Beanie level: Wrongly accused fugitive

Merry Christmas to all that celebrate! My family and I are still playing games and enjoying each other’s company! Still, I’m thinking of my online friends on Dramabeans😊

Day 24: Freestyle

My dad deserves a shoutout for willingly watching dramas with me! Granted they have to be action-y and with little to no romance, but still he gets into them and it’s fun to have someone to talk to about dramas. I’ve mentioned it before, but he really loved Vincenzo and has rewatched My Name twice on his own. Right now, he keeps reminding me that the second season of the Korean Money Heist has dropped and we have to watch it. I’m totally not in the mood for it right now, but I can’t say no to my drama watching buddy😆

14
6

That’s really funny being forced to watch a K drama but was it you that made your dad watch zombie dramas? I know one of the beanies did that.

    2
    1

I don’t mind zombie dramas, so I’ve watched Kingdom and All of Us Are Dead with my dad already😊 I mean I scream a lot and close my eyes, but he doesn’t mind, he is used to my drama lol😂

      1
      1

Yes your dad deserves parent of the year award because that quality time is priceless. What would be funny is if he gets more into it than you researching the dramas that he likes and dragging you into watching them🤣

        1
        1

He moves quickly to the next new show, but he does pressure me to finish them quicker together lol😂

          1
          2

Love it. Does he know you have this community and that he is famous on here too?

            1
            0

@reply1988 I don’t think he knows. I’ve asked him before to give me reviews of the dramas he watches so I can tell my friends, but he really is unaware of things he isn’t interested in, 😅

Day 23: Freestyle

I have to give a shoutout to the podcasts that kept me company while I was at work this year!
For drama recs:
-Dramas Over Flowers
-Dramas with a Side of Kimchi
And for fun interviews:
-Daebak Show
-Get Real
I always look forward to their episodes and they feel like friends. I probably look hilarious at work with my earbuds and laughing my head off😅

Day 22: Freestyle

I have to give a shoutout to my favorite variety shows of the year: 1 Night, 2 Days and Running Man! I started watching variety shows 2-3 years ago when I really needed a good laugh everyday and dramas weren’t necessarily that funny. I got to the point that I would watch a variety show episode a day, or would just binge watch one variety show until I got bored of it. I stopped watching many of them, especially because my laptop died and that’s were I watched them, but also because I got really busy and I wanted to watch my dramas as well. However, 1 Night, 2 Days and Running Man have stuck around and continue to give me laughs every week! After watching so many episodes, it feels like I can’t just stop watching them, especially since they still entertain me, so for now, I’ll keep them in rotation

I haven’t watched 1N2D, but Running Man is really hilarious. I’ve watched some of the first and I loved it.

    1
    1

Yes, it is hilarious! It’s funnier when you know the inside jokes as well. I was able to go as far as when Gary left, but didn’t have access to old-old episodes. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to watch them, but I’ll see old clips here and there.

I stopped watching when Kim Seon-Ho, Bang PD and Writer Noh and Ravi left this season. Is it still giving you good laughs?

    1
    1

I couldn’t watch it for a while and actually didn’t see his last episode, but I picked it up again, cried when Ravi did, and have had a pretty good time watching it since then. It takes a while to get used to the different dynamics, but then they all start turning to family and give us good laughs. Kim Jong-min always has a way to make us laugh, lol 😆

Day 21: Most Stylish

I have no sense style and I can’t think of any drama whose wardrobe I envied. Maybe Kim Tae-ri in Twenty Five, Twenty One because she was able to pull off bangs. I haven’t had bangs since I was a child and every time I want to be brave and cut them, I give up.

3
3

I watched a YT video on bangs the other day, and apparently there are only some people with some types of faces that suit having hair bangs.

    1
    1

That makes sense! I probably won’t do it either way because I’m already dreading hair getting into my eyes. It would drive me nuts lol

      1
      1

I can attest to this as I used to have bangs growing up and the reason I stopped having it was because it irritated my eyes.

