Beanie level: Water maid

I am drifting away from Search WWW and I can’t quite put my finger on it. I was earnestly waiting for the episodes when I first saw the teaser but now I dunno, I am not really looking forward to it anymore. Maybe it isn’t just my cup of tea, sadly.

I still haven’t finished last week’s episodes. I think it’s time for me to drop it too.

Same. Still haven’t finished few episodes, at the moment I am thinking whether to finally drop it or wait for some time and get back to it.

This show is weird for me, objectively I think it is one of the better k-dramas around, but I’m just not that into it (it fluctuates, sometimes it’s like poetry and sometimes it’s boring/awkward). I still haven’t finished ep 7, and it isn’t a good sign when I have to force myself to finish an ep.

I love the show but I don’t feel the strong need to watch it. I can’t drop it though and I don’t know why.

I swear, the last time I saw her in a drama, I was like “curse you, I’d rather talk to a wall than communicate with you…”

but this time, Mom’s character is jjang 💐

I love how this scene is so calm yet hilarious at the same time.

I can’t handle spiders and I don’t like one on my fan wall but Louie’s reaction is just priceless I can’t help but post anyway.

This scene is downright funny. Soooo freakin’ relatable.

You know what’s the worst thing upon seeing a spider? It’s when you blink and the spider is gone. Paranoia🕷️

Seo In-guk, with his silly antics, had me laughing again.

Since 2016 💜

Their scenes were so precious, I just keep on rewatching.

Those moments – when he was waiting for her, with a glass of water beside him; when he baked something for her (and she lowkey teased him about the taste); when he offered his umbrella; when he rode the bus with her; when he walked her home; when he waited outside until she looked through the window and bid goodbye; when she gave him a present (and he was so happy with it); when she leaned on his chest… make me really wanna fall in love.

A hopeless romantic, I know I am at times.

I was so HURT when we didn’t get enough of them in s2.
That was such a great slow-burn romance!

Tell me about it. It’s such a shame, a lot of viewers were sooo looking forward to the continuation of their story but there was nothing much from S02 apart from the phone calls and that one short scene. That’s actually why I always go back to season 1.

I was so pissed off at someone\’s comment that I couldn\’t wait to reply only to notice the reply button is nowhere to be found.

I told myself not to bother but here I am anyway.

Sorry to break it to you but celebrities do not owe us any explanation about their personal lives.

Yes, you can say that a fan\’s support is very crucial to someone\’s career but to say someone\’s future solely depends on that support is absurd. For you to say that celebrities wouldn\’t exist without fans\’ time and money and that they owe their entire career to their fans is just horsesh*t.

You know what? If anything, I owe them… for giving justice to the characters in kdramaland, for inspiring me with their superb and admirable performances, for giving me joy and hope amidst the ugly reality in the world that we live in. And I know there are a lot of genuine fans out there who feel the same way.

Seriously, I can\’t believe fan entitlement is still a thing in this day and age.

    My thoughts exactly, thank you!
I was literally just reading about dating rumours, and the majority of comments were people saying how relieved they were those got denied, because they would rather one of the actor date “someone else” instead of the one they’re being rumoured with. 🙄🙄😒😒

    5
    1

As if your family was not enough to tell you that and interfere, you need the whole world to help you judge how wrong your personal life will be! Because why not?
      Height of people being delusional!

    Preach man.
Your posts have been like a relief for me, saying everything I’ve wanted to. So thank you for this.
Celebrities do NOT owe us anything. I’ve said this for a long long time. Fan expectations and entitlement drives me up the wall and is present in even the smallest of ways, it gets very tiring.

I don\’t freakin\’ understand why Song Joong-ki\’s statement is considered as being in bad taste. I mean, I read their statements, both were civil, nothing disrespectful and rude.

Frankly, I found Joong-ki\’s statement as honest and polite. Are there hidden words that I am not seeing? And why do people say he\’s got nothing to lose from this matter? What the fucking hell? Just because he\’s a guy and he\’s younger? Does that make him more or less of a human? He is part of that relationship, he is also hurt. BOTH of them are suffering.

