the only only who can show care for the female lead.