Day 20: Best Used Trope

I had fun watching Business Proposal with its old school vibes and tropes galore with a twist, except for that ending (come on gramps!). My favorite trope out of that drama had to be them fake dating in front of her “friends”. I mean, “You know what this card and my love have in common. They’re unlimited!” (straight from my memory lol). I mean he is not wrong right?! 🤣

5
2

I almost spilled what I was drinking at that moment. ABP did extremely well up until the last couple of eps when it felt like the writer(s) and the direction of the show have been changed. A shame, really.

    3
    1

Yeah, I agree. I was ready to call it my fave drama of the year and then it went and did that, sigh. I did like it though, but not a fave.

Day 19: Your Guilty Pleasure

I don’t think I had a guilty pleasure that aired this year. Maybe rewatches because I don’t usually rewatch dramas. I tried to low key rewatch 30, But 17, but I got really into it! I am currently rewatching I’ll Come To You When The Weather Is Nice. I wanted to put it as a background drama, but I constantly find myself invested in it and not doing anything I wanted to do while watching it.

7
6

30 but 17 is a great one to rewatch. I’ve already rewatched it once and plan on rewatching it again. It never gets old.

    1
    1

Agreed! I love it and it is definitely in my top 5 Kdramas!

I haven’t rewatched Weather but I found it a very relaxing watch during my first watch.

    1
    1

It is! The music, the scenery! I don’t have a white snowy Christmas, and I actually can’t stand being cold, but it is lovely to watch on my screen!

Those are 2 of my favs, impossible to low key rewatch 😅

Day 18: Non K-drama Recommendation

I often try to watch a C-drama when I want to watch something cute and fluffy because they have been really making some cute dramas in the last couple of years. I always go for ones with good recommendations though. This year my recommendations are: The Day of Becoming You and Reset. After Secret Garden, I’ve avoided body switching dramas, just because one of these dramas was enough, but I reallyyy enjoyed The Day of Becoming You! It was funny, cute, and wrapped up well all things considering. I am a total action movie lover, but dramas in this genre sometimes don’t end well, but I totally loved Reset. It was interesting and the time loops to find the reason for the bus explosion weren’t totally boring. Highly recommend!

Day 17: Favorite Directing

I’ll be honest and say that I really don’t look at directing while watching a drama. It’s always at the end when I judge the drama as a whole that I think about the writing, the acting, and directing. If I liked the drama, “the directing was great, they got the best performance out of the actors, and the writing was *chef’s kiss*”. But if I didn’t like the drama, “the writing was bad, the acting was whack, what was the director even thinking”. Looking back, they weren’t necessarily my favorite dramas of the year, but Our Beloved Summer and My Liberation Notes stand out. There are some scenes that I can still replay in my head and “feel”.

Day 16: Your 2022 Crush

Kim Woo-bin in Our Blues! Every time he came on screen, I said, “So handsome” out loud. Happy to see him looking good and healthy and back on our screens!

10

Yes, yes and yes!!! I chose him as my favourite ML and yes, he is soooo handsome, and his character was sooooo good… and yes, so happy to see him healthy and back in dramaland.

Day 15: Nam Da Reum Award: which younger version of main character impressed you the most

Actors and actresses clearly in their 30s playing themselves as high schoolers. Impressed in the sense that only a haircut, lots of makeup, and a wardrobe change equated to a different decade and I was supposed to believe it. I didn’t believe it, but Love in Contract and Please Send A Fan Letter sure gave me a laugh.

Day 14: Most Unnecessary Subplot

The ex-girlfriend of the male lead in Once Upon A Small Town showing up. Like why you showing up when you dumped him bro?! Clingy ex-anything’s are so annoying when they show up thinking they deserve a second chance and deserve to be with someone just because they “know them better”. It was unnecessary for a short drama like this one when they already had one clingy love interest.

This is hard! The only one that pops into my mind is the one in Extraordinary Attorney Woo! It was so sweet and informative, lol💀🤣

Day 12: Drama Beanies Loved But You Didn’t / Drama You Loved But Beanies Didn’t

Apparently Beanies really loved Through The Darkness and I… haven’t watched it so can’t say I love yet😆 It is in my lonely list of one of 2022 dramas to catch up with!