I haven\’t noticed from the statement but people are saying he\’s angry. WHAT THE HECK is the problem if he is? should he be happy then? He is getting a divorce, for Pete\’s sake.

Their situation is sad and heartbreaking. I don\’t know the details, I don\’t know the whys and the hows of their relationship. I don\’t know what exactly went wrong. And I don\’t have a right to judge who is at fault between them. And neither do you. Unless you know everything that has happened through their journey. So please, let them live.

    Exactly

I think because of their fame. At least it seems like they have a high level of it? It is hard for me to judge levels of fame in other countries. To me, because of that fame, every statement feels like a potential PR move.
So that headline seemed a bit shocking that he is divorcing her, not that they are going to divorce. Also, in his statement there was non of the usual platitudes. Often they seem worded so sides will not be picked or fans lost.
    But still all speculation. 🤷‍♀️
And it definitely doesnt make him a bad guy .

    1
    1

I think also it’s because it wasn’t filed jointly, but rather that he is filing for divorce from her which makes it look like he’s leaving her. Joint divorces appear more amicable on the outside because it looks like a mutual termination. But the way I read it as a lawyer is that there were probably some issues in division of property that they could not agree on which is why one of them needed to file instead of doing it jointly. One of them was going to have to be the bad guy if that was the case and he stepped up to do it. Imagine if the situation were reversed? It was probably a matter of optics and taking into account whose reputation would be hurt less by filing.

      19
      2

        Yes, optics.
See, I had not thought about that angle of him filing first.

        1
        1

It’s not something normal people need to think about – I’m just weirdly interested in celebrity culture and how it operates and optics are such a major part of that. Like, we rarely think about how orchestrated and elaborate roll outs are of information we have about celebrities, but if you actually stop and examine it it’s absolutely fascinating. There are whole teams of people working behind the scenes to make things look good to the world.

I always took it at face value until I started reading Lainey Gossip a couple years ago, lol.

            0

Yup. Lainey is a pioneer in many ways, but her podcast, Show Your Work, is always so sharp and spot on in regard to culture. I have become obsessed with the work behind the work since I started reading her regularly.

            2

Unfortunately his camp now keep releasing titbits that she’s at fault and his lawyer speaks to the press how he is always representing the innocent part, it doesn’t look good for them to keep it private and semi-amicable

        2
        0

What’s new? Knetizens seem to have a village mentality and think it’s their business to talk about people’s personal lives even when they know nothing about it and Kpop industry feeds that.

    3
    0

Because it’s not usual neutral mutual statement and that’s why there are multiple articles on Korean’s portal blaming everything on SHK and comments with thousands of upvotes calling her trash, and calling PB homewrecker and accusing him of backstabbing his friend. And it was not statement released in a heat of moment, it was reviewed by his team before send to press, and they knew that releasing such a non standard statement to the public will heat the rumour mills.

If there\’s a kdrama as perfectly imperfect as One Spring Night, tell me. I wanna know.

The characters are all flawed, who isn\’t?

The story is not mind-boggling or in any way unique, does it have to be?

It\’s a simple and honest story of life. And love.

The director must have been so guilty to the beanies who watched the show-that-i-shall-not-name that he has directed new one – a totally incredibly good one. No sugary romance that has no substance, no weak and self-righteous lead *cough* Jin-Ah *cough*, in a nutshell – no unnecessary bullsh*ts.

For burning me up in the past, I forgive you director-nim.

One Spring Night is doing so well and is giving me all the feeeels I needed in such a long time. I just freakin love One Spring Night. 🦋

I think for pretty noona, I don’t blame the director, I blame the script writer for giving us that show and that ending! THe direction was flawless there as well.

I am not watching OSN but I think both the writer and director are the same as Pretty Noona. As I am seeing everybody liking it maybe it is a redemption. I am kind of curious now, I tried the first episode but didn’t continue. Maybe when I am in a melo mood.