As for a drama I loved and Beanies didn’t, now I wouldn’t say loved, but I think that Once Upon A Small Town was a’ight. I looked forward to watching it because it was short enough to watch during my lunch break and I didn’t have to stop in the middle of an episode.

5
3

I actually loved OUAST and I thought other beanies also enjoyed it. It was like the only fluffy show at the moment so we were happy of having something light and cute to watch.

Or maybe I remember everything wrong. I do that a lot tbh. 🤣

    3
    1

Hehe, I remember things wrong all the time too!! I think it was liked, but not loved…maybe. From what I remember (🤣), Beanies liked it enough, but weren’t necessarily raving about it. Honestly, I just wrote about it because I watched pretty well loved dramas this year!

Day 11: Favorite Bestie

There were so many friend groups in this year’s dramas that it is hard to choose. But I have to give major props to Chang-hee’s friend group in My Liberation Notes! Chang-hee was a talker and his friends at home and at work always gave him all the space he needed to talk. I’m a talker too, but I always hold back thinking I’m annoying people too much, so I was a little jealous that Chang-hee was just himself around his friends.

Day 10: Favorite Villain

I don’t think I really watched any drama with a main villain in it this year…Maybe that teacher from All of Us Are Dead who was bonkers. Totally went about things the wrong way and was unhinged. For an over done zombie show, it had a pretty interesting origin story.

Day 9: The Oldie(Not 2022) You Loved The Most

Happiness!! I really loved this drama! I wasn’t really sure what it was about when I started it, but rapidly came to enjoy it. I thought the story was good, as was the pace. They are also the OTP of my year for me. Also got to give a shoutout to Racket Boys! Another great one!

Day 8: The Drama Beanies Convinced You To Watch And You Can’t Be Grateful Enough

Beanies always convince me to watch dramas one way or another! I am not good with the written word, so I love when Beanies gush and tell me exactly why they liked something. At this point in my fan wall stalking, I kind of know who I have similar tastes with and just take their suggestions. These are the two dramas I watched because of Beanies:
– Never Give Up
– Gaus Electronics
I loved both of them! They are both similar as well: I had good laughs with them and I couldn’t put them down so I watched them pretty quickly.

9

I really liked these two as well! The former more than the latter, but I tried to get everone to watch these.

Day 7: The OTP You Didn’t Think You Would Adore

I feel like such a scrooge because no OTP stands out for me this year. I usually just accept the couples thrown at me and don’t doubt that they aren’t meant for each other because I’m just simple like that. Tell me who ends up with who and if the drama goes well, I love it, but if it’s bland, I guess I just like it, lol. There were no loves for me this year except for Happiness, but that’s a 2021 drama. I’ll just say that Today’s Webtoon was an okay drama, but I just wished that Jun-yeong and Ma-eum just got together because at least they were cute and very good friends, and I never saw Ji-hyeong as anything more than a good sunbae/mentor.

Day 6: Your Favorite OST/BGM

I used to be able to quickly recognize both osts and bgms and link them back to their dramas, but now I don’t really remember any of them! I might remember one song, if any, but only because they really dig it in my head, lol. Youth MT reminded me on how good the OST album for Moonlight Drawn By Clouds was!! Oh the days I listened to the whole album, sigh. Here is the small list of the songs that I can remember from this years’ dramas:
1. “Shining On Your Night”- Jinyoung-Yumi’s Cells Season 2 (Love this song!)
2. “Love, Maybe” -Melomance- Business Proposal (It had like 3 diff versions so I remember it)
3. “With You”- Jimin, Ha Sung-woon- Our Blues (I love melo songs like these! Also, I had a good chuckle thinking they said “just take it off”🫢😅)
4. “Christmas Trees”-V- Our Beloved Summer (Perfect time to hear this one again!)
5. “Missing You”- Hong Dae-kwang-(This song was so catchy, love it!)
